- Check out this 1979 Pontiac Trans Am from the 2018 SEMA Show. If you follow the channel than you know My first car was a 1979 Pontiac Trans Am...So they are near and dear to My heart... This 1979 Pontiac Trans Am from the 2018 SEMA Show still retains the cool factor of the 79 Tans Am but has been taken to a whole different level from stock...The black paint that it is covered in is a mile deep..The bird on the hood is paint...And the colors used just POP! on that black paint...The interior is all custom..But again it still has a 79 Trans Am look about it...The other option that I absolutely love is that it is a T-top car...Very cool...IMHO...Wheels are a personal choice and these have that snowflake look that was so popular back in the day and I am fine with them...I had the 403 Olds engine in my 1979 Pontiac Trans Am...And that was the only thing I could complain about... Lack of power...This 1979 Pontiac Trans Am from the 2018 SEMA Show doesn't have that drawback This 79 Trans Am has a 6.2 Liter under the shaker hood....Although the shaker isn't connected to the top of the engine...It's still very cool and a iconic part of the Pontiac Trans Am legacy....A Pro Touring 1979 Pontiac Trans Am from the 2018 SEMA Show...How cool is that!?!?...I'm a fan and I am sure you will be to....Check it out!!!

A Pro Touring Trans Am....This is not something you get to see at every car show man! And this build is just top notch all the way around. Love the T-Top, the paint is 10 out of 10 and great choice for powerplant too!

When I was born, my mom had a 73 Firebird, then traded it in on an 80. My 1st car was an 86 T/A, I had a 99 too. They hold a special place in my heart. This one is very cool!

Thanks Scottie, Whoever built this Trans new what they were doing. Orange n gold bird stands tall, I really like the bigger wheels they set the theme of it off. From the slick paint to the famous T-tops it screams highway...

I grew up repairing wrecked vehicle's. We were poor, built our own frame machines and everything. I got my education in science, physics and engineering; so now more than ever, I can appreciate the amazing work these people do. I only wish I had half the talent it takes to build up a show car like this.
Scottie it really means a lot that we have an auto enthusiast like yourself documenting the finished work of these amazing talented builders here in the States.

Except this car is a T/A in name only. Gone is the classic styling and what remains is a beautifully painted bastard of a car.

Workmanship and execution spot on, don’t like the wheels or LED headlights but that’s just me...love all T/A years, owned a 77 6.6 back in the day, one of those cars I wish I still had😊

Nice ride!The tow hook is a requirement for most race courses and is used for recovery if the car is wrecked/broken down on the track etc.
I get that...You think this was built for the race track....

The lack of a 3-spoke steering wheel is a bit of a departure. So is the tow hook. Tow hook? Is it 4WD? LOL

I'm not feelin the exterior changes. This year model car needs the Godie and overkill look from factory to make it work. Because we love to hate it, and hate that we love it..
