Oh, and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your focus on found footage which is one of my favorite subgenres. THANK YOU for watching so many ff movies and giving us great reviews. THANK YOU!
I hope this year you'll get the recognition you deserve in this space, you truly found some of my favorite movies this year. Love your dynamic reviews, and your openess to all types of movies and fans of the genre. Keep on the good work!
I watched 94 new horror movies this year. And by far, at least for me, The coffee table was my favorite. No movie even came close. The dread was real. The acting was real. The whole situation was real. I loved it.

I really like how sometimes you guys disagree with each other but you explain why and affirm that each's POV is valid. That's really terrific. I've followed your recommendations and have, for the most part, jived with your tastes and I've watched some you have not liked and same. Some I liked that you didn't and vice versa. All of this to say, you two do an amazing job and service for us horror family and I appreciate all of the hard work and effort you both put in to your channel. I hope 2025 is as good a year for horror as 2024 was, and I can't wait to hear your reviews on what will be coming our way. Great job. Please keep it up, and thank you :)

Honourable mentions also go to Smile 2, Stopmotion, Mind Body Spirit, and Kill Your Lover. I still want to see The Coffee Table and Nosferatu, and because of your channel, I'm also adding Sleep and Le Vourdalak to that list.

Ironically, my list lines up with Jason's the past 2 years. Sadly horror movies can get overlooked when movies get acknowledged for awards this time of the season, but The Substance is truly a masterclass in movie making, its a perrfect film, a Masterpiece, to be mentioned amongst the great movies of any era of any genre. Give this script, source material to any of the top directors of today, Spielberg, Scott, Scorsese, Tarantino and I couldn't imagine any of them producing a film that could top Coralie Fargeat visionary masterpiece that builds and build into a beautifully sublime, inspiring, thought provoking crescendo. The Substance is what I go to the movies hoping to see and experience..........pure magic. I'm glad Demi Moore recieved the Golden Globe for The Substance and seems like the front runner for the Oscar. A Different Man is a must see overlooked movie this year as well.
I'm actually getting ready to throw on A Different Man here in a few minutes, currently on a quest to watch every A24 movie, had to check out this list first though been looking forward to it haha

Hey Jason and Kali. I was actually anticipating your ranking. Sorry to hear you’ve been sick. Glad you’re better now. Me and my child actually got really ill around new years too and it’s so hard parenting while sick, not for the weak 🤣 I love your rankings and many I’ve either seen or have my interest. Some I just never got round too though. I watched exactly 70 2024 movies this year. It’s been incredible and so many 4 or 5 star films for me too. I will share my top 15 (which has actually moved around since the last time I ranked after thinking about it more ) though 2 disclaimers 1. I’m counting Nosferatu as 2025 as it came out New Year’s Day here 2. I wasn’t a fan of the substance 😂 but I appreciate those who do enjoy it. Just didn’t land with me. 1. Terrifier 3 (this may seem typical but I genuinely love it so much. One of the ones I did rewatch and I actually saw it 3 times in the cinema and twice over Xmas, it’s solidified Terrifier as my second favourite franchise) 2. MaxXxine - I don’t understand the disappointment overall with this one. But I guess all that matters is that for me it delivered and I was on cloud nine over it. 3. Strange Darling - could switch to second place with a rewatch 4. The first omen 5. Red Rooms 6. Your Monster 7. Oddity 8. Loves lies bleeding 9. Lisa Frankenstein 10. In a violent nature 11. I’m going to be long winded here. lol. I love both of your lists. So many films on your lists I still need to see, and I will. So thank you. I’m not going to give a top ten, BUT The Substance was the surprise of the year for me. Loved it. Nosferatu was my most anticipated and it didn’t disappoint. Also, the Coffee Table stuck with me. So intense. I HAVE to see The Vordalak. That’s at the top of my list to see. As for your channel, I agree, less may be more for you guys to build your channel. I’m no RUclips expert, but as a viewer I think you guys would really benefit from doing more “fun” videos. Lists, ratings, and focusing on specific subcategories, themes, and directors. I don’t watch a ton of horror channels, you guys are my number one for your dedication and personalities. Plus you know your shit. There are a few I frequent and some of them have more subscribers when I think you guys have way better content in general. I do think you have to serve the people who want entertainment from their RUclipsr. I’m sure you guys could do it and do it better. That being said, I think you watched more films than most other horror RUclipsrs even before this crazy year. I enjoy your direct way of reviewing so don’t change that! I do miss the livestreams. I don’t know if that gets you viewers, but I think they’re fun. I’m a viewer more so for the relatable-ness since I don’t have a ton of people to talk to about horror. I do take your reviews into consideration when I am looking for something to watch, but even more so I watch your reviews after I see the film so I can agree or disagree with your thoughts. lol. Anyway, keep up the good work. Your passion shows.
My list: 1. Longlegs 2. Strange Darling 3. The Substance 4. I Saw The TV Glow 5. Abigail 6. Oddity 7. Late Night With the Devil 8. Immaculate 9. Stopmotion 10. In a Violent Nature ***I have not seen as many films as you hahaha most notably I missed The Devil’s Bath, Your Monster, Chime, Exhuma, Evil Does Not Exist, and Smile 2
Glad to see some random titles. I watched Vourdalak and I think i should have rewatched it cause I had troubles staying awake while watching. So I'm gonna really soon.
Many movies I love on your lists. Only ones I still need to watch from your lists are Your Monster and Breathing in. My 10: 1. The Substance (duh) 2. Red Rooms 3. The Devil’s Bath 4. I Saw the TV Glow 5. Late Night of the Devil 6. Strange Darling 7. The Coffee Table 8. Lowlifes 9. MadS 10. Longlegs And just so you know it almost made someone else’s 10… 11. Sleep
Hey guys, if putting out too many videos is crippling the channel, you could consider a once a week roundup of the lesser movies and then just put out individual videos for the bigger stuff. Or even like a once a month video like, "Top 10 free horror movies of January 2025," etc (since YT seems to like top 10 lists). I love your reviews of these lesser known movies, so please find a way to continue doing that if you could. I really think just consolidating several of them into one video could work, plus you wouldn't have to go into as much super detail into each so it could be less work for you.
So my number one movie this past year is I Saw the TV Glow. I chose it over The Substance since it impacted me more and I could relate to the theme of lost potential. Glad it got mentioned here. Also, I support your choice of making less videos. Throwaway movies mean throwaway videos. Don't throw away what's important to you. I get diabetes from watching you two flirt with each other in the videos. Looking forward to 2025 with you all.
You said more reviews crippled your channel. The only MASS content that works is shorts, and they really do work. So manny ppl ive subbed to is because i kept seeing them in my shorts recommended, and even now that im subbed i see there videos in my shorts with a clickable link to the full video in the short. Just a suggestion
My top two horror films of the year are exactly what Kali's are and in that order as well. Strange Darling I really liked quite a bit as well, Jason, just not number two for me. I really don't give much of a shit about awards but I can't lie, I was happy to see Demi win the other night.
From now on I'm being incredibly selective what films I watch, it's not worth wasting my limited lifespan watching boring movies. So I'll add any of these I've not seen to my list! Probably sounds unbelievable but through July 2023 to July 2024 I saw 756 movies... I know, it's f*cking crazy, but with an injury that left me at home for the majority of the year I really took advantage of the whole thing and watched WAY more movies than I wish I did in 1 year! I also unfortunately don't have kids due to me and my wife battling infertility, so an injury and very few responsibilities made me do the craziest entertainment related feat than I've ever done... NEVER again, seriously. 😂 Again I really don't blame you if you don't believe it, but it's true... some of us are lucky enough to have a ton of free time and don't use it properly. I'm not proud of it, I resorted to watching literal hundreds of movies at 2X speed and the whole experience made me lose my love of films for half a year. Not worth it. The goal was 1000 but I just HAD to stop at 756, though I wanted to at like 400 and wish I did.
@GoalieOfUnholy bullshit, we watch alot of horror movies and 9 out of 10 of what is made today is horseshit and the 1 out of 10 that is not is still just acceptable. You must be young. 😊
@GoalieOfUnholy oh now we get to that point. Fuck you I've had 30 years of practice and we watch movies to review them so I'm sorry you don't get to only pick what the leftists say is the best one cus it has the most transkids in it.
People are funny! Seems like you were looking out for the RUclipsr to not overdue it and they got offended for no particular reason. Anyway, I have really enjoyed both of your reviews and discussions on horror movies and look forward to plenty more from you guys in the future.
I saw 90% of movies on your lists. Only substance and strange darling get 3.5 stars. Others are 3 to 2. I yawned and rolled my eyes thru red rooms, oddity, longlegs, heretic and etc. on paper, these are my type of horror. Alas, none of them clicked.
🍿 Top 10 horror movies of 2024 🍿 10. Daddy's Head ✅ 9. The First Omen ✅ 8. Smile 2✅ 7. Late night with the devil✅ 6. The Devil's Bath✅ 5. Oddity 4. Heretic✅ 3. Chime✅ 2. Longlegs✅ 1. The Substance✅

Great review Jason. Glad to hear you call out stream, unlike all the content creators who kissed the ass of the movie because the creators asked them to..
Glad to see devil's bath there. I need to check breathing in. I watched 200+ movies but only 60+ horrors..For some reasons lots of those hyped movies didn't impress me much. I ended up only gave 5 of them 4 stars and around 7-8 movies 3.5 stars. 4 stars(1-5): Strange darling, devil's bath, red rooms, late night with the devil, what you wish for. 3.5 stars (6-10) oddity, I saw the TV glow, the first omen, smile 2 and the substance. I really want to watch the girl with the needle though, have a feeling that I'll love it.
Lisa Frankenstein, Abigail, long legs, strange darling, salems lot, cuckoo, nosfaratu, terrified 3, mads, does the coffee table count ??, red rooms, alien Romulus
@@thefaceless8796yeah, as far as I know Red Rooms is just VOD. I watched The Vourdalak on Kanopy through my library though. I didn’t love it as much as they did but the monster’s design is truly great. Definitely worth a watch!
My least favorite horror movies of the year were I Saw the TV Glow, Deus Irae, and Tarot. Top five were: 1. The Coffee Table 2. What You Wish For 3. The Substance 4. Smile 2 5. Oddity
No Dune: Part Two? Kalki 2898 AD / Kalki (2024 film) / Project Kalki / Project K / Prabhas 21? Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga / Furiosa? Kill (2024 film) / Kill: This Journey Is One-Way? Love Lies Bleeding (2024 film)? Civil War? Milk & Serial / Milk & Serial: A Found Footage Story? It's What's Inside? Blink Twice / Pussy Island? MadS? Heretic? No Voltees / Don't Look Back (2024 film)? Azrael? A Quiet Place: Day One? Anora? Terrifier 3⁈ I guess that's how ya know it's been a great year for movies!
The one and only negative thing I can say about The Substance….and it’s a small thing….is that I wanted more Dennis Quaid. Other than that…it was #1 on my list as well.
The BEST reviews are of CRAPPY MOVIES!! Theres a COMRADARIE that occurs when you form a bond with the REVIEWER knowing you both wasted time watching stuff that sucks like ROB ZOMBIE movies do. The only worse movies are DANZIG movies!! Maybe Satan worshipping musicians should be banned from movie making??!!!
Longlegs let me down It was visually impressive but I think they should have just gone with what they were going for and stepped it up a bit more and had more story I think the black coats daughter was a better movie story wise but visually long legs is great and TBCD had some dragged on scenes but not many but overall long legs is under black coats daughter for me Wish we got more time with nic cage and his victims or just better non cut away scenes or what would have been sooo much better was to not just have eerie scenes with the detective and had more creepy scenes and not just eerie moments have things actually happen
Long legs let me down. Still a good movie but was hoping it would have been better Although a pretty movie that’s not the most important piece its story and I felt like if they were going to go for a unique take on it they should have just went all the way with it and it didn’t It’s hard to say but I think the black coats daughter was a better movie all together not as visually impressive but a better story and long legs was great visually but I wanted a lot more out of it. I wanted more of nic cage. Or at least more time with his process with his victims which would have been nicer
That Longlegs video was my favorite movie discussion of yours for 2024. Didn't even realize how long it was until it ended. Great list guys!

1. Late Night with the Devil
2. The Substance
3. Lowlifes
4. Terrifier 3
5. Longlegs
6. In a Violent Nature
7. Lisa Frankenstein
8. Oddity
9. Strange Darling
10. Sting
Honourable mentions: Frankie Freako, Frogman, Mr. Crockett, Alien: Romulus
I actually saw COFFEE TABLE as a Comedy as well. The second act of this movie was full on bunker’s sitcom.
We love you Maya. You are definitely one of the best
My list:
1. Longlegs
2. Strange Darling
3. The Substance
4. I Saw The TV Glow
5. Abigail

10. In a Violent Nature
***I have not seen as many films as you hahaha most notably I missed The Devil’s Bath, Your Monster, Chime, Exhuma, Evil Does Not Exist, and Smile 2
Glad to see some random titles. I watched Vourdalak and I think i should have rewatched it cause I had troubles staying awake while watching. So I'm gonna really soon.
Red Rooms is so awesome, loved it
Many movies I love on your lists. Only ones I still need to watch from your lists are Your Monster and Breathing in. My 10:

@@sinistercinemareviews5420Food for thought?
298! Tiger Stripes was kind of a CARRIE vibe.
Issue with SLEEP was I saw it on the festival circuit a year ago.
Mr cool guy 😎
Thank you for your sacrifice!
I didn't see any of these! I spent all year rewatching DANZIG movies!!!
They made films?
I made it to 520 films & series in 2024! Only 30 of them were re-watches..
And like 20 of them was worth it. That's about 800 hours of your short short life.
They were all worth it!
@GoalieOfUnholy bullshit, we watch alot of horror movies and 9 out of 10 of what is made today is horseshit and the 1 out of 10 that is not is still just acceptable. You must be young. 😊
They weren't all horror movies. But it sounds like you need to pick better movies. I've had a lot of practice, you'll get there!
@GoalieOfUnholy oh now we get to that point. Fuck you I've had 30 years of practice and we watch movies to review them so I'm sorry you don't get to only pick what the leftists say is the best one cus it has the most transkids in it.
LONGLEGS reveals itself upon a 2nd viewing. Esp....when you realize the beast is staring back at you and Lee Harker in several acenes.
Excellent film.
We watched it again last night
Sup guys! We at F.EK like your vids. Keep it up. We just started our channel and are working on our first video. 🎉😂
Good luck. It takes a lot out of you
nice to see The Vourdalak here, love it
So great
People are funny! Seems like you were looking out for the RUclipsr to not overdue it and they got offended for no particular reason. Anyway, I have really enjoyed both of your reviews and discussions on horror movies and look forward to plenty more from you guys in the future.
Hilarious.

Ah yes. The horror review RUclipsrs beef begins
Nah. Not me
@@sinistercinemareviews5420 your channel is still the best IMO. It takes someone special to review damn near every horror movie that comes out any given year
Great review Jason. Glad to hear you call out stream, unlike all the content creators who kissed the ass of the movie because the creators asked them to..
It was kali who said it. I just agreed
YOUR MONSTER was amazing! Omitted because of wondering if it’s actually horror
4:40 Wow. This is absolutely crazy... Sorry you had such an experience.
It’s whatever
Maybe you expect too much
Lisa Frankenstein, Abigail, long legs, strange darling, salems lot, cuckoo, nosfaratu, terrified 3, mads, does the coffee table count ??, red rooms, alien Romulus
It counts if you say it does
I'm really interested in red rooms. I'm going to have to seek it out for sure.
It’s so amazing. Definitely do.
@nerdycynic1893 is it only available to rent? I'm also thinking about the vourdalak. Revisiting black sabbath now to get a slight fix lol.
@@thefaceless8796yeah, as far as I know Red Rooms is just VOD. I watched The Vourdalak on Kanopy through my library though. I didn’t love it as much as they did but the monster’s design is truly great. Definitely worth a watch!
Get to it for sure
I like the long for him and I stayed here for the whole thing
Thanks for staying
My least favorite horror movies of the year were I Saw the TV Glow, Deus Irae, and Tarot.
Top five were:
1. The Coffee Table
2. What You Wish For
3. The Substance
4. Smile 2
5. Oddity
I barely cracked 50
Nothing wrong with that
No Dune: Part Two?
Dune 2 for horror or even thriller? No way
Awe man, that's right. You gotta color inside the lines.. Stupid genres.
Which RUclipsr blocked you?
easy to find out
Doesn’t matter
@@gizmo_54no it’s not. There’s a million movie reviewers
The one and only negative thing I can say about The Substance….and it’s a small thing….is that I wanted more Dennis Quaid. Other than that…it was #1 on my list as well.
🖤
MadS
Yes! Please make more “lists” videos especially for lesser known movies!
THE ONLY LIST THAT MATTERS 🤧 🤒 🤢 🤮
😱
NOSFERATU SUCKED!!!!
K
The BEST reviews are of CRAPPY MOVIES!! Theres a COMRADARIE that occurs when you form a bond with the REVIEWER knowing you both wasted time watching stuff that sucks like ROB ZOMBIE movies do. The only worse movies are DANZIG movies!! Maybe Satan worshipping musicians should be banned from movie making??!!!
I don’t got time to waste my life watching pointless shit now
@sinistercinemareviews5420 I do!!
weird channel :/
Pointless comment
Longlegs let me down
It was visually impressive but I think they should have just gone with what they were going for and stepped it up a bit more and had more story
I think the black coats daughter was a better movie story wise but visually long legs is great and TBCD had some dragged on scenes but not many but overall long legs is under black coats daughter for me
Wish we got more time with nic cage and his victims or just better non cut away scenes or what would have been sooo much better was to not just have eerie scenes with the detective and had more creepy scenes and not just eerie moments have things actually happen
Long legs let me down. Still a good movie but was hoping it would have been better
Although a pretty movie that’s not the most important piece its story and I felt like if they were going to go for a unique take on it they should have just went all the way with it and it didn’t
It’s hard to say but I think the black coats daughter was a better movie all together not as visually impressive but a better story and long legs was great visually but I wanted a lot more out of it. I wanted more of nic cage. Or at least more time with his process with his victims which would have been nicer
