As a youth in the 80s , I was into GIJOE and The Transformers. If you were into those shows, then most definitely you were into V. I think it’s almost a necessary prerequisite to understand the shows and thinking of viewers during that time.

I was 5-6 years old when this was telecast here in Sri Lanka in mid 1980s ('85-'86 or so If I'm not mistaken). I still do remember some of these things in "V" even after almost 40 years though I can't recall the whole plot, now at the age of 43 ! (After all, I was only a kid when I watched it, didn't get any chance to see it since then.). Time flies & things change, but at least some of the memories do stay forever .....

The new series 2009-2011 was really good. It was getting interesting just as ABC pulled the plug. If only Netflix had been around, they could have picked it up.
I still love the show to this day. If nothing else, the laser blast effects alone were better than any I have seen. I just wish they would have stayed away from that whole 'Star Child' hokus pokus.
The series up to that point was so strong. I mean really strong dramatic science fiction. It really feels like they wrote themselves into corner of sorts. I suppose they just couldn't find a solution that was flashy and exciting. Shame really. Thankfully the majority makes up for it.
I will never forget this series it is probably the best I have ever seen in my entire life and just stick the TV transmission that we emanated from our planet of this entire series is still drifting further and further out into space and if an alien race that ever wanted to do harm to us ever picks it up they will know not to come near the earth because they will believe that that transmission at all was real
V: The Final Battle could have been called V-2 which would have been more subtle than most of the NAZI references presented. This was my favorite 1980s miniseries.
I liked the second voice narrator on The Final Battle recaps, he gives it a lot more punch and excitement, the first narrator on the original mini-series sounds like he's giving the weather report.

I have to agree I have the entire set box said I’ve taken plus I also have it on my RUclips where I got it from as well and yeah it is fantastic I think both of them V and taken are probably equal to one another I just wish there were more mini series and movies like this but nowadays nobody knows what that is anymore

@@johnq.1650 I have been watching stranger things and I love 11 she is so cool I’m just waiting for season four to start up whenever that’s going to happen because of cove at 19 and I have watch the movie taken mini series and a lot of that I identify with from my whole life science-fiction movies are the best in the world that I’ve always watched including science-fiction TV shows and now the other one you mentioned I haven’t really seen this lately I haven’t been able to hold my attention on watching movies or anything for no more than maybe half hour 45 minutes at most done anything and that’s because of the fact that I may have autism and it’s hard to hold my attention at times and I get burned out easily although I have been watching British TV classic Doctor Who which I love a lot

No, they came for the back catalogue of ALF videos. They stopped paying their cable bills so never did get to see how the loveable alien and his host family, the Tanners faired. Apparently the lack of closure on the series caused massive civil unrest on the home world.

In the novelisation the Visitors are from Sirius. Their unnamed alien enemies are discussed briefly but never seen.
