Battery level so important now a days! That Sebring I bought awhile back had multiple issues that all stemmed from a bad battery.

@@OnlineMechanicTips I didn’t one on actually solving the problem. The car needed a battery so I did that first figuring I would deal with the electrical hiccups after I had good battery source. With new battery installed, all problems disappeared!
Same thing just happened with my 2015 200. Changed the starter, battery went dead, jump started it and its stuck in neautral. Car starts right up now just stuck in neautral. Called mechanic shops near me and they have no idea what this is. I wish i had that speacial scan tool. I have to tow it to the dealer so they can charge an arm and a leg for this! But thanks for the video and its good to know my car wasnt the only car going through this!

You are so right on about the batteries now. Just cause the battery can start it, doesn't mean it can manage the systems. Good video man.
Nice to know I fixed this problem before I got there because I bought my 200 and a month later I got the update recall and I took it In and not even a month after that my battery gave up on me but I didn’t have any proxy issues

Brilliant video and explanation....just goes to show you how important the battery condition is before you start diagnosis.. Like I posted in one of your previous videos...batteries do not last as long as they use too.. That is my opinion. Great video....keep it up..

From first hand experience...a dead or dying battery causes all types of weird things to happen with the 200.

That's just Chrysler in general as well as Porsche. They love bad grounds. But over all make sure the battery is innnear perfect condition. I use the ones where you add distilled water to it help keep them a bit longer but you know if the battery is going to fry itself
Keep having issues w power on my 200. Frustrating because a lot of the times its been the battery for me. I do not want to get into this mess. Ty for your info.

Question. So I’m having similar issues. Mine won’t go into park. Goes into every other gear fine and when I go to shut the car off in neutral is automatically goes to park when car is off. As soon as I turn the car back on it goes to neutral again in park and it’s starting to shift hard. Is this a proxy unsync?
I Did a proxy alignment on my 15' 200, i activated my DRL i used AlphaOBD

I now have two Jeeps due to an accident which I t-boned last year by a 25 year old girl who was way late in running a red light, no license, no registration, no good reason to be behind the wheel of any vehicle. Plus I had a cop right behind me that witness the whole thing and he used his SUV to block her jeep and she crashed into that too while trying to get rid of her fleas too!
So I end up buying a used white 2014 Jeep Cherokee Limited, 3.2 L V6, great looking, fully loaded but everything but the toilet is electronic.
First thing I had problems with was the tranny, which I captured like 8 codes with my scanning tools and almost all of them are battery related. The battery was only 2 years old.
Reason why? Because Chrysler Jeep uses the cheapest POS terminal battery cables that have a tendency to come loose and fall apart while driving.
So I had a couple goals with this Jeep, replace the battery with a new one, wire up my Ham radios, add LED Light Bar, add a 12 VOLTS LEAD ACID BATTERY DESULFATOR Revival Rejuvenating Battery Life Extender and a 15 watt solar panel in the rear side window.
The only part I had to buy was the 12v battery at O’Reilly’s for $217 because Sam’s Club only had a Duracell (These batteries SUCK!)AGM battery for $247 +tax & $22 core fee, which I traded in a dead soldier so I can keep & reprogram the old 2 year battery with my BatteryMINDer 2012 Pulse/Desulf Charger to use for something Ham radio related.
The most important part on this Jeep is the battery, the battery and the battery.
I have a emergency roadside go box kit with jumper cables and a few tools. So I added a 10mm box wrench and two of these small 100 watt cardboard thin solar panels that I have wired up with Anderson PowerPole connectors just like on my Ham radios, LED Light Bar, emergency LED dash flashing /stroke light bar to put on top of the dash pocket.
The first sign of trouble, I went to the NHTSA website and even with all these miles, my jeep was on the recall list to get the tranny reprogrammed and splash the updates.
Plus I discovered that this Jeep is a ticker also. So I’m going to spend the $670 to rebuild the top end with a new cam shaft kit w/ lifters/rockers, new spark plugs, and oil pan gasket. That should give me about 150k more miles or until I trade it in within the next 2-3 years since I live on a island and don’t put on very much miles each month.
This Jeep looks in mint condition but I may mount a brush guard on the front and maybe a trailer hitch in the back to add a HF antenna. Still thinking…🤔
To your point, JT, the battery and charging system is nothing you want to pokey around with, “get er done”asap. 😅

Moms old 08 PT Cruiser she willed to us sat in the driveway so long after we got it the battery went so dead even my 200 amp cart jump box wouldn't turn it over, it just buzzed and clicked. The posts were also loose and the positive one is missing one of the copper straps. I put the battery I saved from my Neon that is fairly new and it was dead too but it was taking a charge. I let it cook for half a hour and it charged up and started. I put the old battery on the box and after a while it seemed to actually take a charge so sat it in my old van not connected to check later. The PT started today without help so thinking the Neon battery is ok.
Got lucky, no lights and everything works again. Might have to look at pulling that fuse you mentioned if sister doesn't start driving it again if it has it.
It was clicking so bad at first I thought the starter was bad because most cars will crank right up when I put that cart on them.

Love your video Sir! Very well done! I have a 2015 200s that has the 3.6 engine and the 9 speed transmission, only 34,000 miles. We were getting clunky 4-5 gear shift when driving at 30-35 mph. This would happen when you let up on the gas and quickly hit the gas during urban driving. We took the car to my Chrysler Dealership and had the PCM and TCM flashed and a "quick learn performed. They did not do a PROXY alignment which they indicated was not necessary. The car still does it occasionally but not as severe. Should I insist on the PROXY alignment?
Curious was there any codes in your TCM when they checked? Also are you subscribed to the channel?

@@mikestackhouse9001 Well I would say this, that procedure does nothing for transmission shift improvements. In fact, all it does is make sure modules align or sync together. From time to time when battery power interrupted, a module may get knocked out of alignment such as what happen in this video. So when they view proxi data on the scan tool, they can see if all modules still aligned. Fact is, not much at all dealers will do to that trans except make sure the TCM up to date (which is what that flash did). That and the valve body the only thing we allowed to repair/replace. Anything other than that it gets a complete unit. But now that the software up to date, give it time to re-learn, it should get better.
I'm dealing with that issue right now my 2015 Jeep Cherokee but when I test my battery it says it's got 12.6 volts

Had the battery checked it's all good had the transmission flashed still have service park brake on and will get stuck in neutral and when I do get it in drive it's blinking 🤷 even will speed sensor showed a code replaced them still doing it even check the ECM
@@andrewspray5542 Ok, This set up is the same as this 200 in the video. You TCM moldule likely knocked out of Proxi alignment. Some body with a good scan tool will have to re-enable the TCM. Make sure your battery connections are good. If you cant find nobody with a good scan tool that can perform this task, you may not have much of a choice but to visit a dealer where they have the best scan tool for this Jeep
I have this problem now and i found that i had a bad battery connections to where the terminals came off. Do i have to get it the pcm and tcm modules updated with a new battery and cables? Or can i just replace a new battery with new terminal connections and it will fix the problem?

Hi, i have a 2015 Chrysler 200. My car makes click noise but won’t turn on. However radio, and dash and everything is on. To turn it on I have to disconnect and reconnect the battery connection and it turns on like nothing. Mileage is blinking. Don’t know what is it! Might a proxy alignment help?

I need help
Here’s my issues:
1. My car would not open even with the emergency key, open the door by force
2. Car wouldn’t turn on
3. Car turned on, but A.C and Radio no longer worked
4. Car wouldn’t turn off at all
5. Car wont move, tried putting it in Drive and reverse but wont move
6. We changed the battery but nothing, still the same issues
7. Car wont turn off unless you physically disconnect it from the battery
8. Car wont turn on
9. Car is completely locked

@@AnimationKid Yes, its very likely your TCM trans module has been knocked out of proxi alignment. That could happen for a number of reasons. A battery replacement is not a fix for this but merely a prevention. You need somebody with a good scan tool or you will have to have it towed to a dealer

@@DLexii O wow, your transmission module has been knocked out of proxi alignment. If you no somebody with a ggod scan tool they can fix it for you. Otherwise, you will have to toe it to a dealer.

I bought a Chrysler 200, 2015 and i parked the card for 3 months and travelled and now i am having trouble even starting the car, automatic gears functioning are 1, 2 and 3 only and gear shifter cant get into L, what could be causing all of these issues. As a professional technician I must humbly ask for your help in knowing what scan tool you are using. That is capable of doing a flash update and monitor proximity alignment. That is clearly dealership level of technology. Because I have a X431+ pro V and it’s not capable of doing that as well I’ve not seen any snap on tool that is capable of that or Aurelio Maxis that can do that now. I’m getting into newer vehicles and I would really like to learn more about this. Because there is always something new to learn so staying humble is rewarding. Would you please be so kind as to give me this knowledge to help me in my journey cause I really want to learn.

Nice video, I may have the same problem with the 2021 Ram 1500, the red light for neutral is on all the time and the truck not shifting at all. The shifter does switch to all P-R-N-D but I don't see the bottom shifting gears linkage moving or sometimes when starting the car I see the linkage moves a little less than a quarter of an inch. I checked the neutral override and reset everything nothing works. Whatever I did the red neutral light stays on. If you tell me please what you think
Was wondering, im from a rural area, some of the same issues going on with my 2015 200s , however i go to ask a dealership and they have no idea what a proximity alignment is. i guess my question is what questions do i ask when asking for a proxy alignment, cus these guys around here are dumbfounded and is there away where i can reset the computer myself without the scan tool?
Hey bud the thing about dealers is that they want to perform a diagnosis first instead of hearing of a diagnosis. But to answer your question, its hard to perform this feature without a good scan tool.

Some dealerships don’t even know proxi alignment. I just took my Jeep Renegade to Jeep dealership and they don’t even know what is P15000 fault code.
I used Autel MaxiAP200 I even showed them the fault code because battery failed🪫.

Witech is only way to do this. I know Autel and Snap don't have the option. And you used with witech. So you left out the most important info. A lot of RUclipsrs seem to do this. Just enough info to get someone in trouble😂

O wow. Just so you know, the cluster is a module. All modules may need to be reconfigured. Some may have been knocked out of proxi alignment. Im not sure this a DIY job because you need a real good scan tool to check/do this. You may have to visit a dealer to get it done.

My friend if your car bricked, theres nothing you can do yourself without a good scan tool to get modules back online. If you dont have a buddy with a good scan tool then you might not have a choice but to get it towed to a dealer to get it done.

so long story short you need a factory scan tool to perform the proxy alignment. But diagnose any underlying conditions that may cause modules to come out of alignment..
@@Djbask No you don't. All you have to do is get OBD Link MX+ and AlfaOBD and you can do it yourself. It worked for me but like you said you have to make sure the module is working or else doing the proxi alignment will completely remove the module and you might get some weird things happening.

PLEASE COMMENT BACK…I have a Chrysler 200 and when I be driving it will cut off on me and EVERYTHING will lock up to where I can only put it in park. If I was to cut it back on after it cut off sometimes it will cut back on sometimes it will make this noise and everything will light up but everything would still be locked ( gas pedal, brake, shift gears ). Please tell me you know what the problem is…I already spent 675 trying to get the problem fixed and it’s still happening.

I'm working on a 2017 200. When I turn it off and shut the door the dash never shuts off. It continues to stay lit saying to press the brake and the start button, which drains the battery. What is the cause of this? Can you explain what conditions need to be met in order for it to fully power down?

@@OnlineMechanicTips I am subscribed, thanks for replying. It was in a wreck recently, front left fender got hit. That's when the problem started. I can't find anything wrong with any wires at the moment. It has codes mostly due to low voltage, etc on almost all the modules. Cleared them, EPS module was getting implausible comms with abs module and abs module was getting non comm with EPS module. Performed EPS relearn and cleared those codes. It still has right side and left side seat deployment squib circuit open codes that we don't intend to fix unless it is related to the issue I am having.
@@OnlineMechanicTips update: I did some digging on identifix. Unplugged the c9 connector at the IHS star connector and it shuts off. According to identifix the solution is to replace the integrated center stack.

Just was experiencing this on the same model. Disconnected battery negative cable and car dies.
Reconnected and it stopped staying in N.
Disconnect and reconnect should reset system and make it shift properly

just a question, when you were pushing the start button, was it allowing you to turn the ignition off completely? i have this same issue with the shifter but i have to tap the button with the key repeatedly for the ignition to shut off otherwise i have to disconnect the battery. i just picked the car up 2 days ago and it’s stuck in my driveway with this issue, please help lol
also, before i picked up the car the battery was replaced but the positive terminal is broken it doesn’t tighten completely, thinking this could’ve caused a voltage issue which may have caused the proxy to go out of alignment? maybe?
@@gregrice5976Yes, your system bricked. Theres nothing you can do personally without a good scan tool. Computers have to be in sync.

2015 cherokee. no, I just came across the video. It will start and I can drive it but it won't shift though gears and it will get stuck in neutral if I stop and try to go into reverse.
Chryslers have some of the weirdest issues ever and they always end up immobilizing it

My Chrysler 200 2015 battery died after a jump it was stuck in neutral.. once I replaced the battery and put in a new one the gears are shifting but it’s not accelerating or driving it keeps saying car is not in park but it is… also once we get the gears to shift the car won’t shut off I have to disconnect the battery to turn it off… all this stemmed from a jump and dead battery please help
