Here I am, 4 years after your trip, looking for an inspirational cycling path and found you and your brave son! My daughter is now 5 md I am already wondering my little family doing this route. Congrats on this amazing endeavor!
Bravo to you for taking your son on such a great adventure. You and your wife have instilled in this young mind a silent confidence he will retain for the rest of his wonderful life. Congrats to both of you for taking such a inspiring young guide.
I saw this movie in march 2021 and I loved it. Especially your brave son was an inspiration. In may 2022 I’ll put my bike on a train to Switserland to start my own Rhine Route. Thank you very much for the inspiration!
Wow, im so impressed by this little guy :) i want to do this route, but I was afraid to do it solo. Now, seeing this young gentlemen handling it so well, I'm not afraid anymore :D
Vouz etes un homme bon, OK ill forget trying to remember my schoolboy French. Hey awesome, great to see a family on the bike and yes its really good to see a boy of 5 anns out on an adventure. In 2018 I cycled from Amsterdam to Norway, we were doing the same thing, as many others were. I salute you and wish you live long and flourish.
Thank you very much! We just came back from another tour. Azur is 7 now and rode even more challenging landscape this time. Soon the movie! (When we’ll have time to edit it!! )
Looking at doing this route in 2022, your video is fantastic and your boy and your parenting skills are amazing. Brilliant and heart-warming. Thanks for sharing.
That was so beautiful! My daughter has CP and I would have love to do a biking adventure like this! We found other adventures to do but your trip would have been my number 1 dream! Again, so beautiful!!! All the best
Great video, thanks very much. In July I'm doing the same route, except I start in Hook of Holland and then go to Basel. I think I can do it and I really have to after your wonderful son did it. Thanks for sharing this. :)
Hello Stewart. I am sure you will love it, but I can't recommend enough not to stop in Basel. In fact I would happily do the whole of the Swiss part and the Constance Lake again, but I am a bit less keen on the French part in between Strasbourg and Basel (Where the route doesn't follow the Rhine anymore, but the canal Rhone-Rhine)... Germany was interesting but quite busy with some cities also... Can I ask why not starting from the source at the top of the mountain... the ride isn't that difficult, and it is so rewarding :)
@@sixspinninglegs Hi thanks for getting back to me. I originally was going to do Eurovelo 6 and start in France, then I found the 15 and thought that it was a better place to start if I do it in reverse. I've got the Cicerone guide books. I'm planning on stopping in Basel as I have friends there and hope to spend a few days with them. If I manage to get there and am feeling ok about riding on my own, I hope then join route 6 and follow the Danube and see how far I get. :)
Hello and congrats to all your family for completing the trail and thank you for sharing the movie. I do have question, if I may: how are the certificates for completion procured? thanks in advance
I love this so much. Gives us hope that when we have kids we can still keep cycke touring! Thank you for sharing :) great edit and lovely music. How did you do these moving maps? I want to make a full movie and would love to add this
loved your video! how long did this take you? i am trying to plan a bike trip in may 2024 and deciding between eurovelo 15 and the danube cycle path from passau to budapest. Based on your video i'm leaning toward the former!
Wow, this is our dream! We have an almost 5 yr old boy and would love to do cycling adventures with him. How do you keep your son motivated to keep going?
@@CedricFangeat thanks mate 👍 we are in Australia 🇦🇺 and will be using our Bromptons for the entire trip down the Rhine 👍 our friends think we are mad 😄😄😄😄
Keeping It Real I am sorry to hear that. Keep your spirit up. I was diagnosed with Lyme disease 3 years ago. When we did the Rhine I was already ill, but not as much as a year after, which is why we didn’t cycle last summer. But this year we went, despite the condition which is chronic and has not really improved. In fact, I was at the best when being on the road... keep my finger crossed for you!
Thats so cool unfortunately i was hit by a car 3.2 years ago which I was recovering from and just got back on a bike when i got this latest episode. Our kind of situations make it even more important to live life rather than worry about dying. I am hoping to do loads next year as soon as the weather clears. But am inspired by you ...

May I ask, how do you do map animation?

Great biking, great parenting. I wanted to do that trip and now I know I will. Azur is inspiring (I am only half a century older than him).

This settles it! I have to ride this route! Can't believe your little guy kept at it all those days!
Glad you like it and that it inspires you to ride it too!
What a stunning adventure. Very impressed with Azur. Thanks for sharing these films of your trips.
Thanks for sharing your family experience riding across Europe. Beaufifull
Congratulations to all three of you, and especially your son, for reaching the north sea! Very enjoyable to watch!

Great film. It was great to see your son learning to ride hands free! And free.

inspiring video
So happy you liked the video ! Thank you.
@@sixspinninglegs my wife is Chinese and we have a baby, so it is more interesting for me:)
@@LongDaNow Excellent! How old is your baby, and where are you based? Do you have any plan for a cycling trip sometime soon?
@@sixspinninglegs baby is 10 months old, unfortunately can't make trip soon but when he grew, i ll consider.
Wonderful achievement and your son has a great spirit! How did you all go with the hills in the fist leg through the Alpines?
hey man, how did you edit the map animation? did you use a program for it?
It is done in After Effect.

Is the route well marked? Or should you have a GPS?
I'm thinking a gps wouldn't hurt. It seems to be reasonably well marked but even then it can be easy to lose the trail on occasion.
The kid has better bike handling skills than me!
Excellent video 👍 we are hoping to do it when Covid allows us to fly …. Did you
Freedom camp 🏕?
Thank you! We went to a campsite every 2 or 3 other night. Maybe 9 or10 nights out of the 26 we spent on the way.
Go for it you will like it!

hello super
I was supposed to do it literally now but the Chinese have stopped my plans....
Hope you found somewhere else to go. We cycled in England instead of travelling to France as we wanted. There is always a way...
