I can definitely cut out a lot more than I did in the video, but the goal of the summaries is to not leave out anything important to the main story. Ch. 1 - Ch. 10 had a lot of dedicated stories only meant for world building/lore explanations which meant I could skip it or condense it to a small explanation. This is just not the case after Chapter 10. Aside from the random T-Dolls that appear and have scenes to advertise them, every scene starts to matter in some way (and even the random T-Dolls start becoming story-relevant later on). 2. *You mispronounced "Bel-gra-de"!*: I'm sorry! I was confident I was right so I never checked. I'm an American weeb so I'm forced to improve as I go. *Ep.3?*: I got Ep 2 out crazy fast but it was at the cost of ignoring the holiday season. Appreciate all the work you do man, but please, don't ignore your own rest for the sake of a video. The game will be there once you're well rested, and there will still be people looking for recaps because frankly, understanding the entirety of GFL1 is such a herculean task that barely anyone has done it. Fantastic work, dude. As someone who only played up to around chapter 5 in GFL1 and is now full swing into GFL2, your videos are a god send in getting some better understanding of the world and lore. Keep it up (please), but also remember to take care of yourself in the meantime!
My only recommendation here, and I could be heavily outvoted, is that the specifics of any of the given singular engagement could be narrowed down a lot more. To understand the plot and chain of events, we don't really need to know "M4 starts shooting at so and so, then they shot at AK-12, but actually AN-94 was flanking then the whole time!" Yada-yada, so on and so forth. "The team worked together to outmaneuver the enemies." Would be entirely sufficient... But im sure there are probably a lot of people who enjoy long and specific videos, so le shrug. It just feels like there is WAY too much granular details provided here to call it a "extremely abbreviated summary" at this point.
@@CurtDegree I've been back 'n forth on this while I was working on this. I could definitely just cut it down to "M4 and AK-12 gets attacked by the ringleaders but they saw this coming and they ended up dominating the fight." I decided against it because it emphasizes on how smart/strong M4 and AK-12 is compared to the competition. Overall though I always look out for feedback when it comes to stuff like this, because it's true that I can reduce the combat details and it'd lower the runtime by a good amount.
Isomer is the peak exemple of "You really thought Singularity and Continuum turbulence situation went FUBAR? Hold my Beer and the others bigboys behind me will make me look like the appetizer"
And only for chapter 11 and Isomer event :) Shattered Connexion and Polarized Light will be very spicy. These 2 event's plot points are even showcased in the Flames of War gfl2 trailer because of how good they are in the story lol
Belgrade is not an independent country, it's a city within the Yugoslavian Federation (mentioned a few times as an independent entity from both NSU and Pan-European Union), which is a neutral country, hence why it was chosen for the conference. Belgrade used to be the capital city of Yugoslavia (IRL modern day Serbia), but the capital was moved elsewhere due to the city's proximity to the contaminated zones. Pronounciation was... rough, to say the least. The closest to English would be "bell - grade", or "bell - grad", depending on where you are. The native name is "Beograd" (Beo - grad), literally transalted to "The White City". The monument to WW3 victims which Ange stands in front of is actuall a real life monument, "Monument to the Unkown Hero", although IRL it was dedicated to the victims of the first two Balkan Wars and WW1, which was built to honor the people who fought for the unification of the first Yugoslavia. So even the GFL interpretation of it was the same as the IRL interpretation of the monument. The cathedral the Commander hunkered down in is also a faithful recreation of the "Church of Saint Sava", one of the largest Christian Orthodox churches in the world (and Christian churches in general). The building where the conference took place is the parliament building of Serbia, which looks pretty much exactly the same as in game. The last stand of the garrisson officer Dragovic is reminiscent of the WW1 last stand in Belgrade by the Serbian army, where the whole company stood their ground in the city of Belgrade, with a very popular and historic speech by major Dragutin Gavrilovic (funnilly enough, when you combine first part of the name Dragutin and the last part of the last name Gavrilovic, you get Dragovic), where the three battalions under his command stood their ground against the German and Austro-Hungarian combined attack on capital city Belgrade. I just want to let you know that your doing a freaking amazing job! The pacing is better, the extra details are great and help with understanding everything. I feel it's a lot easier to keep up with all thats going on. Taking the time to explain things, concepts, character feelings, etc, has painted a much clearer story and I really appreciate it. It's been years since I've played GFL1 and watching this has been a great help as I go into GFL2. Shattered Connexion was the last major story event I can recall so I'm really excited to see that and all the other major story events because playing GFL2 I know some major stuff went down between where I left off and the present. Thank you for doing this, my time is limited and I'm not sure I'd be able to get caught up otherwise.

GFL2 is my first experience with the series, and I feel like they've handled recurring characters well in a narrative way - I do not feel like I've missed out as a new player, but instead, curious of the history between the Commander and the characters. Hehehe, well major events at this point of the story are 60 stages or more :). To compare, if we to compare regular chapter stages with their emergency and night type stages, they only add up to 14 stages.
This is amazing work. As someone who played GFL for a few years, I struggled to keep up with the main storyline. Watching this has made a lot of what I played make perfect sense. So thanks again.

finnally got around to watch this 2 video though I am still at 1h mark, gotta say idk if i speak for all but at least i would love to see in depth character for example what does groza do in the 1 game how does she come in contact with comander why is she an outlier and can be with comander if her personality is diferent from what it was before. since this is gatcha game alot of emphase is put on individual characters and people tend to want to know about their favorite ones this would make shorter videos that casuals could look for, there is allready videos about chapther 1/ this newer content (btw i dont een know if somo of the info is available i just look for these in other games) good video

@@cropathfinder Mate gonna have to respond to these statements. The gender of the commander is NOT canonically female. The anime and manga may have USED Gentiane (a female), but the game does not have a canon gender with Gfl2 reinforcing this. The anime and manga used her due to it being more simple and how are were they gonna show the commander without a gender for a show lol. A black circle and question mark in the middle is not going to fare well lol. Also, he DID NOT change the narrative. The narrative he has told follows the event stages in order as the game has them for simplicity AND he has cut things out due to him having to try and balance video length AND also make it not too complicated. Anything he has cut out is not super major to the storyline. For example, sure the last video part 1 cut of a good chunk of 404's story but thats alright since in the main view scene, it is practically mostly a side show in the lore that just introduces the squad with its actions, in that event, important connections to the main story being mostly easy to explain in a good couple sentences.

Thanks for doing part 2. I feel like I learned alot. Some things taht stood out 1. So Kallina kinda loves the Commander? 2. In the pevious part 1. AR-15 when betraying and joining SF becaue of the virus. Didnt she say she despised the AR team. How she despised everyone and called them idiots, and becoming SF, she felt she was free from those baffons ? Then AR-15 blows up, is found again with Agenlina and nothing about his is ever mentioned again ? 3- I thought for sure last part it mentioned Agent was destoryed by the military, so they can rebuild their ringleaders? I thought Judge had met her end too, but she appearred in this part as well. 4- Felt kinda nice to see them reunited ath the end of this part 2. Looked like a touching reuinion. Ive always liked RO, she seems cooi, but I think SOP II is growing alot on me too.
1. Very attached. They've worked together for over a year now. Love is debatable. 2. AR-15 is a fraud. She talks tough but is actually a big softie. 3. SF rebuilds their ringleaders frequently. So does Griffin with T-Dolls. As long as the Doll's neural cloud data is intact they can be put in a new body.

For anyone wondering, yeah the Bureau of State Security or BGB is the Soviet Reunion's ("Neo" SU is a stupid name) version of the old Union's Committee of State Security, or the KGB.
You know, when I got into GFL back in 2020, I really wasn't expecting to get slapped with 40k levels of lore for what's essentially just a depressing game about cute girls with guns
This is where the story gets very long mate :D The video is able to cover that much since each chapter is only 6 stages with emergency and night battles to compliment is 4 each giving a total of 14 stages of story to cover for each chapter but with night battles not being too significant lore, I will just say 10. The events from chapters 1-10 were also only about 5-6 stages per chapter with events usually having 2--4 chapters. Adding onto this, the dialogue for each stage was relatively short or moderately long. Past these chapters though, the events became way more bigger with 60-90 stages long with dialogue also being lengthened and more deep in info. Hero is gonna have to make mutiple parts to cover them tbh since he still has 14 major events with the addition of chapter 12 and 13 with where currently is in the lore rn.

Takes a lot of time looking through 6+ hours of dialogue per event and reading the 600 pages of lore organized on docs which many dont have (I verifably have questioned my life doing all that lol) so we have to thank Hero for doing this :D.

Touched on this in Episode 1. Pikes are basically the interface or console that allows a user to interact with OGAS. This is necessary to access powerful relic systems.

Well, I was kind of wondering why there were no American AR's in Exilium... thanks for informing me that it's because they're way too plot-important to be recruitable yet.
So...what happens if they find all of the spike nodes? Does M4 or M16 reach a godlike status or something? or is it another ploy on M4 so she could have another breakdown?
Whoever found out all pike nodes will have the right to open the gate to Zion (an out of universe space time continuum digitized consciousness alien virtual world) and use thise alien's Relic technology to master Collapse and Reverse Collapse phenomenom.
Collapse phenomenom enable human to deconstruct an object into most fundamental form. Reverse Collapse phenomenom enable human to reconstruct all fundamental matter into its original form. These two phenomenom enables humans to be God.
In the end of GFL 1, M4A1 already merged with coalescent OGAS Consciousness to create Lunasia von Oberstein. She is the key that will enable humans that interacted with pike nide to access Zion.
To sum up what minuteman said, since he is correct, the pike nodes allow the opening of the gate to Zion which is a weird alien virtual world thing. If you activate a relic, you are able to use collapse and reverse collapse particles to create phenomenas such as teleporting. Minute saying M4A1 merging with ogas (all according to William's plan) actually happens in an event after this video so you won't probably understand that yet unless you ask for the context. This allows her to be accepted by the relic technology and become basically a key that activates them and can use the particles in anyway she likes. It is however important to note the relic sites are what allows this not the pike nodes, the nodes are just a step in activating the sites I believe from memory.

If I remember correctly, this video covers the events relating to the Isomer event. After Isomer, the order is Shattered Connexion, Polarized Light, Dual Randomness, Mirror Stage, Poincare Recurrence, Fixed Point, Longitudinal Strain, Eclipse and Saros, Slow Shock, Garden of Forking Paths, Cartesian Theater, and the upcoming Zero Charge. I think there are 2 more events after that.

@@fanis1414 Yes, in fact, some future major events are even more story dense. The story is what kept most people playing the game. 8 years of metal gear-like content will take a while to summarize. It's not a race or anything, take it at your own pace. Personally, Dandelion's arrival really improves the story, she provides much needed comic relief and sass. You could try reading through the events yourself. Depending how quickly you read, you might go through the story quicker than listening to someone else summarize things for you.
This video stops at Isomer which is chapter 11.5 GFL 1's story ends at Chapter 15 and inbetween those there are lots of major story events that happened.
Not gonna lie, not far into GF2 so currently wondering if the commander of the second is still the same commander or not. The fact that I have yet to see any of the dolls mentioned in both parts of this seems evidence atm of a new commander with few or no ties to the first commander (to myself so far at least).
It is the same Commander in both GF1 and 2. All of the returning human and doll characters from GF1 remember you and want to meet you again: Kalin, Suomi, KSVK/Dushevnaya, WkP/Littara, WA2000/Makiatto, MP7/Cheeta, etc. Also, the conversation between Griffin and the Commander in the opening of GF2's story, and the Commander's reaction to discovering that Paradeus still exists further reinforces the fact that it's the same Commander.

finnally got around to watch this 2 video though I am still at 1h mark, gotta say idk if i speak for all but at least i would love to see in depth character for example what does groza do in the 1 game how does she come in contact with comander why is she an outlier and can be with comander if her personality is diferent from what it was before. since this is gatcha game alot of emphase is put on individual characters and people tend to want to know about their favorite ones this would make shorter videos that casuals could look for, there is allready videos about chapther 1/ this newer content (btw i dont een know if somo of the info is available i just look for these in other games) good video

@@cropathfinder Mate gonna have to respond to these statements. The gender of the commander is NOT canonically female. The anime and manga may have USED Gentiane (a female), but the game does not have a canon gender with Gfl2 reinforcing this. The anime and manga used her due to it being more simple and how are were they gonna show the commander without a gender for a show lol. A black circle and question mark in the middle is not going to fare well lol. Also, he DID NOT change the narrative. The narrative he has told follows the event stages in order as the game has them for simplicity AND he has cut things out due to him having to try and balance video length AND also make it not too complicated. Anything he has cut out is not super major to the storyline. For example, sure the last video part 1 cut of a good chunk of 404's story but thats alright since in the main view scene, it is practically mostly a side show in the lore that just introduces the squad with its actions, in that event, important connections to the main story being mostly easy to explain in a good couple sentences.

Some things taht stood out
1. So Kallina kinda loves the Commander?
2. In the pevious part 1. AR-15 when betraying and joining SF becaue of the virus. Didnt she say she despised the AR team. How she despised everyone and called them idiots, and becoming SF, she felt she was free from those baffons ? Then AR-15 blows up, is found again with Agenlina and nothing about his is ever mentioned again ?
3- I thought for sure last part it mentioned Agent was destoryed by the military, so they can rebuild their ringleaders? I thought Judge had met her end too, but she appearred in this part as well.
4- Felt kinda nice to see them reunited ath the end of this part 2. Looked like a touching reuinion. Ive always liked RO, she seems cooi, but I think SOP II is growing alot on me too.
1. Very attached. They've worked together for over a year now. Love is debatable.
2. AR-15 is a fraud. She talks tough but is actually a big softie.
3. SF rebuilds their ringleaders frequently. So does Griffin with T-Dolls. As long as the Doll's neural cloud data is intact they can be put in a new body.

This is where the story gets very long mate :D
The video is able to cover that much since each chapter is only 6 stages with emergency and night battles to compliment is 4 each giving a total of 14 stages of story to cover for each chapter but with night battles not being too significant lore, I will just say 10. The events from chapters 1-10 were also only about 5-6 stages per chapter with events usually having 2--4 chapters. Adding onto this, the dialogue for each stage was relatively short or moderately long.
Past these chapters though, the events became way more bigger with 60-90 stages long with dialogue also being lengthened and more deep in info. Hero is gonna have to make mutiple parts to cover them tbh since he still has 14 major events with the addition of chapter 12 and 13 with where currently is in the lore rn.

@@Roxas13XIII Yup, these videos are great since lore is quite a scarce topic on youtube for this game. Takes a lot of time looking through 6+ hours of dialogue per event and reading the 600 pages of lore organized on docs which many dont have (I verifably have questioned my life doing all that lol) so we have to thank Hero for doing this :D.

Touched on this in Episode 1. Pikes are basically the interface or console that allows a user to interact with OGAS. This is necessary to access powerful relic systems.

Whoever found out all pike nodes will have the right to open the gate to Zion (an out of universe space time continuum digitized consciousness alien virtual world) and use thise alien's Relic technology to master Collapse and Reverse Collapse phenomenom.
Collapse phenomenom enable human to deconstruct an object into most fundamental form. Reverse Collapse phenomenom enable human to reconstruct all fundamental matter into its original form. These two phenomenom enables humans to be God.
In the end of GFL 1, M4A1 already merged with coalescent OGAS Consciousness to create Lunasia von Oberstein. She is the key that will enable humans that interacted with pike nide to access Zion.

To sum up what minuteman said, since he is correct, the pike nodes allow the opening of the gate to Zion which is a weird alien virtual world thing. If you activate a relic, you are able to use collapse and reverse collapse particles to create phenomenas such as teleporting. Minute saying M4A1 merging with ogas (all according to William's plan) actually happens in an event after this video so you won't probably understand that yet unless you ask for the context. This allows her to be accepted by the relic technology and become basically a key that activates them and can use the particles in anyway she likes. It is however important to note the relic sites are what allows this not the pike nodes, the nodes are just a step in activating the sites I believe from memory.

If I remember correctly, this video covers the events relating to the Isomer event. After Isomer, the order is Shattered Connexion, Polarized Light, Dual Randomness, Mirror Stage, Poincare Recurrence, Fixed Point, Longitudinal Strain, Eclipse and Saros, Slow Shock, Garden of Forking Paths, Cartesian Theater, and the upcoming Zero Charge. I think there are 2 more events after that.

@@fanis1414 Yes, in fact, some future major events are even more story dense. The story is what kept most people playing the game. 8 years of metal gear-like content will take a while to summarize. It's not a race or anything, take it at your own pace. Personally, Dandelion's arrival really improves the story, she provides much needed comic relief and sass. You could try reading through the events yourself. Depending how quickly you read, you might go through the story quicker than listening to someone else summarize things for you.
This video stops at Isomer which is chapter 11.5
GFL 1's story ends at Chapter 15 and inbetween those there are lots of major story events that happened.
im loving the recap so far as i havent played GFL1 since 2021, but my brother in christ it's pronounced bel-grade/bel-grayd not bel-grah-day.
Not gonna lie, not far into GF2 so currently wondering if the commander of the second is still the same commander or not. The fact that I have yet to see any of the dolls mentioned in both parts of this seems evidence atm of a new commander with few or no ties to the first commander (to myself so far at least).
It is the same Commander in both GF1 and 2. All of the returning human and doll characters from GF1 remember you and want to meet you again: Kalin, Suomi, KSVK/Dushevnaya, WkP/Littara, WA2000/Makiatto, MP7/Cheeta, etc. Also, the conversation between Griffin and the Commander in the opening of GF2's story, and the Commander's reaction to discovering that Paradeus still exists further reinforces the fact that it's the same Commander.
