I think Macdonald nails this in that he says God wants us to make a claim on Him. This in turn allows God to redeem us/save us without violating our free will.
God will seek Job like Adam. Chapter 7 has strong Gen 1-3 vibes in general. Job contrasts himself to Leviathan (Tanin), to the sea, to being from dust, and to God needing man... In some ways its like blaming God for putting a snake in the garden but instead of hiding from God like Adam, Job says "I'm here, but why? Why set me up? Why seek me? I hear you calling- there's no need for this suffering too

Thanks Jess
Loss initiates grief. Always.
