That's my baby! (The Kross, not Woody!) Nice video, Mr W! It's really nice to hear stuff on the Kross so different to what I tend to use it for. Really enjoyed it.
Been missing these videos! It’s not just keyboards that sound great by the beach - trad flute, harmonicas and the Xaphoon also go great with a beach - especially at sunset; strangely - I’d never take a guitar to the beach!

I owned a Kross for a brief period of time, and though I enjoyed it, I couldn't really find a use for it, given the other synths I already own. Watching this video I see that you have found the perfect use case: light and inexpensive, but lots of nice features - perfect for a trip to the beach!
i'm not sure if I've ever got around to doing a review on the kross, just loads of demos so far. glad they helped anyway, i really dig mine too! congrats!
Looks like you've got yourself an actual piano shack! I can never quite place your accent, it sounds like a very soft Irish accent. Also nice to see Korg are still rockin the early 90s sounds for their presets! Awesome video as always.
Incredible video! Thank You for sharing this experience. Excellent playing! That combination of modern digital instruments with such a natural environment always gets me in the best way.
Excellent composition - both musical and visual. @4:30 sun, ship vs ducks, waves, shore... Nature composes the shot for us - all we need to do is to be observant enough to notice it and hit the record button!
i had to keep reminding myself to take inspiration from the scenery for my melodies, but I think that also takes some practise, so resorting to my usual riffs and chords :)
It's great to see you back playing keys. This video is really nice. Elegant playing and visuals. It's my third time watching it and there may be a forth. I trying to reverse engineer some of the things you played. And your definitely famous. If music companies send you free keyboards to try you are famous. Q: At 8:20 the last song. The piano is so low. How are you doing that with the rhythm track in the background? Is it just the beat freestyle? Cause normally playing you'd get some kind of accompaniment and it doesn't seem like you have that in the last song.
so glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the comment. I should make a video how I make the most of these combis, you can enable arp and drums separately, and the two realtime switches do interesting stuff to the layers, finally I use the filter cutoff knob a lot to adjust or cut the intensity of the backing sounds. experiment with that and you'll get similar results or better!
Such a shame there is nobody watching you play live! I love playing in music shops and then turning round and seeing people enjoying my music. The place for that is Benidorm, Spain. No, not me! But I like to watch people playing in the warm evenings. And 2 things: They play really well! I mean professionally or semi-professionally. REALLY WELL!!! And the gear they play! Really expensive keyboards etc. Kurzweils, Ketrons, top Yamahas etc and really top keyboards and synths. Well apart from the new trend which is controller keyboards connected to laptops! OK, it's still good but I love it when they use a good keyboard. My wife gets a bit annoyed though, as I MUST find out which keyboard it is, and have a little chat with the player etc!!! Anyway, great to see you playing live music by the sea. Next time I hope there are some people around you appreciating it. And... Are there any musical instrument shops around? You could try doing a video playing inside a store, with their permission of course. Great to see people's reactions too... Best regards, Phil
