Offensively Akuma has no weakness…fast walk speed and dashes, a variety of moves, deals tons of damage and most of his special moves combo well. He’s a BIG problem.
his fireball suck, and his buttons are actually geting outclassed a lot which requires him to abuse his movement speed/gimmicks to compensate. He's really not that great right now sadly.
@@broobclop2355 I understand what you mean, I just think the sheer depth of what he can do makes it hard to deal with. Air fireballs, a jump that can cause a throw,dive kick or cross up sweep. A three hit fireball to go with his regular fireball. Lots of linkable moves, he’s fast. It’s just a lot to compensate for and although his buttons aren’t as good as they have been in the past, one mistake can end in a stun and then from a stun to a KO in seconds lol. Thank goodness he has low health still
@@Groovingonem His ground fireballs are all super reactable by any anti fb tool in the game.
For example ryu can just medium or heavy tatsu on reaction to punish any ground fireball, Ken can just hp.dp same with Luke.
Air fireballs trade with aa dps in opponent favour which makes the move useless vs almost half of the cast.
His divekick is the worst neutral divekick in the game.
For his linkable moves his most important one being cr.mk into st.lp got removed.
Also least amount of hp (shared with seth) in the game.
What he has going for him is his fast movement speed, demon flip(vs some characters) and good vtrigger with demon(which both got severly nerfed over the lifetime of a game).
His damage is honestly not that great compared to rest of the cast and his forward throw is not that great either midscreen for a character that needs to throw to open opponent up.
The things you listed like jumping that can result in a throw is true for any character in the cast it, shouldnt even be listed there.
@@broobclop2355 I guess it all comes down to play style. I’m a Ryu main. Not a top 10k player or anything but just a Gold Level guy. (that’s still top 8% of online players) I’m sure it gets trickier at the highest level but I personally have more problems with a very good Akuma player with great defense than I do a higher tier character like a Cammy, Rashid, Luke or Bison. You are spot on in your Akuma breakdown but again it’s the amount of tools he has available to him not necessarily the moves themselves. His fireballs aren’t the greatest but he can still throw them and pressure with them, his dive kick is average but he has it and you have to account for it. As we’ve both said his speed is great and then his different tatsu’s and the V-Triggers and V skill play a role too. He just has a lot of options and having to account for them all make him a menace in the right hand. The low health to me is his biggest issue and why I beat him most of the time but at the highest level like we see in this video he can cause problems.

SF2 Turbo Akuma is broken. His the Akuma which should be standard. Two jump air fire balls were standard. So good, he was banned from tournaments.
