For example, I imagine people with ethnic origins to Russia, china, Iraq, Iran, North Korea etc etc, would (and should) be vetted with even greater scrutiny when employed into the British government, compared to British citizens of several generations.
If you assume racism everywhere, you'll see it everywhere. True racism is rare in the developed world, and suggesting it so sweepingly dilutes how disgusting the true act is

Not British myself, but as a man of law, besides the disgust for this citizen of yours, I like how the proceedings were taken. Similar to Romanian law you have some key aspects that must be taken into consideration like small details for the infraction commited, as in the actions themselves, the prejudices that followed, the various degrees of culpability and their calculation, the aggravating circumstances, the distinct consideration and treatment for each count of the charges. We don not have concurrent vs consecutive punishments in our law, but this was an exciting case to observe its application. Unfortunately, the judge doesn't go into too much detail here, but the small information that is showed is a nice conclusion to a probably very nice judgement. I would have loved to see the debates before the sentencing.

I always wondered about this when pondering the workings of embassies. I just thought that everyone from the cleaners, security guards, admin staff must be heavily monitored. It would make sense if they were. Also one must presume that the employees who go to work everyday must be followed by spies when they go to/leave work so they must know who they are - obviously they won’t know exactly what they do inside the embassy but they are monitored by foreign spies. I just always assumed they must know it has a level of danger and lack of privacy attached.
