I’ve seen Mandarins on the Longshaw pond so it doesn’t surprise me that they’re on Padley Gorge too. They probably like to seek cover under all the over hanging tress there. I really like the long exposure waterfall. It has a sort of matte look to it, probably from the vintage lens. I love that whole area around Longshaw and surprise view. Always shots to be had there. Enjoyed the video.

Thanks Scott, really glad to know that I wasn't hallucinating! I love this area of the peaks as well but tend to avoid it as it gets so crowded, although to be fair most of the peaks can be like that! All the best mate👍

Great buying Scott. The A7R3 is an awesome camera choice for you. Good value for money. I think we are both the same in looking for a bargain yet getting a solid and goid camera at the same time. Beautiful shots mate and well done on the video. Cheers 🍻👍🙏

Thanks Adrian, really happy to be able to get some content out after my struggles the week before. I will be even happier when I give the camera a good test with some wildlife, as always as soon as you buy new kit everything disappears😂 Thanks for watching mate, have a great week👍

Another great video Scott, as I've never done landscape photography, it's something that interests me, and will be giving it a go definitely. Thanks for sharing Mate 👌📸

Thanks Lee, I always enjoy a session of landscape photography, especially when the wildlife photography isn't going well. Sometimes a short break from it allows me to refocus!! Thanks for watching mate👍

Look forward to your future videos, I'm a bit similar to you as I recently picked up a bargain price , Sony A9 as new barely used. I still have a Canon 7d mk ii and love the simple Canon controls but love the Sony images

Thanks Colm, the A9 was on my list as well but for me the A7r3 gave me a bit more versatility. Both great cameras and like you I still do miss my Canon 80d👍

Hi Scott, with regarding zoom lenses I must admit I use my 55-210mm most of the times as well I find that you can stand in one area and with that zoom you can turn in a circle and take multiple shots instead of having to change lenses all the time and walk nearer if this is at all possible and not mentioning the risk getting dirt / dust on the sensor - I still need to look at my equipment and I have also been checking out the Sony RX10 IV as it offers the complete package but I am not sure about the image quality and I find it rather expensive - good video. Cheers Glenn from NZ

Thanks Glenn, I am a great fan of modern zoom lenses as I find they compare very well with modern primes. This wasn't the case in the past which is why I generally look for prime vintage lenses. I think you would find the Sony RX10 IV limiting with regard to bird photography as whatever way you look at it and whatever size zoom this is, its a tiny lens letting in a small amount of light. I don't have experience with modern bridge cameras but I can't think of any Wildlife photographers on youtube that use one so that must be for a reason.👍

24-105 is a must have for landscape! And Sony G is a great one and oss can be helpful in some cases. But if you can live with the 28 instead of 24( which I can't!) go for the Tamron 28-200 which gives you more reach

Thanks Shahab, I am getting a lot of recommendations for the Sony 24-105 which is looking the favourite at the minute!👍
