Hi Pauline, yes we're great thanks we've just had a busy month, both being away on separate occasions so just getting back Into the swing of things, we have a video ready for Monday,we just need to catch up a bit, hope your well, hopefully see you Monday 😊
Just to reiterate an earlier comment .....ventilation is key for overcoming condensation. So i fitted and small, low power fan on a timeswitch to the bulkhead of the bow thruster compartment. Works a treat !
hey guys, thanks so much...it surly cant be long now, weve been so busy this month were a bit behind with everything, but will get there, cant wait to see you guys on the cut, take care and safe journeys xxx
Thanks Beck! You posted a day early! I believe that people underestimate just what a great job you do with the editing. The speed-ups and sound effects can't be so easy. Thanks!
Friends boat has the bow thruster tube wrapped in pipe foam 2 inches thick with large jubilee like clamps and solid wall insulation stuck on the walls, seems to work.
I just love the two of you. I laugh and smile more in 15 minutes with you than most days. The Wombat is coming along nicely. Thanks for making my Sunday. Best wishes as always, Deb
Thank you so much for the Deb, it means so much that we can put a smile on your face and makes it all worth it , have a lovely week, take care The Crobots
Just discovered you guys recently but binge watched your videos, you guys are a true inspiration, youve dealt with so much and overcome alot of problems alot of people would have walked away from, best of luck guys
Chris, completely off topic but you have lovely teeth ! I love you guys ! Good choice of pine cabinet bex. We certainly know who has both beauty and brains ! Xxx
Oh Thank you what a lovely comment Mandy, They work really well alongside my humungous Brain😂 sorry I couldn't help myself, hope you have a lovely week take care xxx
I think i would have been tempted to foam spray round the bow thruster tube, maybe that would stop that condensing but as you said it would be a pain to remove if it didnt work
We did want to spray foam originally but are a bit worried that if we get water in that area again it's going to be extremely messy, thanks Graham have a great week
Did you think of lining the blacked area with cling film and THEN using spray foam? If you did it in sections turning the film up at the edges at each start to the section. You could then pull a section out for inspections at a later date if required. But, ventilation is the real key to area as a whole. Think about the stove, too, put one of your vents very close to the stove. That might circulate the air with a little more force. I love to see folk working and getting messy! You certainly did that!!
That's a great idea Thank you, yes having one near the fire would make sense...Bex is the Brains so im sure she has so great theories. what a messy number
If you do fit 12v fans, fit 2 of them, one blowing in and one blowing out to create airflow. Large diameter ones are best because they move more air for less RPM/noise. And get a cheap fan controller so you can turn them down.
You two make me laugh. Especially talking about your brain and Bexs said you look scared by your own words. Pissed myself. Well done, blacking paint is horrible to paint on and get off.😅.😂😂
Great Vlog! Chris, why do you make everything so difficult for yourself? With the condensation problem which keeps reoccurring. Simply put signs up on your windows stating. ‘No Condensation Allowed!’ If it returns after that, you can Sue it and force it to pay for any repairs required due to its presence. 😁
haha Thanks Henry, we really dont make it easy do we? im starting to think if we just get the boat out and leave it. on mates drive we could just live on it from there...no more water issues 😂
Have to love a Crobot and his duck! Great teamwork you two! Bathroom is going to look great with the corner cabinet. Fingers crossed that this is the end of the condensation. Like the idea about the small computer fan. Great filming and editing as usual. I hope there was nothing wrong with the window and door as I saw plastic taped up 😱!! Take care and have a good week. 😊🤗 Kathy
What a catch with the cabinet...a bit of tic and she will look amazing, we keep hearing of these fans to put down their seams like a great idea. Thank you for noticing the work going into the videos it makes it all so worthwhile , no nothing wrong with the door...we were just trying to block out the fumes to the rest of the boat...now looking back im not sure a bin bag is the best thing to use?? haha take care have a lovely week Kathy
Hello both, another great vlog. Always interesting, informative and always extremely funny and entertaining. Without doubt, in my opinion anyway, the best channel of the boating community and lets, be honest there are many good ones. I actually get a beer and a bowl of crisps ready to watch. That duck is getting more air time that the mighty Titan at the moment by the way. 😂
Oh woaw Thank you so much David what a lovely comment, yes shes currently taking over all the air time to aid her greediness😂 im scared the Titan may get jealous and hoover her up...will have to wait and see take care have a lovely week
Brill video guys, entertaining as always. Love that duck ❤ cracking job getting I there to paint, claustrophobia overload haha. Like the corner unit too, much better. Keep it up guys 😉
Thanks dude, she cant stay away at the moment...must be my evil naan breads. we have actually got some duck food now so no-one can complain anymore ,take care buddy
Hi guys, love the channel you two are so good together. Have you thought of making bath room into a walk through bathroom. It would give you more room. just a thought. Keep up the good work.
Becca always wanted to build in a walk in bathroom...it would be tempting but will it open a bigger tin of worms??thanks for your suggestion have a great week :)
I have watched all of your adventures with the boat. I don’t comment I tend to blab way to much. I will attempt to keep this short (yeah right). Your a great team I so respect and admire you both and firmly believe you will succeed in this restoration. Whew short comment by my standards 😅. Look forward many more vids n updates. May Peace Health and Happiness follow you and yours
Thank you so much for your lovely non blabby comment 😂 were getting there slowly...fingers crossed once this water tank turns up things start moving alot faster, take care have a great week
Condensation is a real pain, but if I can be so bold as to suggest that you put a couple of 12v computer fans behind your vents, that way you are completely sure that there is a good airflow continuously moving in that little space. 12v and hardly any current will run of your batter system no problem.
Can’t do small tight spaces and heights just watching you both was really scary. Shame the little square cupboard wouldn’t fit as it would have looked nice with a feature wall in the bathroom of the same coloured timber buy I also love the new one. To be honest I really liked the old one too but yeah way to big for the space. Another fun vlog guys and so good to see you. Take care and see you soon. 💕
Such an awful area to operate in, Its quite hard to picture the Bathroom when it's such a tip. Thank you so much for watching again and again take care Pauline
I believe that in the beginning you found that your hot water tank had split and that had caused the major part of the water in the bilges issue. It is highly unlikely that condensation in your bowthruster area has caused that amount of water to accumulate in the boat. I have a very similar bowthruster compartment with adjacent water tank and apart from a few occasional droplets forming on the colder tank skin which subsequently evaporate, I have no issues with condensation.
yes he tank did have a leak.. our friend actually found a few leaks on the boat, but then we found that even when we had no water on the boat water was getting in to the bilges, we could well be wrong to fully blame it on condensation but it has definitely played a part...our bow thruster area has always suffered from alot of condensation
Bit by bit, piece by piece you home is turning out to ... a home! Have you thought about wool when deciding which insulation to use around the bow thruster? I also think you should get a duck-hatch for that friendly, but angry, little bird of yours
haha the duck hatch is a great idea...that way she could just come inside when she wants. we haven't really thought about wool...the cheapest option seams to be these exercise mats I do believe others have used them and they have been great thank you
If it’s possible I would consider installing a couple of 12v PC fans or even 24v if your system will allow. They are extremely efficient & silent & ideal for circulation & ventilation. You can even hook it up with a moisture sensor so it only comes on when necessary. I think Big Clive covers this in one of his latest uploads 👊💚
Hi Becca, Chris, Wow! The Bow Thrust area is so tight/small to do anything in. Well done to you both for such an amazing Bitumen paint job (in that area). I could never do what you did. Really good to see the Duck (part of your family now), he's such a little star. I liked all your cabinets, but what a great final choice. Have a great week. Thank you for another excellent and amazing Vlog. Take care. (Spoolbox)
It's a horrid little area. Becca doesn't seam to have the same moany problems as me 😂 Iv never seen a duck this confident...hopefully it won't get her in trouble , t Have a lovely week Spoolbox take care
I would point your attention toward the fact that the warm air can hold more water in it then the cold air can, without any water condensing out (if you cool it too fast, you get fog). Bitumen couldn't remove the condensation, but will protect the hull from rust better then the regular paint. You would need to separate (almost) airtight the space from the heated cabin space, so the warm air stops entering that cold space and condensing. It happens in the walls too, of the house, if there is too much insulation, air inside the wall condenses so you must use something called vapor barrier to prevent condensation inside the wall. You can't stop it any other way and the walls would get moldy and damaged. Planning to get a boat soon to live on it, and built it if I manage to get something not built and not too expensive. Greetings from Dublin! :)
hi from the uk 🇬🇧 oh this is interesting, we have a few ideas on things that will helps...thanks for all your tips, it seams like a never ending battle...and a silly area to put the burner if you have a bow thruster right next to it, good luck on your boaty adventure
@@TheNomadicCrobot Bah, everyone is selling rusty hulls with heavy make up of cabin for 40000€ or more, and many desperate people are buying it without a problem. People making good money out of it, mostly untaxed. Anyway, that hard foam sandwitched between aluminium foils is perfect, best thing woud be to build a box around whole living space. As for condensation, I think in your case easiest thing would be to separate that space from warm cabin air better. Best of luck!
Put those condensation crystal things in, they come in a little tub b&q sell them we got some you will be surprised how much water they collect, they're not expensive when tub is full tip it away and put it back in place. I like your corner unit
One of our neighbours at the marina actually suggested this, I think it could be a great idea, she said every few months she has to empty them, thanks for your great suggestion 😀
Good to see you back guys, the boat is coming on nicely. You are both being upstaged by your little waddling friend, that duck is hilarious, anyway take care you two and I look forward to the next vlog.😃
Love the corner cupboard idea. Hopefully you are near the end of the condensation problems. Have you done under the bathroom floor or are you at the end of the scrape and aqua-seal era now.
yes weve finished the scrapping process through the whole entire boat now after 2 long years..yay.now just to get hot water and solar on board and we should be ready to go, thank you for your comment :)
@@TheNomadicCrobot it will come back... It's a boat. I know you folks are new to boating but steel tubes in various heats and various sweaty 🥵 people will always make it damp at times. What you've done will save you in the long run and you should be super proud of both the boat and your channel 🥰
Nice one I wud use Celtec installation just cut it to size how you won’t it and if you pass any building sites or house renovations look in the skip for off cuts you don’t need a lot I did mi mate garage with off cut I asked a few sites just to put it to one side for me saved Loeds of duh have a Top week guys 🙂🎸🔧✌️
Wanted to be first but can’t think of anything to say, yet 😂 😂 Just a thought, how about fitting a small sump pump in there. It won't stop the condensation but at least it will always be dry.
Thank you, we do actually want to fit a pump in there and 2 at the back of the boat just to be extra sure, god could you imagine if water is still coming in after all this nonsense
id have cut a hatch above that bow thruster years ago ,,, are you going to get it sorted , a thruster is a mighty handy bit of kit , when it works . if your not fixing it , plate over the holes on the hull and use the space ,, win win really.... but Id still have a hatch.
Yeah I think there were a few design flaws whenever it was put in really, you're right, a hatch would have been very useful. We aren't exactly sure what we are going to do but it might be worthwhile us finding out what costs are involved for each option. Apparently it was a sheer pin that had gone and was why the thruster wasn't working in which case it might be an easy fix but we need someone to have a good look at it really. Thanks for your comment 😊
@@TheNomadicCrobot if its only a shear pin you would be laughing ,,, a thrusters always handy , keep at it , one day you will get a step or two ahead , then your laughing.
Hi Both if the bow thruster is duff will the motor part come off the via a coupling, I've tried looking as you film but cannot see. Pity cannot bung holes up either side stop water getting in the tub. Keep smiling Steve
Thanks for your insight, we had read a few other people using it very successfully, it's definitely something we will have to look into a bit more by the sounds of things

Well, this fat feathered rat needs his fix. ps: just trying to make y'all laugh.

I think the duck needs her very own RUclips channel...we could call it 'cute greedy little buggers' 😭😭 thank you Stewart
Thanks for the video…excellent job…be safe!
thank you , have a great week
Love the corner cupboard idea. Hopefully you are near the end of the condensation problems. Have you done under the bathroom floor or are you at the end of the scrape and aqua-seal era now.
yes weve finished the scrapping process through the whole entire boat now after 2 long years..yay.now just to get hot water and solar on board and we should be ready to go, thank you for your comment :)
Great but I don't think you'll know if it's working until October time when temperatures do the funny thing 😁
Keep up the amazing work guys!
That is a very good point...imagine if the water comes back 😭
@@TheNomadicCrobot it will come back...
Oh that's interesting thanks for the tips, will keep a look out, keeping the costs down is huge for us at this stage, have a lovely week 😀
Wanted to be first but can’t think of anything to say, yet 😂 😂
Just a thought, how about fitting a small sump pump in there.

I need a crobot fix when is the next video being posted guys? Gav
Thanks so much Gav,we should have a video up in thr next few hours,we've been bit busy the last weeks thanks for sticking with us 😀
Hi Both if the bow thruster is duff will the motor part come off the via a coupling, I've tried looking as you film but cannot see. Pity cannot bung holes up either side stop water getting in the tub.
Keep smiling
Steve
it probably would actually, and make the job alot easier..I dear try it incase I flood the boat haha cheers Steve
Yes no need big flood. But worth asking looking in to.
On another thunk bubble wrap around the tube be good tie on with string.
Steve
Haha Chris did you know that you walk like tha duck 😂😂
Why thank you 😊
Foam will soak up any moisture! Definitely vent it, and that should be enough!
Please don’t use foam!
Thanks for your insight, we had read a few other people using it very successfully, it's definitely something we will have to look into a bit more by the sounds of things
And if You're not RICH 🤑 - 'like You Two' 😉- and you don't have any Olive Oil 🤔- Butter works wonders TOO! 👌😎
haha butter me up Bex 😂
Only the Crobots can make such a shitty job entertaining! Btw. phrase of the episode: "lateral thrust"..yeah baby
An awful job...I think I'll leave Bex to do it all next time....shes doesn't panic as much as me haha thank you for watching :)
Why do you start each blog like it’s the first time for everyone we really don’t need a recap guys we are hooked as it is
Sorry, its mainly so that new people know the stage were up too, us sometimes it's been a few weeks, I do try and change it up a bit and make everytime different hope it's not to frustrating, maybe it's something we need to work on
I missed the Chris humour and moaning 😄😄😄
thank you....time for some more moaning.. were actually putting one up today....but there's one slight problem....
@@TheNomadicCrobot .... Becs will eventually clobber you 🤣🤣 you both offset each other so well, she's so calm and methodical, not to mention super effective in all that she does, whilst I have my weekly dose of humour with your witty comments etc. Actually I think you are way more capable than you let on. Needs must 😁
I think I read somewhere in some intergalactic educational resource that some aliens experience brain expansion when overthinking things. Sometimes it goes horribly wrong and.....ack ack ack ack...brain explodes. This could be what attracts brain-eating spiders. They are waiting, waiting...........😁
🕷🕷🕷🕷🕷🕷🕷🕷🕷🕷🕷🕷🕷🕷
you have caught us time and time again 😂😂 the only thing that will make us leave this planet is the evil spiders...they are your only hope....lucky for us we have marigolds for the spider extraction process... were coming for you all😂
Sell it by a caravan that boats given you nothing but trouble not having eney luck with it I followed you two from day one you deserve all the luck in the world only joking don't Sell it😊
now that sounds like a plan haha we would have actually loved to have gotten a caravan...thank you so much David for the support
Six p's prior planning prevents piss poor performance ❗
something like that 😂
Becks, I've been fraught with fever. Cold sweats during the nighttime. I'm delirious, but actually that is normal. I call out in my dreams "GET THE BIG STICK BECKS....BECK, GET THE BIG STICK". I find myself mindlessly spinning household items randomly and making sound effects with my mouth. I desperately need a fix. A CROBOT FIX.....A NICE LONG CHRIS AND REBECCA CROBOT FIX STREAMING ON MY BIG SCREEN. After all, it's been fourteen long days. You once broadcast new every two or three days. B.F. Skinner called it intermittent reinforcement. He experimented on pigeons, and once hooked, those fat feathered rats with wings, would be spinning all around eagerly waiting for their tiny food pellet. Well, this fat feathered rat needs his fix.
ps: just trying to make y'all laugh.
haha this is hilarious, I also have cold sweats in the night and ofter wake up screaming at bex to grab the stick. its been a few weeks again...so sorry ...a very slow month with both of us being away, but we are back today...and weve already got the follow up video ready for the following midday, thanks so much for the support John
Moan Moan Moan. You should be on one foot in the grave lol
haha love a moan 😂
@@TheNomadicCrobot if you Moan this much good job you are not a woman lol
Devil's advocate here, if your not using the bow thruster, and are not going to use it, why not just remove the engine to gain the access?
We do want to get it running actually, but half of me thinks just get shot of the bloody thing 😅😂
@@TheNomadicCrobot just dismantle it until you make up your mind then. Will make insulation of the space easier
Chris the mask goes over your mouth not your head 😂😂 only joking great vid.
oh yeah great point 😂 thank you
