im suprised that his father would tell him not to do such a big mitzva! helping someone have another jewish child. why would mr bochner publicize something so not respectful about his father. did his father not understand what a big mitzva this is? dont understand the whole idea of this clip. its too confusing. if anyone can answer what the point here is. i understand his father wanted him to just live his life. but thats not what chesed is all about. and mr bochner has a burning desire to help others. he feels its his mission. he wants to do something that would satisfy him in his old age to know he did the best he can. i would look up to this. its such a noble act. i wish i could be so successful to do such a thing.
The Father is asking his son to go to sleep at a decent hour and get up at a decent hour so his mind will be sharp. This would give his son a longer and more effective life, which would result in helping even more people.
Parents, I believe G-d uses to speak wisdom to us. Mine did. They really love us.
