Absolutely incredible work ! I watched your cover simultaneously with the official song on youtube and apart from minor pitch differences in some part and a light amount of extra reverb on the Gilmour version you really can't hear a difference !
thank you for listening, I used an pitch shifter for those super high notes :) You can hear the effect is still on during the slide down after the top note
thanks man, I don' t think it can surpass the original, there are nuances of the slide that I just can' t imitate with this technique. It' s definitely interesting that it can be achieved through a whammy bar with similar results though :)
Another diamond in your collection, signor Nick! Heartfelt congrats on another milestone. Did you use Neural DSP this time again? If so, please kindly share the clean DI for lead tone chasings. Thank you!
Thanks a lot! Updated the description with a link to the DI wav file. I had old strings on my guitar for this one, so it will sound dull. Might need some EQ adjustments. Good luck :)
Ibanez RG652AHM guitar and Neural DSP's Archetype: Cory Wong for the tone. All my Gilmour covers are with that plugin. I've even done Malmsteen with it. Amazingly versatile :)
I was trying to understand the technique, you raise the bridge when you go up the fretboard and you lower the bridge when you go down to simulate the overcompensation of using a slide, right?
Basically yes, I also use it as a way to extend the range of my bends like at 1:22 for example. So I can do a whole tone bend and simultaneously pull the bar up to get another 1, 2 or even more semitones. Then if you gradually release the bar and the bend you get a drop that covers several frets but sounds smooth like a fretless instrument.. or a slide 🙂
most impressive thing i have seen this week

thank you kindly, I actually did a by-ear note for note transcription of the original so I could practice my slide imitation with the trem bar :)
@@NickZoumakis You are indeed very talented, keep it up
Superb tone. Superb technique. Hats off brother
Really well done. It’s one of my all-time favorite solos. So much emotion in it. And that super high note…. Love it.

Incredible emulation of the slider. Super super skilled, my man. Omg, and I didn't even get to the whammy pedal part. So smart.
thanks! tried the high octave part with harmonics but couldn't get it to sustain right, so I used a pitch shifter instead :)
GREAT TECHNIQUE... VERY EMOTIONAL...
Superb cover. Great guitar tone and ply🎸🎸👍👍
Excellent, great feelings
super impressive and fidel to the original, in sound, tone, feel, everything really.
Great! 👏👏👏
Really impressive technique… so fluid. Great job
Very good!👋👋👋
Righteous wielding of the Edge :) Well played!
Amazing
Great job Nick!!
OMG Im not sure which one is better: this version or the original. David Gilmour is a God but your version is so incredible.

Very good!!!!!!!! did you use Digitech Whammy 5?
I didn't have one, so I programmed a pitch shifter automation in cubase instead

About 15 years. Only got serious about electric in the last 2 though. Thanks for stopping by :)
