The office pen thing is too extreme. There is middle ground between spending 12k and zero on pens. Just let employees know that there is a limit on supplies purchased each year. Our accountants did that to us.
@periwinkle blue I'm not suggesting that a business keep spending 12k/year on pens. There is a middle ground. To go to work at a place with no pens is insane. A good employer gives their employees the tools to get their job done. Like I said, they can put a limit so if people are stealing pens then they'll have to buy their own.
I disagree about the fake jewelry. Here is some math for you: my mother purchased a simple real gold and opal ring and necklace that were about$400 total for my graduation. It's now been 17 years and I've never lost a stone or damaged them and i wear them maybe twice a week. The cost for how many times I've worn them is so low. And if I decide to sell they are worth something. I've bought many many fake jewelry pieces that get worn for a few months and then discarded because of tarnish. If i spend$30 quarterly each year for 17 years that's about $2000 and I have nothing to show for it. Now of course if you're going to go wild and purchase a lot of expensive jewelry that may be a waste, but a good real gold or silver set you can wear all the time with many outfits is a great value.
If you wear one or two things all the time, fine; otherwise, cheap jewelry works, especially if you travel. You never want to carry something you can't afford to lose. My ears are pierced twice; I change the earrings in the lower hole pretty often, but the upper ones get diamond studs with screw and lock backs that I remove only when I'm cleaning them.
Agree 100% you have something to show a year later Worth something And your more likely to keep a set that you worked hard for nice rather then those forever 21 necklaces which can look really nice aswell But maybe some can care for cheap better But I think tarnished earings are gross And who wants green rings on fingers or neck especially not knowing . Been there 😂
OR...you could be like me and not wear jewelry, I dont even wear a wedding ring, I absolutely love to look at jewelry, see it on others, etc but I have never ever cared to wear any.
My Mom just buys gold and silver coins now. I think that's a better investment than jewellery. Easier to sell and stay locked away in a safety box forever.
It would be nice if Rachael would stop talking so we can hear what the guest has to say. Geesh. Seriously, a conversation requires listening. How can we learn from this millionaire if you won't stop talking???
If you have beautifully done hair, slim figure, perfectly tailored clothes and nice shoes - you can wear cheap jewelry and cheap handbags and they will look expensive or in place. She could carry a fake designer handbag and it would look real. If you had a bad haircut, ill fitting cheap clothes, worn shoes... real jewelry and a designer handbag won’t save you or look real.
Very true. You can wear a sack and everyone will admire it if you slim. But don't try that if you are overweight or obese, because it will look just like a sack and terrible one😱Been there, done that😶
@@texastea5686 Exactly. She's spending money somewhere. I am guessing on her clothing pieces. That's not to say she isn't buying things that are going to give her a lot of mileage. She got the bag repaired twice. Yup, Thomas Stanley wrote in The Millionaire Next Door that the wealthy guy (or gal) buys good quality shoes and has them resoled at least twice before buying a new pair of shoes. So when I was able to buy a pair of $300.00 hiking boots on clearance for $150 I had them resoled with Vibram soles for $90 when they finally wore out because they were good quality and after all that hiking they were molded to my feet. I could not have replaced those boots for $90. And when they wear out again (if they ever do) I'll get them resoled again. I've had them for about 26 years. And I've worn them for more than just hiking too. Yard work, etc. So that works out to about $15 a year for top quality Gortex boots. Not bad.
It's exactly what Europeans have done and still do due a historically necessary thriftiness dictated by prior centuries of poverty. Other factors are a rejection of endless consumerism, high VAT, and a lack of space to store many purchases.

Leave Rachel alone. Go watch something else. You can’t body shame a woman on her own show. Obviously she doesn’t need to be skinny to be on TV, or none of you would be watching her right now.
She doesn't buy pens for the office???? That is not ethical. You should buy a box of 12 pens (under 4$) and give it to each employee every 2 months. That is only 24 dollars a year. Don't make your employees pay for that. Do you expect your employees to pay for your electricity in the office????
I get being frugal when you have no money but she's rich. It's time to enjoy what you spent so many years building. Otherwise what's the point of having money.
MacKenzie Vattimo bruh if she’s spending 12k on pens for her staff that always seem to lose of jack the pens, I don’t blame her for not supplying them anymore, it’s just common sense at this point!
I have to agree with Mackenzie. A business owner should just accept that they are going to have to spend money on certain things. It’s a business expense! Write it off! What’s next? She’s going to ask them to bring their own toilet paper?!
Pen thing sounds extreme but she’s absolutely right. Pens constantly disappear. It’s because they’re so accessible that people don’t care if they lose them. It’s same as water bottles. Very wasteful. I stopped purchasing pens for my business too. Also pens carry too much germs. I have two amazing pens from Tiffany and Co and Montblanc. They’ve been in my bag for over 10 years.
I did it. I only bought pens/pencils for office when the 1st time I established it. And now it’s already the 8th year. My nature of business lets me to get lots of free pens :)

There's a difference between cheap and cheaply made bags. Cheaply made bags aren't worth the savings cause they don't last; Italians make some of the best - there are good 'no name' ones I've found at Ross and TJMaxx. Also the same stores have the luxury brands marked down by a lot. But full price, no way.
Disagree about business if you're flying long haul. Try London to Australia (24 hours in the air) and the luxury of being able to stretch out your legs, not touch someone else and sleep flat is 100% worth the $, £ or amex points. Short flights, I agree.
Gosh Rachael, let your guests talk without interrupting ALL the time. It is so childish and rude. You have had these same comments throughout the years but never learn.
But she probably spends on $200 Sisley foundation, $400 La Mer moisturizer, $1200 Botox, $1200 Restylene, $5000 specialized health improving services. I hate it when the rich try to appear humble as rest of the middle class.
It's a shame this lady doesn't appreciate that you're flying in a small space with people with allergies, sensitivities, nervous flyers who probably don't appreciate strong aromas from cheese and salami while out of their comfort zone. You're sharing space and air with so many people, it wouldn't hurt to be more considerate.
Can you take packaged deli meats and cheeses on international flights? My partner and I usually have a pint each of ice cream at the cinema (2 for 1) and anyone that sits near us always comments that they wish they thought of it.

Rachael let het speak damn
Holy fuck! $12,000 on pens! That's crazy!
I get being frugal when you have no money but she's rich. It's time to enjoy what you spent so many years building. Otherwise what's the point of having money.
I know nothing about this lady, but requiring your staff to bring their own pens is nuts.
A teacher I knew bought a PKG of pencils every morning to school for her 1st graders. No pencils everyday.
I agree with Barbara ! How many workers does she have?
MacKenzie Vattimo $12, 000 on pens is nuts! 🙄
There are lot of millionaires who have this same attitude towards their purchases. I think it’s awesome to see her encourage frugality!
Pens anoy me . Sounds like my dads work now refuseing to replace their reflective safety vest or shirts despite would be fired without them. Last time was yr ago ( the reflective in the shirts or vest are to be replaced after so many washes. My mom started buying new ones for my father. To keep him safe to make sure truck drivers notice him. other thing but pens make limit per person( lot work pens at times can be crappy
Lets say you go buy decent pens in small quality okay. Your order same thing in bulk quality drops. Pens won't work...why not limit then after stop doing so. Like limit the person to pens. My dads work got fed up issues like that though were they installed a machine( despite they don't like to work people end up going without things. But concept is. Neat.
. people have to. Enter their code.to get iteams( like battery for their flash lights um gloves paper towls ect it's limit you to so much.( despite people are still Haveing to ask as machine not cooprating) but like if machine worked. And . If you need something extra have ask or lets say got pens their not working you swap them that can be anoying. But if you get past your slowed limits wk. y
You have ask. As like paper towls when need clean up a spill or ect. Use them up okay... But people will take gloves battry pens ect. Home
You can hire me I have my own fountain pen haha :-)
Prob doesn't eat looks like a bone saving that coin
It must be nice to be petite and thin and be able to fly coach comfortably.
I dont buy bottle watch much either if im out i might grab a bottle drink the water save bottle use it at home boil my tap water cool it down and put it in my bottle put it in the fridge then drink later. There you go bottle water that does not cost a fortune
That facelift tho 😂
The only reason people should buy expensive handbags like a birkin is for the high resale value
She’s great! Bottled water is a waste ♻️
I thought you are not allowed to bring your own wine on board?
@@emilymullen7159 Hello yes I heard her say that too. But I have been sitting on the plane and hearing on the speaker that bringing your own alcohol is prohibited ( no matter where you bought it) She probably gets away with it because she's famous :(
Yes I have heard you cannot bring your own wine too. But I have brought those little singles and put them in my purse after security. The attendants really didn't police me on drinking them.
This is true. I've taken first class but food is not always great. Instead of spending $1000 on first class and get blah food, I can spend $100 on way better gourmet food and bring it with me on the plane instead of risking if the airplane food will offer what I want. I can buy SO much more with that money I spent on first class!!!!
Can you even take that food through security/customs?
Rachael Ray is so obnoxious, constantly interrupting Barbara while we are trying to listen to her. She is such a loud mouth. We missed so much that we could have heard from Barbara. This is why I rarely watch her and I’m isually not this way.
Her producers must send an electric shock or something if she remains silent too long, I really wonder why she’s a horrible listener lol
😂😂😂😂😂Good one😂😂😂😂I hate to watch her, and watch only because I am curious about the guest😂I will try to remember that everytime I will listen to that aggravating, loud voice of her😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂
Why is Rachel yelling
Love this but I really wanna know, what DOES age splurge on abs how well does she treat her employees?
There's a difference between cheap and cheaply made bags. Cheaply made bags aren't worth the savings cause they don't last; Italians make some of the best - there are good 'no name' ones I've found at Ross and TJMaxx. Also the same stores have the luxury brands marked down by a lot. But full price, no way.
Let the GUEST Talk....arggggggggggghh)
Disagree about business if you're flying long haul. Try London to Australia (24 hours in the air) and the luxury of being able to stretch out your legs, not touch someone else and sleep flat is 100% worth the $, £ or amex points. Short flights, I agree.
Thanks for all the cheap TRICKS FOR MY WALLET
Great to live by this philosophy. Maybe I can turn my buying around and live like this.
Love Barbara Corcoran!
I love Barbara! Thank you for sharing this.
Gosh Rachael, let your guests talk without interrupting ALL the time. It is so childish and rude. You have had these same comments throughout the years but never learn.
This millionaire might be my new favourite person!
I love her! She's such an inspiration!!
Good tips, Barbara and Rachael
Goodness! Enjoy your money Barbara!
Only the 'poor' act 'rich'. LOL $1000 purse with no money to put in it. LOL
That’s me in economy! Cheese plate with quince paste!! Flight attendants always jealous and comment on it
Rachael switch to 1080p format
So right girl
But she probably spends on $200 Sisley foundation, $400 La Mer moisturizer, $1200 Botox, $1200 Restylene, $5000 specialized health improving services.
I hate it when the rich try to appear humble as rest of the middle class.
Blam it on the alcohol
Ted needs to back up off my koolaid. Love me some thickness like Rachel
No wonder I always liked Barara :) It's just common sense.
OMG I did not recognise Rachel... wow...
Rachael sure is looking raggedy. She could stand to lose some wait.
pouring your own wine on an airline is not allowed.
If I had a dollar for every time Rachel mentioned her husband I would be a billionaire. Every single show she mentions her husband. Flipping annoying.
I wonder what brand bag that was.I'm guessing a Dooney
Can you take packaged deli meats and cheeses on international flights?
My partner and I usually have a pint each of ice cream at the cinema (2 for 1) and anyone that sits near us always comments that they wish they thought of it.
Treat yourself lady, it's not like you're living forever, I despite people like her
I feel sad for her she’s still in survivor mode and not letting her past go! She’s a millionaire and not able to afford a pen for her employee! She needs a psychologist to help her!
If only Rachel would actually let her guest speak. This was painful and LOUD
Wow I love Barbara but if she is that rich and watching out for every dime she spends what about people like me do lol 😂
It’s illegal to consume your own alcohol on a plane
Never seen a coach seat look so big in my life. No way that’s coach, two row, unless that’s a short haul, plus look at that arm rest.
K B it’s coach she’s actually sitting between 2 ppl but you can’t really see them.
And I’m guessing that Barbara is actually a very petite woman
