I came here 'cause I saw the thumbnail and I was like "oh I'm gonna tear them a new one in the comment section, fuck them for playing into the stereotypes everytime they have a french person on a talk show". But then I saw the video and I lost it at "qui a pété ici?". She clearly is a fucking beast of an actress for saying that with a straight face. You got me Colbert, I laughed, you're fine for this time.
As a french speaker, I say: -This video just sounds kinda dumb when you understand everything xD -Stephen is absolutely impossible to understand -As a Quebecer, only France accent sounds good, our accent doesn't sound sexy at all lol -Stereotypes on point!
In French : « Vos daronnes elles boivent du spirite sa mère » In English : « the gingerbread of my grandmother is really good » what does it really mean : « i love you ❤️ »
Les stéréotypes, franchement! By the way Mr Colbert, your name is French because in the 17th century many French Protestants flew to Ireland to avoid oppression. Same during the French Revolutions many Nobles flew to Ireland.
Depends where you come from... There are not really sexier sounding language than french, so when you live in France. I can also think of Italian, it sounds quite sexy
Thierry B I don't know... When I visited Wien, Austrians sounded pretty sexy. The consonants are a bit harsher but still sexy. My Turkish professor sounded pretty sexy when she spoke Turkish, just saying.
At the end, they are both pretending to play an instrument with their baguettes, but none of their instruments is the one that's actually playing in the background music.
Whats up with all these "I'm French and I didn't understand anything Colbert said" comments? French is like my fourth language and I understood everything perfectly.
HabsMD97 It's because you're used to hear broken French. We native people are not. That's normal. I understand broken English much better than most native Americans, because it's my second language.
It's because then known french actress have a very speacial way of speaking this bobo/profound acent. Like Eva Green, Carla Bruni, Mélanie Laurent, I love them, and I can speak like them but that would need an effort. ^^

Nah, it's not the French that makes it intriguing. It's Marion Cotillard.
No, it's definitely the french language

Jean Fou Stephen Colbert can't actually speak French; he's just reading the words off a prompter and pronouncing them with a bad French accent.

Marion is like an angel from heaven. she's so kind and adorable
Qui a fait le texte
C'est quand même incroyable ?
Stephen good work anyway :)
English : "Green glass towards worm verse"
Me: "verre vert vers vers vers"
:D
As a french speaker, I say:
-This video just sounds kinda dumb when you understand everything xD
-Stephen is absolutely impossible to understand
-As a Quebecer, only France accent sounds good, our accent doesn't sound sexy at all lol
-Stereotypes on point!
I once overheard a chat between French Canadians, I thought they were speaking Norwegian. It wasn't soft, it was harsh and they sounded angry.
I find Canadian French accent cute :).
The Canadian accent brings us joy ;)
You're accent is full of joy I like it
"I have an historic case of swamp ass" FTW.
Is french gaining importance in Europe after the brexit? Just in case, I'm listening Stromae
Pretty sure he's Belgian and not French ;)
Iris Kuiters yes I know, but he sings in french right?
Yes he sings in french ;)
yes he is Belgian but people talk french in Belgium.
Her dress is beautiful. I want it.
Inception is way easier to understand than Steven's french
😄
omg everything does sound better in french
+Rebecca Chen Do i sound better ? :D
Tu est vraiment très jolie :3
+Tudal Le Breton yes honestly
+Tudal Le Breton
Tudal Le Breton
Rooh c'est trop mignon c:
I couldn't understand what Stephen said at all lol, and I'm French 😂😂
In English : « the gingerbread of my grandmother is really good »
what does it really mean : « i love you ❤️ »
Marion est adorable même avec la moustache 🌹
Marion je suis avec toi
I'm dying over here. Fantastic work, Colbert
Marion is so flawless.
Marion is so funny yet so chic and classy 💖💖
To be honest the “who farted here?” Is better acting that most of what we’ve seen this previous decade.
I'm french, and would totally eat that baguette on set as well ;)
Looks gooood
Les stéréotypes, franchement! By the way Mr Colbert, your name is French because in the 17th century many French Protestants flew to Ireland to avoid oppression. Same during the French Revolutions many Nobles flew to Ireland.
*fled, not flew
Her dress is just beautiful
I'm French and I actually think everything sounds better in english x)
she's so precious
- Sir, my mustache is more beautiful than yours.
babe 2 IS and underrated classic! thank you! ive got colbert on my side now, no one will ever laugh at me for saying it.
Hearing a different language other than your native one is almost always sexier
Depends where you come from... There are not really sexier sounding language than french, so when you live in France. I can also think of Italian, it sounds quite sexy
except dutch, german and Turkish. No offense if people from those countries read my comment, but their langages sounds horrible So far.
Thierry B I don't know... When I visited Wien, Austrians sounded pretty sexy. The consonants are a bit harsher but still sexy. My Turkish professor sounded pretty sexy when she spoke Turkish, just saying.
Well I am French and Italian and I think these two languages are damn sexy even if they're mine
Lisa 30in The point isn't that only foreign languages can sound sexy...
Thank God Stephen was subtitled. It's incompréhensible.
At the end, they are both pretending to play an instrument with their baguettes, but none of their instruments is the one that's actually playing in the background music.
Marion with moustache looks a lot like young Jodie Foster. :)
I died at "Composez le neuf... pour obtenir...... une ligne............... EXTÉRIEURE!"
Whats up with all these "I'm French and I didn't understand anything Colbert said" comments? French is like my fourth language and I understood everything perfectly.
HabsMD97 It's because you're used to hear broken French. We native people are not. That's normal. I understand broken English much better than most native Americans, because it's my second language.
things sound more profound in french, but even more so when is a woman speaking, and if she looks like marion... oh lala!
juan altredo Dude I'm French and trust me, not everyone in France talks like that unfortunately xD
It's because then known french actress have a very speacial way of speaking this bobo/profound acent.
Like Eva Green, Carla Bruni, Mélanie Laurent, I love them, and I can speak like them but that would need an effort. ^^
I just love how Stephen is able to keep a straight face
"I'm Irish" lmao
Elle porte la moustache à la perfection 👌
it's less fun when you speak French x)
Non
