    Thanks for sharing, I've been watching some your uploads, like how you go the long way round when working out the issue rather than just drilling everything.
    Thanks
    Gary 👍🔨📐🪚😊

      @GaryThomsonJoinery ya, I don't like the driller killer approach. I think it takes away the skill in the job. 👍

    Great video mate 👍. Definitely shows the experience when you try to fix the issue rather then straight for a lock replacement 👍

    Love the use of your finger on the gt 85 nozzle! very relatable, they should come with spare heads 😂 thanks for the upload mate I just learnt how to take a mortice lock apart properly. Wish I knew this a couple years ago when I opened one at work and some springs popped all over the place, I just called it a loss 😃

    • @ActiveLockCentre
      @ActiveLockCentre  2 месяца назад +1

      @jackdaknife to be honest, I pull the nozzle off most of the time as I find it better to spray into cylinder key holes and then, of course, lose the bloody thing 😂

    Of all the locks nowadays... The old mortice lock still provides an impressive resistance to tampering.. Amazing how that design has lasted... If it ain't broke don't fix it... But on this occasion it is 😂

      @ActiveLockCentre yes.. A screw and claw hammer is all you need.. Although newer ones are more secure

    I would fit a new lock to give longevity for the customer , the lock you fixed obviously seen better days 👍

      Yes, I agree. That's why this is part 1. Because I didn't have the right size lock case on my van so I got it temporarily working until the new lock comes in 👍

    Great video again, Learnt another little tip. I’m a bit worried about your breathing. I had symptoms like that got rushed into hospital with pneumonia. Doctor missed it when I went in he give me steroids on my first visit when I told him I was struggling to breathe. 👍

    I’ll always try to fix it before replacing it 100%

    Does it cost more to change the lock ?

    • @ActiveLockCentre
      @ActiveLockCentre  Месяц назад +1

      @M.Halawi Yes, to change a lock would cost more than just a service.

    Maybe a daft question but ill ask anyway, does having that many keys on the there put extra wear / strain on locks when the keys are left in?

    • @ActiveLockCentre
      @ActiveLockCentre  2 месяца назад +1

      That is a good question, I would say it probably adds to it, but probably not enough for that size of keys. Maybe a bigger bunch could wear the lock quicker. 👍

    Could you not have used the curtain out of the 3 inch lock to save a revisit?

    • @ActiveLockCentre
      @ActiveLockCentre  2 месяца назад +1

      Yes, I could have, but it wasn't too far for me to go, and the keys were worn, so I made the call on a temporary repair. 👍

    • @matthewrichards552
      @matthewrichards552 2 месяца назад

      @ActiveLockCentre I don't like having to go back to jobs, I would have swapped the curtain, levers and the keys to get it done in one hit, especially as you had spent that much time trying to sort it out.
      But as you said, it was not far, and also, if the lock you had was in a visit pack, then it's a pain to then keep it all together afterwards.
