Upgrades are a nice perk - on any airline...but since I am loyal to United, the perks are plentiful. As a 1K...I can pay economy, and it automatically puts me in economy plus - to include free drinks & box lunch. Majority of time on shorter flights (2 hrs or less), I get moved to business class. But like you said...who's gonna argue with FREE!! 👊respect👊
Andrew… If you are ever on my fight you will automatically get a complimentary upgrade. It is our policy that if you make super videos that everybody loves, they get super service in a super seat. And you fit the bill.
You are so lucky to get a free upgrade to Economy Plus. But I wonder is there any difference in terms of inflight services between Basic Economy and Economy Plus? Also, the cabin interior looks gorgeous 😄👍
There is a slight difference. (Basic) Economy service doesn't have as many snack and drink options as Premium does. It's hard to showcase the full extent due to the flights short length, but thats the general idea at least :3
What do you mean you are not allowed upgrade from economy? Why couldn’t you use the luggage compartment? We’re you told you are not allowed. Great vlog by the way.
There is no difference with economy plus, that is why no one buys them. It is also why there are many "free" upgrades as no one pays extra to sit in those seats. Those stoop waffles are not that good. You got an upgrade with those oreos.
You talked for several minutes about advantages of your seat, but you did not mention that your seat DID NOT RECLINE due to another exit row behind you!!!!! Therefore your seat was not that good
Thanks for pointing out that the seat didn't recline, that's something I failed to notice during recording which is why it's mentioned in the description of the video. It's understandable that from an informative point of view that a reclining seat might be a decision maker for some people, but for others it's not that big of an issue. The main focus was the extra legroom, but you're absolutely right that I should have specifically mentioned the seats inability to recline.
First class videos get a lot more attention on the internet, but can happen just as often as simpler upgrades can. A lot of those guys are either rich or fly frequently for work which allows them to score loyalty points with their airlines.
Excellent question. They didn't say, so I honestly have no idea. Maybe the transmitter was out of service of something? Idk. I even tried in on two different devices and it still didn't work :/
@David B I think that both United and American are good airlines that have very rich and interesting pasts. As for which is "better", I'm personally undecided. I know, not much of an answer, but really, both are pretty similar in terms of their products. I've still flown United since the incident and haven't had any major problems, and American hasn't treated me or anyone I know wrong either. Both are nice airlines and hopefully they can work to prevent these issues in the future.
@@andrewsaviation7792, what caused the poor customer service the past few years on United? Did United create a horrible treatment culture accidentally (mistakenly)?
Hmmm... I'm in no means an expert on this issue, but maybe it has something to do with their employers morale as a contributing factor? United hasn't had the best relationship with all their employees recently, and its possible that could be effecting some of their work and how they treat customers? As for a "bad treatment" culture, I wouldn't necessarily single out United. Some people hate having to deal with the burdens of travel and when something goes wrong they get really mad. But I guess for United solely, their presence in the media hasn't all been extremely positive in recent years, and just one viral incident can create an overall negative public view.
Nice trip report. Can't argue with any kind of upgrade :)
Yeah, this was really somethin' special! Still weird cause I couldn't enjoy the full perks :/
This is a lovely trip report. I really enjoyed watching it.
Thank you so much @flyingazorean! I'm happy to hear you enjoyed 😄
Nice flight reciew! I like those which are with Voiceover so much more than those with just white subtitles! ☺️ I subscribed 😅✈️
Thanks, glad you liked my voiceover take! I'm here every Friday :3
Had the exact same scenario on my 739 flight from EWR-ORD in December. Was booked in basic economy but got upgraded to an aisle seat in economy plus.
These upgrades are really the best thing that can happen to you in basic. Such a coincidence that happened to both of us 😆

Sounds like a plan chief :D
I love your videos and humor! Is your hometown airport Chicago ORD? :)
Thank you very much, I really appreciate it! And yes, my home airport is the 'ol "Orchard field" (ORD) 😄
This week I’m flying a United B737-800 first class from Dallas DFW to Denver DEN, I really like this video and it’s cool☺️

Oh that's interesting to know 😉
nice review! You're lucky to get a upgrade, I've not got one yet
Thanks! If you're flying basic it's technically not possible (unless under very specific circumstances), but in economy, you're eligible to ask!
What do you mean you are not allowed upgrade from economy? Why couldn’t you use the luggage compartment? We’re you told you are not allowed. Great vlog by the way.
You're back!!!
I am! In 1080p lol :3
Great review!!!!!! Love United!
Yes, its great to love United and their delicious stroopwafels 😋
Upgrade, Upgrade, upgrade!!!!
Super Video
Thanks. Good feedback is encouraged lol :3

Well, I guess it's just personal preference then. Free snacks are free snacks tho 😅
Good video, but as someone who smashed their phone a couple weeks back. Your phone gives me PTSD. I hope you got a new one!
great upgrade!!! hehe
Indeed it was :-)
Not a bad upgrade.
Yes, it was great :)
Nice
You can place your bag under the seat if you are seating on the emergency exit? Is it something american airlines allow or only united? Im curious.
have you ever ordered beans on an airplane, cuz if so i would like to book a flight
No, but please refer me to the nearest airline with beans lol
Andrew's Aviation dang i thought you could refer me
So can you charge yo phone tho

@@andrewsaviation7792 Thanks for your video!
I thought all youtubers upgrade to first class seats

Video felt like you were ready off a power point instead of using your own words.
Why was the WiFi not working?
Excellent question. They didn't say, so I honestly have no idea. Maybe the transmitter was out of service of something? Idk. I even tried in on two different devices and it still didn't work :/
