Omori sure has such a way with expressing his emotions.
Just a note: Right next to Mari's picnic is a secret boss (Should be behind a tree). It will go away after progressing the story a bit, so make sure to check it out.
The general strat for early game is to make Aubrey mad and the enemy sad so headbutt does a lot of damage.
Once you get to mid-late game, the emotion synergys are pretty much equal (I ran a Happy synergy where Kel could one shot boss phases, but anger + some late game Omori skills can do huge damage).
Yeah, I stuck with anger strats throughout, and it served me well enough, but i could definitely see that other emotions get pretty viable too

We are back with the wholesome cherry playing such a fun, family friendly, wholesome, and definitely not psychological horror game and I'm pretty sure we can all agree that we want to see more :)

Just a tip:
For boss fights I would recommend saving your energy until you can use your ultimate team attack. To use it, you have to use a regular attack as omori and all four team members have to be alive.
Regular battles don’t normally last long, so I would just use follow up moves.

There are nine in total (I’m pretty sure) and my favorite one is the Hikikomori ending

Sad -> depressed -> miserable
Angry -> enraged -> furious
Happy is higher luck (crit rate) but higher miss chance and weak to sad.
Sad is higher defence but lower speed and weak to angry.
Angry is higher attack lower defence and weak to happy.
The more you progress in the stages of emotions the more intense the effects of the emotions are. Only OMORI and the bosses can go to the full 3 stages the dream friends can only do 2 stages of each.

Omori defense would be so low that the enemy can deal a massive amount of damage if merg did that. I would rather him to use sad emotions more cause Omori has stab and increase defense

Omori is that game where everything is fine and charming but you cant stop fealing discomfort knowing the eventually something will go wrong. And thats why I love this

Sad foes give 25% less exp and 20% less clams than neutral enemies
Basically, try to make foes angry by the end of the battle if you want exp, make foes happy if you want clams, and try not to make foes sad (unless you need to).
