About a year ago I was moving and I was sorting through my movie collection deciding what to keep and what to get rid of.
I picked up my Smokey and the Bandit collection dvd, hemmed and hawed for a few moments and finally but the collection in the get rid of box.
Less than a minute later I walk upstairs for something and Eastbound and Down starts playing on the radio.
I turned right around, walked back down stairs and moved my Smokey and the Bandit dvd set from the get rid of box into the keep box.
"My handle is Smokey Bear and I'm tailgrabbin yo ass right now!"

I had a Trigger clone in high school until I tried to jump it one night and totaled it. And I’m glad that you kept the authentic older Georgia plate.

I've owned 4 Pontiac Trans Am's over a decade starting in 1987 thru 2003, 1 being 77 one-of-a-kind gorgeous blue and white pearl paint job, 400 Pontiac motor, 350 Turbo automatic with a 293 Highway gear. I bought it in West Jefferson Ohio. I passed by it going to work everyday for about a year until I finally stopped and talked to the owner. Turns out there was eight hundred miles on the rebuilt original numbers matching 400 and they had installed a mild Crane cam TRW Pistons roller rockers Blackjack headers. They left the original intake on with an adapter for the Holley 600 vacuum secondary carb, I swapped that out for a Holley 650 spread bore double pump that bolted right on to that factory intake! She was a beast even with those gears in the rear end, I miss that car! The other three were all 78 trans am's, 2 with t-tops one of them being an original 4-speed Muncie Rock Crusher with GM Fisher T Tops which was incredibly rare and had a provisional code on the cowl tag with a subframe support from the factory due to that fact. My third Trans Am was blue 78 original paint 4 Speed car and last but not least I had a 78 Brown Hurst hatch t-top automatic Trans Am. All four had the numbers matching Pontiac 400 motor which are damn near indestructible and my favorite motor of all time! You won't find a bigger 77-78 Trans Am fanatic anywhere! I know every nut and bolt on them. The 77 and 78 Trans Am year was the best-looking Trans Am ever built. I currently do not have one and I want one again Dag Namit ! 😔 RIP Mr. Reynolds

Lee Crawford I'm going to keep pushing this idea. In 3 years it will be the 50th anniversary of the first race that, as I'm sure you know was won by the late Mr. Yates and the LEGENDARY Dan Gurney. Although they won in a Ferrari 365 Daytona.

I agree. F--- the LS overdone crap. Build an aluminum Pure PONTIAC (505 or 535) with decent aluminum heads, hydraulic roller cam, efi, turbo or/and supercharger and let that torque monster loose on the streets! PONTIAC EXCITEMENT FOREVER. Anybody can build a chevy. PONTIAC is better than that. #1 in GM in my opinion.

I saw Bandit One (The original car) in Miami at Trans Am specialties of Florida. It is owned by a Venezuelan gentleman who professionally restores vintage Trans Ams and Camaros. Awesome place.

The one in the movie was an automatic. He meant pure to the original depiction of the Bandit.
I understood what he meant by the auto choice because of the movie
If you listen to Burt driving the 77 black Trans Am in the movie you can hear the gears shifting like it's a manual. They did use an automatic car in the movie but they dubbed the audio with a manual sounding Trans Am.
My all time favorite car, I rebuilt a 79 TA, it's silverish blue with a darker blue Phoenix. Out of all my cars it's my baby, I've modded it more than I initially wanted to (like I always do), but it's still great.
God would I kill for a '77 Bandit Trans Am that was modified for performance since the original drivetrain and all was choked by emissions and all.

I had a 78 400 4 speed in high school 1986. While the 77 and 78 were great he definitely should have picked the much harder to find 74 trans am.

My very first car was a 1976 Pontiac Trans Am - it was brown with a golden chicken the hood. Had a 455 coupled to a 4 speed manual transmission. Too much fun for a 16 year old I'll tell you that.

I know a guy who bought a darn near mint & cherry 1978 Bandit Trans Am. He is slowly turning it into a Fire Am. He ruined the Bandit, but thankfully he is keeping everything taken off for the swap.

I walked outside one morning to go to work and my Kawasaki was not where I left it. Well damn, had to find something, young and not much cash. Found an old car, through a friend. It was 20 years old. Been sitting up for a year or so. Put a battery in and it fired right up. Needed brakes. Paid $300 for it. I'll just drive it til I find something better I says to myself. It's been my daily driver for 30 years now. Been through hell and back several times over.............................................yeah, I'm getting to it.......................
1968 KE10 first generation Corolla. They only sold 7,242 in the U.S., I'm third owner of this one and the only others I can find are in museums.

Did I miss something, or did he have someone else build it? It says "I built" rather than "I paid someone to build". Unless he did it, but from what I gathered (only pretty much paying attention) he knew someone and they gave him a great deal. Just asking.

There used to be a guy named Dan? that worked at Speed Inc, I believe. He might even still work there. He had a pretty badass AWD TT LS swapped GMC Typhoon. They've built a few trucks, IIRC. At least 1 Syclone and another Typhoon at some point? Maybe it was green?

One time I had a replica of KITT from Knight Rider and I owned an office building in which I was throwing a party for all the employees. This party was to take place on the second story of the building. I was always surprising the guys with crazy stunts, so this time I decided to go all out. Before I arrived I fitted the car with cameras all over inside and out and had a couple guys at the office who knew I was coming flying drones to take video footage plus a guy inside the building. Earlier in the day I had built a ramp in the office parking lot, we had hidden it with a bit of shrubbery and nobody ever noticed it. So I'm about to make my big entrance I come driving up to the office and hit the ramp, as I do I press a button on the dash the makes the PA speaker on my car say "Turbo Boost KITT" in David Hasselhoffs voice. At this point I crash through the second story window right into the party. I had the guy who knew I was coming make sure everyone was away from the window of course. But the entire office just went insane! They loved it! The hardest part of the whole thing was getting the car back down, we ended up having to rent a crane and have the car lowered down like that. It all went off without a hitch though, the car wasn't damaged at all, just a few light scratches from the broken glass which would buff right out. So yeah that was the day I turbo boosted into a second story office party.
