@@DannyLa1980 thanks for giving us specific figures. I don't think the work is all that difficult, but the hoops you have to jump thru to qualify are extensive. In addition to your basic Class A CDL you need a X = hazmat endorsement, as well as a tanker endorsement. A hazmat endorsement is basically a safety clearance that needs to be renewed every five years. Add to that the same thing for the FAA to work in an airport environment and for aircraft access. And finally, you need to pass a test for driving on an airport tarmac. All together, the $30/hr offered at a local airport to work for a global aircraft fueler on Indeed seemed like chicken feed.
Currently getting my CDL but definitely don’t want an OTR job since I’m a father to a newborn. I’m assuming hazmat and tanker endorsements are needed for this type of job?
That's funny. Out here at GSO, they just throw you in the truck and tell you to drive. I'm with Signature though so not sure if it's just FBO based protocol. Would be nice to have an official CDL though.
In various contexts, a "deadman" refers to different mechanisms or devices. One common usage is in the context of a deadman switch, which is a safety feature used in machinery or transportation systems. It's designed to activate when the operator becomes incapacitated or releases control, halting the operation to prevent accidents.

Hey pal-how come you didn't take the ground lead TO THE GROUND STAKE FIRST. Then ground to the aircraft ?
After all those years of doing it that way they discovered you don't need to. It's not required anymore.

Interesting that you are using a tanker truck to perform the operation when you almost parked on top of a hydrant outlet.
