Shot Spotter and cameras are not intended to stop crime, the are used to give police real time information that shots have been fired as well as remote eyes to check the area / track a suspect.

It does work. It gets police to respond to a scene quicker where shots were detected. Even if the shooters arent caught, the potential victims may be rendered life saving aid when they otherwise may not be.
