Hi 77rxpharmacy, Energica is equipped with a PMAC synchronous motor with permanent magnets and a full ride by wire with selectable power maps with a power of 100Kw oil cooled and a torque of 160Nm. Energica has a range of 150 km at a speed of 70 km/h. The batteries can be recharged within 3 hours with a normal socket or in less than 30 minutes to 80% of batteries capacity with direct current. The battery has a nominal capacity of 11.7 kWh. We're working on bringing Energica in the US...
glad to see more and more companies are making all-electric street bikes aimed for performance. I can do without the noise, just having something to commute to work would be fine.

None ever claimed to have the latest high tech novelty at the lowest price...it needs to become a commodity and then the price goes down: it is called "economies of scale" and it is at the basis of every economic market.

for a sporty bike, 150km is the average travel distance, we are not aiming to be in the "touring segment" now...even if "never say never". There are countries in the world where charging stations are luckily starting to be enough to enjoy this kind of bike, it is just a matter of time and patience, and future perspective. we think that its high performance might be very interesting for your country! Regarding the US final price, it will depend on import costs and US taxation. The price starts from 18.000 euros (European price excluding VAT) but with the addition of ABS system, the superbike increases its value so the end price is still to be determined. Keep following us!

Famed racing car designer Mauro Forghieri served as Bugatti's technical director from 1992 through 1994....Volkswagen AG acquired the Bugatti brand in 1998. Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S. commissioned Giorgetto Giugiaro of ItalDesign to produce Bugatti's first concept vehicle.." Therefore Italy and its designers and entrepreneurs had and still have a key role in Bugatti history. It is now in France but anyway owned by German Volkswagen.

well, I would not leave any kind of motorbike outside during winter, in particular such a top level motorbike...because you would be very lucky to find it even after one night only...even in Canada...
By the way, we will supply some guidelines for best battery use. Cold is not the best, but the main problem could be to charge it at very low temperature, not just to use it.

thanks for watching the video! We would like to share with you some info about eCRP’s motor and Energica’s motor. eCRP has two Agni Motors with 26 kW each, so our electric racebike eCRP has in total 52kW . Energica has a 100kW motor with a 10kWh battery pack.

Keep those headlights round. Don't fall into the status quo. Keep that bike, beautiful, sexy and UNIQUE! One of the best things about it is that is DOESN"T looke like an R1, Ninja or CBR.
i drive my 49cc in the winter it a 24 inch wheel bike for kid very small and it fun.
it got 8 years and it still working even if one time i ve forgot to put oil in the gaz '' 2 temps'' and it literaly jam and almost made me have a crash . if i am buying something i want it heavy duty temperature winter, summer rainy day in a 2meter depth mud hole, in a pool after a 360 jump :)

If you have slow charging it takes more or less 3h to go from zero to full, if you have fast charging it takes less than 30mins up to 80% full. Plus the regen braking.
By far the greatest invention to date. Because the freedom of riding is now truly FREE! Excellent work! By the way, I would not change a thing! It is PERFECT! I Think Tesla would drive it on Edison's lawn..... ;) Joey..U.S.A.

But consider my comment. Scooters are for city use and short ranged utility vehicles so the succes is gearanteed when they'r fully electric.
it means less smog in our cities.

thanks, people are in need of "high performance electric scooters" more than any other bike.
It would be easy to push piaggio out of the market since theyr quality lacks alot.

It is almost impossible that something that is cool, high quaility, cutting edge...and almost future technology is cheaper than a mature (or even old) technology. By the way the goal, soon or late, will be reachable. We also believe that people is changing their mind, most of people is starting to care much more about our planet, and when they can they behave the right way...much better than even only 1 year ago.

appreciate your effort, but one solution would be offering different versions pr configuration, just like tesla, with different battery size, electric motor, suspension, brakes, etc, that would be best of both worlds

The future and a smart one. I get discouraged relying on Arab oil and rising gas prices. A Nice alternative and about time. I lke my Yamaha RZ500 and my Harley Davidson Night Train but this gets a thumbs up from me. Thanks for posting.

It is a very beautiful piece of machinery but i think it would look more elegant if it had headlights like the yamaha yzf-1r (sharp) rather than the circular ones it has.

It is just a matter of time, when the demand for electric vehicles will start to allow "economies of scale" for batteries mainly, electric vehicle not only will be more competitive, but will be much cheaper than petrol vehicles because as you know there is much less maintenance and many many less parts and expensive devices in an electric vehicle. Let's wait and be patient…
It's a great technology that could be applied to simpler, more practical bike. A lightweight cruiser to get you back and forth to work and fun sunday rides. If you want a sport bike odds are you want the power and speed of a sport bike and this is no even close to a well tuned GSXR or R1. Also, the $18k Euro price point puts this beyond most salaries. I'd buy a used GSXR for a fraction of the price and get great gas mileage and still blow this thing off the road.
Simply put, there's not enough stations to charge this at, and it has range of 150km only - city-in use? You couldn't effectively make any kind of trip out of city, and I don't expect a village to have an electric charger for it, many of them don't even have a gas station. Not to mention for 18k Euro you can get any other fuel perpetuate bike and you won't have issues with distance nor fueling, plus you'll probably have that great sound you love to have on a bike.
Still I appreciate the effort.

a DIY electric motorbike is a good option an very much cheap, and everybody can have right now, 2014 are so far
thanks John the Hater, this is your opinion. We still believe that if we can have fun, speed, torque, a great design and a sexy bike, and at the same time we don't kill people around us while waiting at the traffic light...well, we it is not so bad..uh?
What will be the range on full charge?
How long will it take to charge from zero to full?
Will you be selling the bike internationally? If so, will you provide charging kits to suit each individual country's electrical outlets?
Can you tell us what the performance specs are? e.g. 0-60 mph, top speed, curb weight, etc.
How much will it cost?

Yeah when does this motorcycle get released and how much? I was about to buy a DIY electric motorcycle but this seems much better, haha.

Could somebody please explain this to me: What kind of an electric motor produces 100kW power, because when I look at this video: "30 kW motor starting" (granted the motor has to be pretty old), this big monster produces only 30kW, so I can't possibly imagine how, such a tiny engine (tiny enough to fit into the motorcycle + batteries) can produce such power 100kW??

i realise that, just we realy need this bike to happen on a big scale the petrol game cant go on for ever,Italian bikes are always expensive,that said you cant use old econimic scales in the current economic environment fiat currency is coming to its inevitable collapse as will always hapen in a debt based economy the demagrapic you need to target has less money and inflation is on its way,look back to 1948 and the volkswagen beetle way ahead of its time we need the peoples bike

these are neat ideas but its just not practical enough. I can't sit for hours waiting for it to charge at a track day or only go riding for 60-70 miles and go home.

100% green my ass. What about disposal? Also how long will those electric motors even last on those super bikes? Then also what about them batteries? Those batteries still have a long way to evolve to be practical that it still able to hold a decent charge after a decade.
