Don't know how this one eluded me. Great work, Fab & pureMix. Loved Joel's straight-ahead approach. And this was a fun band and song to host. *Really* enjoyed it.
thanks for the kind words
My man Jordan McLean's moves on the claps are everything lol loved the song and the video!
Fab, let people talk, please. It seems like you can't wait to start talk. Listen sometime, sit, relax, and listen... Please.
The song is amazing, as a song and a mix. I love it.
Hi Joel and Fab. Thanks for making time for my question; much appreciated. Excellent session; the format and production make everything very clear and informative. Really useful experience and the band are damn funky :D
This is so so cool! Amazing knowledge, thanks for sharing it.
How did I not see this go by! Amazing Live guys! Sounds amazing.
Fab and Joel 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🎶🎶🎶 very proud to my compadre Camilo Silva outboard’s and also very good Lyrics Born and the band , great drummer by the way !!!
I wish they would record and mix a session that is what an average musician would have recorded in his basement. Not using high end gear and mics, this way the capture is average and not already perfect. Most of us have bedroom and basement studios using average hardware and mics , this would be a more realistic and fair session, using just an Apollo and laptop.... Thanks,,
Given the amount of endorsements Fab/PureMIx have, the entire point is to sway you guys into buying those mics, processors and plug ins.
Great thing to do. As suggestions for making it even better I would say it was a shame sometimes you had the levalier mics on wich made it sound phasy sometimes. I would also would love to have listen more isolated tracks .
But most of all it's such a great show I almost wouldn't dare even to point out something wrong if Fab didn't have asked for it.
Can't wait to watch more of this.
Thanks a lot for all that you're doing.
Quality! :D
Awesome video. A lot of great info...plus the girl in black is very easy on the eyes in addition to having a great voice!
Excellent Vid! Excellent info! Would it be possible to hear how the studio was tuned, and treatment? I notice that there were wooden strips on the walls, and there was mention of knowing what the reverberation of the room was. Also what was the personal preference of the monitor speakers?
30:30 Fab was correct. Joel mistakenly corrected Fab. Those who were born RECENTLY may not know what a tape machine is.
Hi guys, firstly, great video. Very informative and fun too. I was just wondering about the Coles overhead positioning. They seem to be a sort of XY thing but with them being figure of 8 I was just wondering what they are capturing and if there is any odd phase artefacts being created between them? It's very interesting to me as I tend to use Coles as my primary OH and have recently been experimenting with an ORTF type position but am a little unsure of the relationship with the rest of the mics on the kit. Thanks.
Bravo ...
Sometimes just plain spontaneity can not cut it in an album... I'ts the birth of Steely Dan... in a sense why they did it that way...
When was this recorded, it an old one from Lyrucs Born, about a decade. Good to Joyo Velarde rocking it with him (EDIT: Just fund they are married)
Edited and still full of typos. lol
Cool ;-)
I hope I win!!
lol one take
Not a good mix. Wish you did s old school hard cors mix.
