The original Dear Klairs sunscreen (from LabMuffin's Wishtrend box) was the first sunscreen my face liked. I don't have oily skin, but every other sunscreen that looks even slightly glowy on most people looks like I'm wearing clingfilm. The original did not, it sunk into my skin and 2 minutes later was completely invisible. I kept using it after the scandal, but only in conditions where I would be ok with a SPF 19. [Commuting to the office, winter days, etc..] Wishtrend also did the right thing; they gave me shop credit for the price of the sunscreen. It sounds like the new formula might be worth trying.
Hi hun, I dont think spf 19 is terrible for some climates for sure and would be fine here in the uk in winter though I do usually go spf 30 or higher.. love you x
i literally just learned last night about the korean sunscreen SPF scandal and am grieving my klairs sunscreen 😭 i appreciate your thorough explanation of the new formulation in the description as well as your summary of what happened up to this point! super informative.
I'm all about of second chances, but I wasn't super excited about the Purito . It was a total fail for me. I hope I can give this Klairs a chance, looks promising! Definitely try the Round Lab Birch Juice sunscreen if you have a chance, Rob! It's lovely!!!

I have to say that my skincare journey started POST sunscreen apocalypse- so I have a less biased perspective (just started wearing SPF at 24- are you horrified?! ) I personally love Dear Klairs- I just started getting into K Beauty, and as a plant based vegan with sensitive skin- I find their brand does wonders for my skin and is very accessible ♥️♥️♥️ No need to forget, but forgiveness is key! I wish it were mineral 💕

We love that you noticed the ever so slightly dewy finish that we tried so hard to nail down, and also love how you apply light layers of sunscreen under your makeup because that's exactly how we do it too! Thank you for also not adding alcohol and vitamin E. A lot of ppl are allergic to vitamin E, unfortunately most products have it. I’d give it a try and hope it doesn’t break me out since tocopherol isn’t included. Fingers crossed 🤞
Rob, whyyyyyyyyyyyyy?? That looks like the tiniest tube of sunscreen. Looks like it would last maybe a week. Why is sunscreen packaging getting smaller and not bigger?? Big hugs! 😁❤️
I don’t know why I have never really looked into Klairs products. I just discovered an SPF 60 for sensitive skin (for face and body) by LRP. For $23 for 150ml I won’t be looking elsewhere for my SPF for a while now. Can’t wait till your tried and tested SPF come out though. I just know it is going to be perfect. Xxxxxx
@@danmoore6057 That happened to me too, Dan! I realized it was the denatured alcohol in the product. The worst part is it took me three weeks to figure it out. It's good to let people know if they are struggling with the same issue!
@@danmoore6057 Absolutely!!! It doesn’t seem like an ingredient that should used on the skin. I am using the Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun SPF 50 and the Canmake Mermaid Skin Gel SPF 50 this summer.🌺
@@danmoore6057 I have a large tube of the La Roche Posey Anthelios SPF 60 Melt In Sunscreen Milk that I’m trying to use up on the body. Denatured alcohol is the 7th ingredient, and I slather my skin with a heavy duty moisturizer before using it. But after being in the chorine water at the pool, and reapplying.... I have to go home and drench myself in an oil!!

I haven't tried it yet (& probably won't) because of the price. I already have my go to SPF that's more affordable and works fine for me. I'm all for second chances in general, but more for people, less for brands lol. But I also think that any brand can make an honest mistake, learn and grow from that.
Would you like to review brands such as Avene, Aveeno and Eucerin? These are the three brands I mostly use and it would be great to hear what you think about their line of products. Thankyou as usual :)
I agree re: transparency. Frankly, I didn't even know they were part of the sunscreen scandal, I just have seen this new one advertised to me everywhere, and I would have had more confidence in the product if they had said something on their website acknowledging that it's an improved version of an older one that didn't meet expectations. Transparency is king, and I like to hear a company admit if they made a mistake and can own it. It feels almost like they're trying to bury their involvement in the issues, and that feels shady to me
I love this sunscreen. I don't remember how they responded, but remember the whole Korean sunscreen scandal (I had loved the Purito one). I have dry sensitive skin and use a mild tretinoin formula. For a bit it got a tiny bit sensitive to some chemical sunscreens I have used for ever, but this wasn't a problem. It's very moisturizing and looks great under makeup.

I do like this suncreen and how it blends on my skin and beard, even better than Beauty of Josean and Isntree. I found Beauty of Josean a bit irritating on my skin but none of these products does not make my eyes burn. But yeah the lack of transparency has now made me rethink too.
Hi Rob I hadn't tried the old version due to the fragrance, but I do like some of their other products and there are in reality only certain things that work for my hypersensitive skin. I'm happy with the spf's I'm currently using (mostly mineral, although when my skin is calm and I need strong UV protection ultrasun is my go to). When I look at the products I do use spf is the step that is one of the higher priced items I use. My skin is so picky about spf and unfortunately that means many of those I can use end up being at a higher price point. My new daily spf is the colourscience spf50 original. Here in the UK it's around £24 for 55mls, but it causes no irritation and doesn't really dry me out like so many mineral spf's can. The Avene mineral spf50 is more water resistant for sweaty days and the ultrasun for days when I'll be out and about all day - that's my current sunscreen wardrobe and covers my lifestyle. i don't sit in the sun for long periods of time and always seek the shade when possible, so my daily spf is for incidental exposure tbh. I'm certainly not running out to buy it, but would try a sample if I received it. Best wishes.

I'm with you on this one, William. If I am working in the garden or swimming, I like to wear an Australian sunscreen. I was lucky to receive the Bondi Sands Hydra UV Protect SPF 50 from Elizabeth (Australia) as a gift. I'm hoarding it for hot, summer days in the south!
I use the sugar scrub sometimes, and like it alot. I was just about to purchase the other sunscreen right before "the scandal", probably will try this one eventually 🤗

I really wish they would have kept the original. Slap an SPF 15 on it and I'll use it as a daily moisturizer! It felt so nice on the skin!
