  • Is CER-100 by Elizavecca the best dupe for Olaplex and Possibly K18? For less than half the price of Olaplex, CER-100 promises to deliver soft, shiny, silky and overall beautiful hair. The fans of the now famous hair mask, which includes influencers, claim that it's not just a great product, it is the best dupe for today's top high-end hair masks, including K18 and of course, Olaplex. But is it? Or are we dealing with pure hype?
To find an answer, I decided to test CER-100 for 1 week, then 1 month and finally 2 months, hoping to give this mask an actual chance on my hair and get closer to the truth behind the so-called miraculous hair mask.

This test was based on the product’s description of how it should be used 100%. No added products were used as it defeats the point - knowing what IT does and finding a “dupe” for efficient products. If we HAVE to spend on more products, isn’t it better to just get the real deal instead of a dupe for the same price? Also, this product lasts very kittle - another hit to your wallet. Love seeing you!! ❤ Check out how Olaplex and K18 work in comparison. Olaplex: ruclips.net/video/ibVuMe3XFpw/видео.html
    K18: ruclips.net/video/hiHBLzYivaY/видео.html

The problem is not the product. It's that people don't educate themselves on actual hair care. Proteins are only recommended for hair 1-2 times a month. Especially if it is on the dry side (which curly and textured hair usually is). A good general chronogram for mask use is:
    - Hydrating Mask
    - Nourishing Mask
    - Hydrating Mask
    - Protein Mask
These only being applied once a week. So four weeks = 1 month. This would be the monthly mask schedule for regular healthy hair.

Seems like it's a treatment more for high porosity hair which needs protein to fill in the gaps. Olaplex isn't a protein treatment. Once a week is excessive.

ispropyl alcohol in this will NOT dry out your hair. it's not even an added ingredient, it's just part of the herbal extracts used in the product, and the total amount of alcohol left is less than 1%. you can worry about alcohol in hairsprays and hair mists, because it's the main ingredient in those. fragrance will not irritate you either (unless you have mega-sensitive skin) and is also used at less than 1% here. silicones do not build up just like that; ingredients like butters and waxes are way harder to wash off than silicones. amodimethicone is a hair's best friend, cyclopentasiloxane does not even stay on, it's volatile; and dimethicone is the miracle-repair ingredient used in all damage repair hair products, because it fills in any gap and makes the cuticle smooth. it's also used in small amounts. so that leaves protein. i see a lot of them, all used at less than 1%, but they could add up to like 3% or more (2-3% is the amount used in diy hair formulas). as a rule, any commercial product uses a tiny bit of anything, for cost purposes. but as i said, it could add up to be a bit too much for your hair type. so i'd say protein may be the culprit. but why did your hands react to the product ? it could be any ingredient, really... some people are sensitive to certain things but not others.

@@beautyandthesavage Giiirl i'm crazier than you are xD Oh btw, here's a tested experiment : when using coconut oil on my dry frizzy curly hair as a pre-poo, I get nice nourished defined curls because the oil consists of pure saturated fat (like butter or ghee) and contains no protein. but when using coconut milk (or cream) instead, i get stiff straw-like hair, because it contains 3% protein. interesting, right ? xD

I might be one of the minority whose hair turned even frizzier and drier. Now I'm wondering what to do with 2 packs of this treatment. No hate, it might work perfectly for others and because of this I had high hopes for it, but neither this nor even k18 helped my hair get healthier for some reason, so I got back to my two professional haircare lines, which are not that popular worldwide, and voila - my hair is at least looking soft and not that hella frizzy right after washing.

My queen! Really choosing what you put on ur hair and scalp is somehow challenging. I am super happy with what I am using as a hair shampoo and body wash. But buildup from heavy water and air pollution is challenging me with my allergies. Especially that my hair is wavy/curly. I read some bad stuff from silicone and sulfate on hair and scalp leads to hair loss... Etc and water quality effects everything! Since in labs water used is distilled not lime water or heavy water or spring water. This is a game changing.

Hola Chica….for me it’s usually the alcohol & protein. Protein when I’m doing an actual protein treatment good, bad when I’m not. Alcohol as Isopropyl, Ethanol & Denat for me are an instantly drying ingredients. Silicones have gotten a bad rap but I find there are certain ones that my wavy, sometimes curly, always frizzy hair needs. Oils are beneficial but I use them with the silicones, not instead of……thanks for taking one for the team!

this is not a dupe for olaplex 3. It is a protein treatment which olaplex is not. The active ingredient in olaplex, Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate, is not present in this formulation and is the only chemical ingredient in existence to date that adds synthetic disulphide bonds into the hair. There are no other products on the market that contain this ingredient. Proteins, peptides, certain acids, and other ingredients like inositol absolutely do provide some structural improvements and repair to hair, but it is different than what olaplex does. K-18 does not have Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate either as K-18 is an acid and peptide treatment. Most of the time it's just different form of conditioners that coat the outer part of the hair and make it look better, but that is only temporary. As the industry is not regulated these companies lie about what their products do all the time. It's the ingredients that matter in a formulation not the claims. I love that you do these trials it's so helpful :-)

In which case, considering the need to buy more products, I think it's worth buying better quality masks, instead, that last longer and deliver results alone.

For some reason hair products seems have similar formulas and ingredients. I had to study ingredients for 5 months to understand really good ingredient what can make a difference on hair. Because I made a goal to have long blonde silky hair till waist line, while my natural level is 4.
It made me read, learn, search and try a lot of products.
And this one is in my opinion heavy on keratin, so it would be good got hair damaged with bleach or damage after very high heat temperatures. When hair is so soft and smooshy :) Or when you over moisturized your hair.
This product probably can make hair shinier those who has thin hair but not dull hair.

That's a super tough question to answer.... it depends on your hair needs and hair type. For me, thick, dry hair, IT IS 100%. I love how easy it is to use, no waiting around with masks on your hair and all that. But others HATE it and love Olaplex instead, which I also like. Others hate both. I can say that CER-100 was definitely not it. The little product you get, the waiting around, needing more products to get descent results on my hair, etc etc... I rather save a little more and get the real deal.

Not accusing you of lying but since conditioners may be needed maybe they don’t say it because the customer will quickly realize the extra cost on more products makes this pretty useless. If you add $7more bucks, you can get a high-end efficient mask!
