Precious memories of a delightful vocalist who helped make the world a little bit better.
I was born in 1949 and my folks actually won a new B&W TV in a department store raffle back in 1949, it was very rare to have TV back in those days. My Mom loved Perry Como, so from the crib to basically my young adulthood I got to watch "The Perry Como Show" on a weekly basis literally from the very beginning of my life. The first show was broadcast on December 24th, 1948, Mom never missed a show! It's almost like he was a part of the family, and to this day when ever I hear or watch Perry Como I can feel my folks presence in my heart through his music and beautiful voice, feels like home!

Perry Como was a class act. When I was 18, I used to go round to my friend's house and listen to his mother's Perry Como LP through headphones. Soon I was listening to my own Como LP's but then my life moved on and for the best part of 30 years Perry didn't figure in my thoughts at all, until one day in 2001 when it crossed my mind to wonder what ever happened to him. I remember thinking what a class act he was and that he must be either very old by now or, more likely, he had died and I just hadn't heard about it. Later that day, I turned on the TV and they announced on the news that Perry had died, which sent a bit of a shiver down my spine. Coincidence or not?
Just love to listen to him.He could sing the
the thickest telephon book to me.Perry, a gem among stones.🥰
Perry was such a magnificent singer as these three songs show to perfection. He had the voice of an angel and always sang with so much emotion and feeling. He made everything he sang seem so effortless with his beautiful voice.Absolutely wonderful performance.Really superb.

Not the fault of the poster but I really can't stand "reaction" shots, where the audience is scanned for reaction. I want to see PERRY if I'm listening to Perry, not the audience (or anyone else I happen to want to watch. I wonder whose stupid idea it was to scan the audience - was it to signal to me that my reaction is on cue with their reaction?
He liked to see the audience ❤
