Indian music masters and teaches Melody like no one else, this is the major pentatonic so clearly, simply, and most efficiently explained using the human voice to sing the intervals.
western music teaching will show you a staff or some artifical and confusing visual patterns, but this is how the Indian music teaching does it, directly from the singing human voice which is so much more familiar, authentic and real.

Even though there are similar raagas in Hindustani and carnatic you can not equate in the style of singing.

There is not even a single raaga which we can decide as 100%equal but same notes are used in different GAAYKI
Raag maayamaalavagowla may be nearest to raag Bhairav but sanchaara in carnatic is s r g m p d n s
In hindustani we never start raag with s r g m but we start with
N s g m d n s and no p d n s but m d n d s...

I call Mohanam a UNIVERSAL scale.. when someone mentions Pentatonic, the first scale that comes to mind is MOhanam. Brilliant raga which could be adapted to practically anything..be it for a hardcore classical composition eg. (Poovil Vandu) or a breezy slow melody (Nilavu Thoongum neram). And many songs on lord Krishna were tuned in this scale, just as Hamsadhwani for Vinayaka.
