These are the ones I’ve got as well and they’re brilliant. You really do forget they’re even in. Until you’ve had them in for a full day in the shop that is. The audio quality is terrible, there’s no way around that. But, you can still make out what’s going on in the music while dressing timber so that’s a plus.
Hey Phil! I thought the sound quality was average at first, but once I got the earbuds fitted correctly the quality improved so much! I would try a different size of ear tip.
Isotunes are made primarily for PPE, but the audio quality for music is much better than first encountered. The key to much better audio quality is ensuring the fit to your ear is correct and accurate. With the right fit, the audio quality is dramatically improved. Interestingly, Robin himself has recanted on his initial impressions regarding the audio quality now that he has had some time to improve the fit. That said, Isotunes are not BOSE. Their purpose is primarily safety and practicality, not an audiosonic experience. Their practicality in the workshop - as you say - is their intended purpose. As for the music, perhaps improve the fit and see how you go, mate.
@@timbeconaus I’ve got the fit right. My problem is comparing them to my Shure in-ear monitors… actually, speaking of fit, I’ve yet to see anyone actually put the. In correctly.
@@saramckinnon3693 nope. The drivers and frequency response are just not that good. However, as PPE they are brilliant and I am absolutely loving my pair. I simply got used to a higher level of audio quality from years of in-ear monitoring on stage. I was assuming the audio quality from a pair of Shures SE-215’s wouldn’t be too far outside the realm of possibility. When you consider they also have to cram in the bluetooth stuff into such a tiny capsule, the sound quality you do get is actually quite remarkable. Where they really shine is in the noise reduction for phone calls. That is simply astonishing.
My Isotunes pro 2 have been great, on the loudest jobs I just put the over-ear peltors straight over them, they are so small it works perfectly and you can’t hear anything haha. I was struggling with spray finishing when using over ears, glasses and a respirator. I was going to get a full face respirator until I went with the isotunes, saved me $450 right there 👍🏻.
For anyone about to buy these, they are NOT active noise cancelling. They isolate loud noises in the same way foam ear plugs do. Meaning: when you’re listening to your favorite podcast or audiobook, as soon as you use a machine like a power saw, the noise of the saw will not be blocked out enough by the foam rubber in your ears to allow you to keep listening to the audiobook. Music may be ok, but these are no good for voice recordings. Louder tools like jackhammers and planers are not “isolated” enough by these ear bud style plugs to be a safe option for ear protection. Hope that helps.
Thanks for the review Robin! Really helps as we move into the Holiday Season!
Thanks for your honesty great review
Great review. Just picked up a pair! Was using over-the-ear but am working outside quite a bit and they're just too hot in the sun!
Good choice!

Thanks Joe! Glad to hear you like them AND that they saved you some serious cash!
Can a single review not be an advertisement for the product?

Batteries do not last in these things things. After less then a year of sporadic use they do not hold charge. Lucky to get an hour per charge
