Years ago I made an offering to God. I allowed Him to prevent me from feeling even the smallest joy, as long as I live. And He paid heed to my request. Do not do like me, brothers! Though I do not live in daily sorrow and I rarely feel sad, I have long forgotten what joy and to rejoy feels like. Don't do what I did, don't ask what may cost you more than what you can even fathom.

So true about joy! We so need to experience joy, but ultimately need to trust God, and just as LOVE is chosen so is JOY.
"Rejoice in the Lord ALWAYS, and again I say REJOICE!"

...let us just be a good children to our Father in heaven... and like children... we ougth to be imitators of our Father... he has many qualities you know... as for me... i have decided to be his Love... so thar everything that i say or do is done out of Love.. so that when people look at me they will see the Love of God... it is difficult to do but i hope someday with his grace, i can be a better imitator of his Love...

Awesome homily from Fr. Aaron. We all need to be reminded again and again the Truth and Peace that our Lord, Jesus Christ wants all of us to receive and understand in our hearts over our fear and anxieties. First words Christ said to the apostles in hiding with fear in the Upper room was "Peace be with you." TY Keith

"Rejoice" amen. But, thanks be to God I can have it both ways. I had a little remark to say about the Vatican Nativity scene on LinkedIn; Just one then I left it alone. I've also had a few things to say about the ongoing attempt to overthrow my beloved United States. I hope to be in D.C. on the 6th to protest. But, these things that I have to say are (I hope) in prayer, but rejoicing that what ever ultimately comes of this nation, or the Vatican, or whatever else that ails us, our Lord Jesus Christ will determine what is best for us and Thy Will be done. Mmmm mmmm mmmm, we have such a loving, merciful and loving savior, Jesus Christ. Rejoice.

Father Aaron, thank you for this important and appropriate message in your sermon. We surely need to hear the message of "Rejoice". You brought out very important facts and bible quotes which help us to grow in our faith but also to increase our knowledge of the Word. God bless you and may you continue to preach the truth in humility and love.

This talk is very much in line with your talk "Can we all turn back to being Catholic now?" which really hit me! It filled a vacuum which needed to the filled - and your talk had this effect on me for all I saw in social media many negative attitudes, condemnation, ridiculing, sarcasm etc. which I felt, are not healing the wound of division in the Mystical Body of Christ. (all in all good faith, I believe) as I asked myself, what good is coming out of all these talks? More division in the Mystical Body of Christ and much hate talk in reply! Many condemnations and nothing hinting for a reconciliation! A legalistic Church is a Church for the elite and not for poor sinners like myself. Too much legalism leads to scrupulosity; an ailment very difficult to recover from which might ruin a sensitive soul forever!.
"And He has qualified us as ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life." [2 Cor 3: 6] So, why not try being more spiritual in what we write and/or say? More edifying rather than judgemental? Do one's best to heal the schism rather than increase it?
One might have come to the conclusion that "being Merciful" is a weakness and only a good scolding might bring sinners back to God - have we forgotten the story of the prodigal Son!
"…Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Lord GOD. Wouldn’t I prefer that he turn from his ways and live?" [Ezekiel 18: 23]
As for being a traditionalist or a liberal, the Bible has a very wise solution for this:
'Then He told them, “For this reason, every scribe who has been discipled in the kingdom of
heaven is like a homeowner who brings out of his storeroom NEW treasures as well as OLD”
    [Matthew 15: 52]
    GOD BLESS
    Anthony

Thanks for sharing this message with us . Just read that we experience joy when we grow , and we grow when we live in the presence of God and listen to the promptings of the Holy Spirit . I think your priest is being prompted by the Holy Spirit and he shared that in his message.

P.S. Can your parish invest in a second camera with a close up of the lectern and altar? For regular viewings it would be more visually appealing and could increase your views.

    • @KeithNester
      @KeithNester  3 года назад +1

I don’t think that’s possible right now. We aren’t set up for multiple angles. It would be cool though!

@@KeithNester Our Parish Priest has a camera to his right at the bottom of the altar steps which he uses to record Daily Mass and is a good compromise, as it's near the lectern and you can see and hear everything that is happening, without disrupting Mass or being in the way when people come up to receive. He always says a prayer of Spiritual Communion with all those present for those watching who are unable to receive in person.
