  • People often say The Catholic Church doesn't have the Holy Spirit. However in this video, former Protestant pastor Keith Nester makes the case for why he thinks the Catholic Church has more Holy Ghost power than anybody.

There are Catholic Carasmatic events around every country, my priest isn’t against it. Plus the Catholic Church has 2000 years experience in evangelization whereas Protestants started only around 1517 ad

Carl Parna Actually, I was converting to the Latin ( maybe one day Hebrew a) tradional Catholic Church. The Church of Vatican II is a Protestant Church. Yes, like Protestants, the priests of Nuvo ordo are open to the speaking in tongue, but the foundation is completely wrong. You should have the good foundation and the speaking in tongue. I try to talk about this subject with the traditional priests.

twn B that’s not true there Carasmatic events around almost in every country. When I was a Pentecostal even I had heard that they had Special Catholic Carasmatic events around apart from church mass.
2 times I attended a Latino Catholic Carasmatic convention.

Carl Parna Latino church or Latin mass church? Actually I was a Protestant missionary in Paris, the Holy Spirit guided me from the nouvo ordo French speaking Catholic church to the Latin mass speaking St. Peter community church, at the end HE guided me to the Latin mass Sspx church ( we consider that the concile of Vatican II not valide, because the Peter who owns the keys, has gone astray.) the true Church becomes minority, for HE resists to the manifestation of the Holy Spirit.

      Greetings! :-)
Be very, very, careful,... that we are not invoking a different "Jesus", and a different spirit, from our foolishness and ignorance! The result of which will be very, very costly!
"Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father,
and I too will love him and SHOW MYSELF TO HIM.
      (John 14:21 NIV)
"If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him,
and WE WILL COME TO HIM and MAKE OUR HOME WITH HIM.
      (V.23 NIV)
Therefore Paul warned that he who does not obey Jesus' commandments /teaching yet partake in eating the bread and drinking the wine does not discern the body and he eats judgment on himself (1 Cor.11:27-30).
There are many who are not true followers of Jesus (who call him 'Lord' but deny His lordship) and who do not know His words and do not obey them and yet partake in the bread and wine. They are ignorantly unaware that a different "Jesus" is showing himself to them.
Paul said some of those were sick and some had died after partaking in the bread and wine as a result of their ignorance. Scripture tells us that God's people perish because of ignorance!

Keith, this is a little prayer that I love to recite:
'Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created. And You shall renew the face of the earth. Amen.'

Very well said Keith. The most important thing I've found by coming back to the Catholic Church, I would say, it's the peace of mind. My life is not perfect, I have all sort of problems, but I know that God is taking care of it....It's like I've found my place. I noticed the difference in me and even other people have started to notice also. I wouldn't trade this peace of mind for anything in this world. Now I fully understand the meaning of "Coming Home". I thought I feel this alone but am on my way to conversion to the catholic church, what I realised is that in the protestant church there you feel alot of anxiety & restlessness as if you will not get what is needed to be a child of God until some sort of manifestation happens, but the few times I have gone to the catholic church, I felt gaining stability & more trust in God, believing in his mercy & will , more peace in the heart, when I feel depressed ,simply I go to mass earlier ,have a few minutes of quiet time medidating & praying then all my fears are gone ,no anxiety but peace. This is the gift of the Holy Spirit ,the more he is invoked before entering the church, at the kneeling & every prayer the more he gives you peace.

The 9 FRUITS of the Holy Spirit, signs of the Holy Spirit at work in the soul are: Love, Joy, Peace, Longsuffering, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-control. Many people do mix these up or bring in other attributes, however, these are the ones recognized by the church for ages.

Jesus said in John 14 that He would manifest Himself to those who loved Him and obeyed His teaching/ commands. This is a very deep saying because God's word is sharper than a two edged sword.
      Take
      "the SWORD of the Spirit,
which is the WORD OF GOD"
      (Ephesians 6:17)
The Word of God is the sword of the Holy Spirit, and it is sharper than any other double edged swords.
If you do not have the Word abiding in you, and you do not know His Word and do not obey His teaching, and yet you claim that the Spirit of Jesus manifests Himself to you in the partaking of the bread and wine, then your claim is not in line with the Word of God. Can you call a handicapped "spirit" (without the Sword) the Holy Spirit..?? Can you call the "spirit" who is void of God's Word the Spirit of Jesus..?? Jesus Himself is the Word (John 1:1) who became flesh (V.14), and that's the flesh (Word) that you are eating. Can you call the flesh which is void of the Word the flesh of Jesus, the very flesh that you are eating?
When tempted by Satan, Jesus said to him:
"It is written, "Man shall not live by BREAD alone, but by every WORD that comes from the mouth of God." "
      (Matthew 4:4 ESV)
Jesus Himself ate every Word that comes from God and He didn't fall into Satan's temptation. Can you, who eat the bread which is void of God's Word, claim to have eaten the flesh of Jesus and have overcome Satan's temptation?

[ /while he is still living in SIN ]

A man ought to examine himself

Samandmckenziedoes - I'm historically a devout Church of Christ Christian (and we're typically among the biggest critics of Catholicism). I've been visiting a Catholic church for awhile now, and I have yet to see even ONE person bow down to a statue or pray to it. The WHOLE focus of the entire Mass is God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit, more so than at any Church of Christ service I have ever attended. In their songs, and even in their prayers, there's a focus and worshipfulness to a degree I've never experienced - one of many reasons I can now say that I'm soon to become Catholic.
Yes, there are statues in every Catholic church building, and I have heard them likened to the collection of family photos you may have hanging on the wall in your house -- we all know without question that they're not the actual people, but are reminders of loved ones. The Catholic Church views all of its saints similarly -- as beloved family.
Maybe instead of listening to what your Protestant friends say about Catholics (like I always did, without questioning), you should go and see for yourself, like I've now done. Attending Mass for the first time is a real culture shock, but if you study up a little in advance to understand what's going on and what some of the ritualistic behaviors are all about, you'll understand what an amazingly beautiful experience the Mass is.

The Catholic church is called Holy because of the Divine Sacraments. It's the sacrament of confession specially. GOD GAVE HIS PRIESTS THE POWER TO FORGIVE SINS IN THE NAME OF THE BLESSED TRINITY. THE PASTORS IN THE OTHER CHURCH DO NOT HAVE THIS BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE THE DIVINE SACRAMENTS OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH. THE SIMPLE TRUTH IS THAT THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD ONE FAITH ONE CHURCH . You go, Keith. The plethora of misinformation about AUTHENTIC, TRADITIONAL Catholicism defies my ability to express. I'm in my 70's. I grew up and have spent my life watching my wonderful (now rip parents) being slammed. I personally experience, ti the present day, on a routine basis, faith based discrimination. This is because of: ignorance, hostility, (largely "based on misinformation & disagreement.") And 3rd, in USA there are 3 protected groups anyone's free to attack with zero fear of any bv reprisal:
    1. smokers,
    2. fat people &
    3. catholics.
I'm grateful you accepted God's grace for conversion. I pray for your charitable, informed and marvelous Evangelization. I pray for you daily. Yes, I'm in St Joseph's Battalion. I just had an experience with the Holy Spirit. On Saturday evening, I served as a Lector at Mass for my first time since doing it at school Masses as a student 15 years ago. I was very nervous going into it as it can be very nerve-wracking to be standing in front of the congregation to read the Word of God to the congregation. I was the second reader, so, as the last verse of the Psalm was being sung, I said a short prayer. As I was beginning to read, I felt a warm feeling rush over me like a tidal wave and felt a sense of calmness. I was still a bit nervous, but I felt much calmer. I then felt as though I went into autopilot as I was reading as though the Holy Spirit just took over what I was doing. It turned out that I did a very good job for my first time. Needless to say, I felt the Holy Spirit take over and calm me down while I was reading the Word to the congregation. It was truly special.

I’ve also watched a couple of Fr. Mike’s videos and I’m scared to even been seen or heard talking about the Catholic Church or watching anything in regards to Catholicism with my family or people around me. It sounds like a holy wrath... I understand you: How can people consider that they have the HS and speak so arrogantly? There are people who just wish to dispute, not to dialogue: you know already that they will not listen. I love what you say: the important thing is not to have the HS, but that the HS has us. The mission of the Pastors in the Church is first of all discernment: the HS enlightens the whole Church, guiding her to the whole truth, but there are many spirits... The mission of the Pastors of the Church is to discern if the spirits comme from God or from the Devil. I would add that the most beautiful hymns and prayers to the HS comme precisely from the Catholic Church: the Veni Creator Spiritus, the Veni Sancte Spiritus... The saints are the greatest inspired and moved ones by the HS, just look at St. John Bosco, whose feast we just celebrated, all the prophecies he received... St. Dominique (XIIc.) received the gift of tongues in order to preach in german to a group of german pilgrims. Other saints who had the gift of tongues long before the modern charismatic movement were: Saint Norbert (XIIc.), Saint Anthony of Padua (XIIIc.), Saint Vincent Ferrer (XIVc.), Saint Bernardin of Siena (XVc.), Saint Francis Xavier (XVIc), Saint Paul of the Cross (XVIIIc.), and short before the 2nd Vatican Council the mystic and stigmatised Theresa Neumann... Pope Leo XIII, under the impulsion of Blessed Helen Guerra, the apostol of the HS, wrote already in 1895 and 1897 two important documents promoting in the Church devotion (the novena to the HS) and knowledge of the HS (Divinum Illud Munus Enciclical) and sang the Veni Creator in the eve of the 20st century, consecrating it to the HS, and that very day started the charismatic movement in USA...

I'm glad I came across this video because it touches on something I realized right away after returning to the church. Prior to coming home, I bounced around some protestant churches, looking for something. I used to tell pastors who would ask that I wasn't sure what the right church looked like but I'd know it when I found it. What I did know was that I didn't want any part of a dogmatic ritualistic faith like Catholicism.
Anyway, after being disillusioned for the fourth time or so I decided to give the Catholics another try after a 45 year absence and right away it just felt right. A big part of it was the structure, the thing I said I wanted no part of. I never felt comfortable in any other church and I couldn't put my finger on it until I came home. The other churches I had tried seemed to be operating in an ad-hoc fashion, almost like they were making it up as they went along. Perhaps it was because I was attending nondenominational churches with no real tradition, but it didn't dawn on me until I attended Mass. I rediscovered the beauty of the Catholic Mass. I thought it was just me but seeing this video lets me know I'm not the only one who picked up on that. You better believe we have The Holy Spirit in us, He is the one who led me home. Great video. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the matter.

It challenged me in topics that I haven't put into practice in faith. Being Catholic means not picking and choosing but believing and living the whole thing. Baptism of the Holy Spirit is what I'm trying to understand better. Because like you quoted from 1 Cor, the Holy Spirit is dynamic but is also orderly.

The background music is very distracting and makes concentration on what you are saying difficult.

I was hoping that maybe Keith was going to say something about the reasoning for using the music bed for this video. I thought maybe he would say, "the reason why I used a music bed in this video was because I wanted it to play a track that was symbolic of the Holy Spirit and how it is was in the early church and remained constant in the video just like the gift of the Holy Spirit was at Pentacost and continues to be present in the One Holy Catholic and Apostalic Church, today.

Love this, well said, I have heard people talking in tongues, don't make much sense, but the scriptures teaches that there must an interpreter when speaking in tongues, so who says it is the holy spirit presence when speaking in tongues is happening? As a Catholic I can say my own encounter of being in the presence of being Holy Spirit is it goes deep into the souls, and that feeling is beyond anything else.

Talk about a timely message for me! I just spoke on the phone with my uncle Saturday and he is very against my conversion to Catholicism. One of the things he said was “Well, what I know about is feeling the presence of Jesus and the Holy Spirit and I don’t think they have that.” Ugh. There was more to the conversation and I hung up just feeling kinda down. I invited him to my confirmation that is coming up and he doesn’t want to come. I told him that was cool. I understood. My dad (his little brother) died a few years ago and so he has stepped in some, in a way, in kind of a dad role. He never had children of his own. I am trying not to let it hurt my feelings. He’s in his 70’s and set in his ways. But, sometimes it breaks my heart a little that so many misunderstand our Catholic Faith so much. I very much wish they could see the beauty of it. I wish they could understand what it’s like to know Jesus is present in the Eucharist. I wish they could understand the authority of the Church. But, all I can do is pray for them and hope they see some of that beauty in me. I answer questions if asked but, I don’t push teaching on them. Anyway, it’s nice to share this with people who understand. God bless you!

Thank you for this Keith, your explanation is clear and helpful. I've wondered whether I have the gifts of the Holy Spirit I feel as though I am a work in progress and that slowly but surely I am being helped by God in the trinity including the Holy Spirit to become more Christ like and whilst I don't have all the gifts of the Holy Spirit yet I have progressed x

Hi Keith, God bless you. Here a prayer to the Holy Spirit: Oh Holy Spirit, love of the Father and the Son. Always inspire me, what I should think. What should I say, how should I say it. What should I shut up, how should I act. What I must do for the glory of God, good of souls and my own sanctification. Holy Spirit, give me sharpness to understand, ability to retain method and ability to learn. Subtlety to interpret. Grace and efficiency to speak.
Give me success at the beginning, direction to progress and perfection at the end. Amen

Keith, you are an awesome teacher of the faith...and 'down to Earth' to the core! You kind of remind me of St. John Bosco, after reading about 10 books by and about him. Like other Saints before him (i.e. Saint Francis, St. Patrick, St. Philip Neri, etc...) St. John Bosco was very friendly, direct and social and in his living, teaching and preaching during his day. And, the funny thing about him, is that even his companion priests in 1800's Turin, Italy...were often his persecutors, not really understanding him well, and even going so far as to try to have him sent to an insane asylum when he was a young priest. Yet, he accomplished very great things for God and the True Faith and the religious order he started (The Salesians) is now the 3rd largest in the Catholic Church.
So, keep up the great videos! Your teaching style is a 'breath of fresh air'...and obviously inspired by the Holy Spirit in our modern RUclips and internet era of Christian evangelization!

I'm catholic and I have heard people speaking in languages.
This happened when my dad took us to meet the Father Emiliano Tardiff.
    I saw people healed miracoulously.

The first gift of the Holy Spirit is speaking in tongues. It is YOUR SPIRIT TALKING WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT. Sometimes the LORD translates it for you, to edify you or His church. The devil cannot intercede this language. THIS is why you need it - your direct connection to GOD.
GOD'S people believe that He is the LORD our GOD.
GOD'S children KNOW the LORD our GOD.
Jesus IS the Messiah. All the world is KNOWING Him. Those who do not believe are still lost. HE has healed me of so many things and taught me so much!
I was Catholic when I met Jesus in 1986. There is none like Him. Leave man made churches and find a Holy Spirit led church, so GOD can lead His people. You will never know what you have been missing until you find Jesus. #JesusMyBFFandE #HeavenOnEarth is wonderful!!!

This is because Jesus made the first church. All others were made by men; religious leaders and politicians - because people kept moving around and the kingdom needed their tax money. THAT is the ONLY reason they sound so familiar BUT CONTRADICT what the scriptures actually say...

    - Saturday is the Sabbath Day. How many churches and their people broke the Fourth Commandment?
    - Dedicate your children. Babies cannot repent and chose to be baptized. GOD gave each of us Free Will, and ways to find Him. NOW, imagine all of these people who THINK that they are saved from Hell, and never bear 'the good fruit' of the Bible. Most of them have never chosen to enter into a covenant with GOD. #JesusMyBFFandE
    - The Tax Exempt 501c3 stops churches from speaking against political wrong-doings.

GOD says to COME OUT OF HER. Otherwise, you will bear the same judgement that He has for these evil rulers and the masses who have chosen to believe a lie(s).

Trust GOD - NOT man or man's churches which contradict the Living Word of GOD, in which we know to be The Truth.
Repent and be saved. For when the antichrist does come and offer the perfect solution to the world's problems, the NEPHILIM will be free to do AS THEY PLEASE... and they HATE all of GOD's creation, and we are His most cherished creation!

I bet MOST pastors and priests don't teach that the Nephilim are demons manifested into flesh, and that is why the LORD flooded the whole earth to rid them and the evil that spread into man had made them into Hitler-like beings. Look at our world now! Here they come again. KNOW history!!
    READ YOUR BIBLE!!!

It is scripture that evil does not simply exist. Evil comes from the Evil One. So, if evil wasn't destroyed, then neither were the demons. Since the demons weren't destroyed, then neither were the Nephilim. So, where are they? The Bible says that they were giants. But, if demons can manifest in the flesh, then can they manifest into any shape and size? Also, why does almost every country have military bases in the Arctic where they work underground? And, where no regular airlines fly to/from the Arctic. It really doesn't matter how they justify it. There are only so many people there!!

GOD is Love and His children become Love by the help of HIS Holy Spirit we are made One Unified Loving Family of GOD, as Jesus our Savior died on the cross FOR ALL OUR SINS, to reconcile us to GOD, our Loving Heavenly Father who gives us freely all the solutions that we will ever need. Choose to be a child of THE LORD of all creation! #PrayForIt #YeshuaForever #GODisFORus!! #JesusANSWERS #JesusHEALS #JesusPROTECTS #JesusPROVIDES #JesusTEACHES #JesusSAVES us over and over again from the evil one. I know. The LORD showed me the MANY times that He had saved me from dying, because I had asked Him about it.

IF YOU DO NOT BELIEVE THIS THEN ASK GOD TO SHOW YOU THE TRUTH. ASK ADAMANTLY. PRAY UNCEASINGLY. THEN, GOD WILL TEACH YOU MANY THINGS THAT YOU DO NOT KNOW AND GIVE YOUR SOUL WHAT IT NEEDS TO BE ONLY FEARFUL TO GOD AND HE WILL RAISE UP YOUR BOLDNESS TO NEW LEVELS THAT YOU HAD NEVER EVEN THOUGHT WAS POSSIBLE, ALL WHILE GIVING YOU GIFTS THAT YOU DIDN'T KNOW THAT YOU NEEDED TO STAY SUSTAINED IN THIS WORLD AND UNITING US AS GOD'S PEOPLE - OUR HEAVENLY FAMILY GROWS. #TheGreatAwakening is about The Truth, and it is GOD's doing!

Psalms 37:9... For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.

Psalms 123:2... Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the LORD our God, until that he have mercy upon us.

Isaiah 8:17... And I will wait upon the LORD, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.

Isaiah 40:31... But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

How is your waiting for the LORD going for your life so far? Are you in GOD's good grace, or do you just hope that you are? I'm tell you that if any are lacking, then seek the LORD's face for answers. Read and study your Bible, and give the LORD time to answer while you ponder at His feet. I pray that you are blessed beyond the joy that you know now. THERE IS SO MUCH MORE. Because, there is NONE like Him.

    SOME OF MY TESTIMONIES...
One night, after I had known Jesus for some months, as I laid in bed and was praising Him for all that He has done in this world and in my life before I fell asleep, the LORD repeated all of my prayers that I had ever said or thought to Him word-for-word and in order of my whole life's prayers. It was amazing! I asked Him what it meant, but He didn't reply. So, I told Him that I trusted Him and I knew that He would reveal to me what this meant. The next morning as my mother and I talked about this and other things, the LORD whispered to me I HAVE RENEWED YOUR MIND - and the evidence was that He had healed me from stuttering, mind wandering. I was instantly filled with His joy, and I laughed so hard that I think that I woke up everyone in the house!

Over a year later, while I was at a doctor's office when I was sick, he wanted to run a test on my thyroid. Upon returning for the test results, the doctor proceeded to write a prescription for Synthroid. I was praying inside myself while he was quiet. When the doctor said that I had to take this little pill everyday for the rest of my life, the LORD took over, and I laughed in the doctors face, shocking us both. It was a loud, bold laugh, and I laughed while facing him and our eyes were locked. Then the doctor finished writing and just left the room. When I got outside of the office, I asked the LORD, What was that all about? And the LORD replied, YOU WILL NOT TAKE ANY DAILY MEDICATION EVER. Again, I was filled with joy and I laughed and I thanked the LORD for His wonderful gift.
I could go on and on how the LORD our GOD has blessed me/us. I pray that you will go straight to the source and ASK GOD, who made you. Mr. Nester has been indoctrinated: Though he understands many things about the Holy Spirit (love, humility and sharing the gospel is GOOD, BUT he lacks the actual knowledge of KNOWING the Holy Spirit. Pray that Mr. Nester meets the LORD's spirit so that he will make another more informed video - from actual knowledge. GOD loves His trophies! Mr. Nester NEEDS to be a trophy for GOD, just as Mr. Soros would make an excellent trophy. Can you imagine Soros making amends for what he knows is wrong? ALL have sinned. ALL have been duped by evil. Pray for one another, from family to enemies. Respect all life, from beginning to end. Do good always AND share the Good News of the gospel, that GOD dearly loves us, and He wants us safe. We need to be redeemed to be saved. And then, He changes us in our hearts, and then we see our lives change - all for the better... and we are so glad to know the LORD. and to know that our Heavenly Family Grows.

I have seen His glory! I have been shown so many wonderful things! HE wants to fill us with His glory, which is the essence of who He is. Seek Him. Trust Him. Be blessed on purpose!

Oustanding video! I know ladies who speak in tongues and say they hear from the holy spirit all the time and see things in the spirit. Prophesying things that never come to pass. Saying the holy spirit gave them a revelation about someone or a situation that was way off. It strikes me as emotionalism and a desire to really believe what you want to believe more than anything else.

Can other churches even have the Holy Spirit if they don’t have the approved sacraments or priesthood? If they can have the Holy Spirit, don’t they have as much eternal life as anyone?
No church can dispense the gift of the Holy Spirit:
Ephesians 1:13-14 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.
