Does the connecting ground floor property have access to a garden? If so, do you know if the owners are willing to sell? My cousin is looking 4 property in Italy, but a garden us a must-have 4 her.

Seems crazy maintaining the roof for the downstairs neighbor. Not sure why anyone would break up a building that way. Nice for the price but I’m guessing the split use is keeping it from selling.
Consider that some properties can be inherited by more than one person. So such things as dividing a home might make sense depending on circumstances.
Rooves are usually shared, just like in a typical apartment building
