You forgot about her in Sky High. Lynda Carter was the only actress whom I've ever had a crush on. And that was back in the 70's when this was still airing.
I've read when Carter got the phone call that was CAST as WW, she literally didn't have enough left in her account to cover the next months rent! Blessed timing for her! But I defy anyone to name a perfect selection. I've also read one of the things that made her the choice is that she made walking around in -comics accurate - a frankly outlandish skin tight one-piece bathing suit seem so utterly natural and normal.
I went to high school with Linda Carter and Michelle Pfeiffer. OK, not the ones you see on screen, but we did have fun teasing them about it. There was a change to the Wonder Woman costume for season 2. There was a lot less of the flashy gold on the bottice and less of the star-spangled on the lower part of the costume. It was an improvement.
I haven't seen her Wonder Woman show but her apperance in a Smalville episode as Chloe Sullivan's mother is heartbreaking, she did an amzing performance on that episode.
For the record; I not only watched the TV series, but I had watched the failed pilot many times. I was a big fan of Cathy Lee Crosby's Wonder Woman, and remember it fondly
It had potential. The older I get, the more the idea of a nearly invulnerable superhero just seems ridiculous. But a female secret agent - perhaps with some kind of special gift or power - sounds interesting. I liked how in that movie only Steve Trevor knew she was an agent. Everyone else just thought of her as his secretary. Definitely a change from the original.
I Loved her character in Sky High (2005), as the principal. She actually has a line in which she states, I'm Not Wonder Woman you know. It was a movie that features kids of Super Hero Parents in High School.
Wow minty, this video had all kinds of feels, quite heartwarming to be honest. I grew up with Wonder Woman and I have the seasons that I share with my son so that he can grow up with a lot of the same stuff I did. You did a wonderful job on this video, even the music at the very end is very touching. Keep pumping out these amazing videos
Brings back memories. I had Wonder Woman underoos, a Wonder Woman swimsuit (which I wore while playing with my dad’s yellow rope as my lasso ha!), and yes I had the doll too 🙂
I used to make a tiara and bracelets out of aluminum foil to play with. My Grammy found in a toystore a playset consisting of tiara, bracelets, belt and lasso. Along with Kelly Garrett, Princess Leia Organa, and Sarah Jane Smith, Wonder Woman will ALWAYS BE my hero.
I think they knew exactly what they were saying when they wrote that line. It was a mild protest against Cathy Lee Crosby's version which was most definitely NOT Wonder Woman!
The one thing I thought was funny about some episodes, especially the skateboarding episode was, she is an immortal so why would she need to wear a helmet? Either way this show was really something back then, as Linda Carter literally looked like she jumped off the comic book much like Christopher Reeve as Superman.
I remember the early blonde WW (Cathy Lee), but I don't think I associated her to WW at that time. Good episode Minty. I will have to recommend this to my buddy who has a major Carter Crush. I think he has the WW doll. I may have been the one to get it for him.
Man, you're grinding them out. You know I gotta watch my boy. Don't burn yourself out, though. I don't know who I'ma watch if you leave the platform too. 😢
Of all the superhero tv shows of that time, Wonder Woman is my favorite because it stuck to much of the original storyline. Spider-man's Peter Parker was a grown up and the effects were hokey. The Hulk tv show was okay, but it didn't stick much to the source material either. Plus, the endings were always depressing.
She also had a cameo in the movie sky high she was the principal or head of the school something like that and she said what do you want me to do I'm not Wonder woman you know at that point on my actually yeah you are so
17:10 i cannot believe you didn't mention her role as Principle Powers in the movie Sky High. Where she says the line, "What can I do? I'm not Wonder Woman."
Yeah, except that’s not the line. The Line is “I’ve done what I can for you, I’m not Wonder Woman you know.” Which is hilarious but only because Lynda was saying it.
Lynda Carter is the reason dark hair light eyes has been my favorite look. So much so that my wife has that look. She is just a little shorter!!! However she did dress up as WW for Halloween when we were dating, that sealed the deal for me!!!!👍👍👍
@@susannpatton2893 i was born in 75 and it was before my teens i saw both batman and wonder woman so im sorry your area didnt have reruns. im betting your area wasnt the norm.
Welcome to the club! 😁 Who wouldn't! With such an amount of beauty back then on TV. Gorgeous ladies such as The cast of Charlie's Angels, Joanna Cameron, and Lindsey Wagner, among others.❤
In conclusion: Lynda Cater IS Wonder Woman. She perfectly captured the blend of potential warrior and intend to be at peace. Lynda was magnificent in the role and ALL blame sits firmly upon netwoeks.
A rumor that I ran into years ago was that one of the things contributing to Wonder Woman getting a third season was that one of the high-level executives at CBS liked how Lynda Carter's ass looked in her costume. Perhaps apocryphal, but it's believable.
100% Agree. Linda Carter looked like she jumped off the comic book cover just like Christopher Reeve did as Superman. I wish they would have done a big budget production with Reeve and Carter playing their respective roles in a serious movie script. I always thought they could have brought Ares as a main villain along with Brianiac which would have caused Superman and Wonder Woman to team up in that movie. Wouldn't that had been something to see.
@thedarkknight7287 if feels like ideas like that could have led to a cinematic univers years ago. Great stuff actually. Braining is one of my favorite villians.
Methinks the kid got teased and he told his mom about it. Things got said on the set, and Linda heard about it. Says a lot about her personal character and how much she appreciated her co-workers that she wouldn't let her stunt double's son be ridiculed.
OMG thank you for doing this episode, Lynda Carter is and will always be my idol. I first saw this tv show at age 4 and that was it for me., I was completely hooked on Wonder Woman!! My Grandmother (My Dad's Mom) made a Wonder Woman costume for me and I was so excited!! 😉, I hink there was talk about Lynda Carter returning as Wonder Woman in one of the ww movies, but I don't think that will happen. I would love if Lynda Carter would do a reunion as Wonder Woman, but who knows !! I have the 3 seasons on dvd!! 😁
Look at her vintage Ms Julie, try to describe her and not use the word statuesque, oh Ms Julie you are statuesque and you were the only Catwoman! (Too wong foo)
Lynda is still beloved to this very day and she definitely embodied the best of Wonder Woman-nothing against Gal who did a fabulous job too. Also @13:15-that version of her uniform is still iconic to this day-personally think it’s the best version. Especially the stars arrangement on the lower section-and those boots! It’s a perfect costume in my book. Thanks for doing this video!
The show had a good cast. Lyle Wagoner could do comedy as well, he was on the Carol Burnett show for years. He even started a company to provide trailers for actors when on set.
When I was 3, 47 years ago, I saw Lynda Carter in an airport and called out to Wonder Woman and waved. According to my mom (I don’t remember this at all), Lynda Carter came over to me, talked to me, and shook my hand. What a class act this woman is!
She is STILL a WONDER WOMAN !!!! Lynda is amazing, and easily in the TOP % of talented, beautiful ladies on television ever ! I am SOOO very glad they gave her a WELL deserved Cameo at the end of Gal Gadot's movie.
Minor correction: In the comics Diana changed to Wonder Woman by twirling her lasso up and down her body; this was not able to be reproduced in live action and Lynda suggested the spin. And, you are correct, this is so iconic DC Comics has made it a canonical way that Diana still can transform.

Much preferred the WWII version of "Wonder Woman". Having not been alive in the 1940s (that I can remember) it makes it easier for me to suspend disbelief that these events actually occurred. Growing up in the 70s, we knew these things and the technology displayed was made up.
Seeing her at the end of WW84 gave me goosebumps and the only reason why I saw it after hearing spoilers online! She still has the magic and charisma to draw you in!
Lynda Carter is definitely Wonder Woman. I do like the Wonder Woman movies. Carter will always be Wonder Woman to me. She is a pretty lady. I can see young boys get a crush on her. Girls wanting to be more like her. A female superhero. What a great idea.
When I think of Superman, I think of Christopher Reeve. When I think of Batman, I think of Michael Keaton. And when I think of Wonder Woman, I think of Lynda Carter.
While not appearing as Wonder Woman, Linda did spoof the character in the movie Sky High. Her character, the principal, made the comment, “I’m not Wonder Woman you know.” Love your videos. Keep up the good work.
I used to work at an Inn where Linda Carter and her family would stay often. Her husband is one of the top guys at Bethesda. We would put on her albums while she was visiting and I jumped at the chance to carry her bags. She and her whole family are lovely people. And she is still so beautiful. It was still magic to me to be in her presence.
She still is drop dead gorgeous!
She was my first girlfriend 😂
I wonder what is her fountain of youth?
And very good at being very bad. In a SVU episode.
Absolutely!

Sky High is a fun movie I see again now and then.
Linda Carter is brilliant as Wonder Woman. 😀👍

I grew up watching this show, the Hulk, Spiderman, and others like it. My childhood was GREAT!!!
Rover was the Cousin Oliver of "Wonder Woman".
Let's not forget that Lynda Carter also played the principal in Sky High. It was a great casting choice for a high school superhero movie.
My favorite TV Show from the 70’s (with Hulk). 🤗♥️🎥
Perfect casting!
I went to high school with Linda Carter and Michelle Pfeiffer. OK, not the ones you see on screen, but we did have fun teasing them about it.

Linda Carter is one of the top three women this earth has ever produced. Such an awesome lady.

She is wonder woman just as jackman is wolverine or Chris Reeves is Superman. She is also gorgeous but very wholesome as well. A rare beauty.
Yes, I'm partial to Chris Reeves Superman and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, but I'm liking Henry Cavill's iteration on both!
Christopher Reeve, not Reeves.

Nice one, Minty.

Linda Carter is Wonder Woman to me the way Christopher Reeves was Superman. She was the absolute best! Great video Minty
I had this sentence right in my head.

Too bad they never did anything together in those roles.🙁
