So lovely 😍 it’s so funny to hear you critique yourself because every time I’ve watched a ballet everything looks perfect 😂 that’s one good thing about the majority of your audiences not knowing a thing about how it’s supposed to be done. These commentaries are super fun to watch
I just wanted to let you know that I am a large, uncoordinated human who has no rhythm or interest in dancing, however I found your channel randomly about a year ago and I’ve watched every single video on your channel in full. Sometimes I find myself sitting there, watching you do an advanced pointe class, and I wonder “why am I watching these with such interest?!”, and the truth is that you were definitely born to show and teach others this art form. I am incredibly interested in all of your videos, and am so inspired by your commitment to this art form. I may not have an interest in dancing myself, but since watching your videos, I’ve booked tickets to see four or five ballets in the past year. Thank you for igniting this unexpected passion in me! :)
Thank you so much for sharing that with me! That makes me so happy. That is my goal here - to bring the joy of ballet to everyone. So thank you so much!
Kathryn Morgan of course! I just wanted to let you know that you’re reaching not only people who are trying to become professional dancers, but also people like me who fall in love with watching and supporting this art form just from watching you speak about your experiences as a professional and watching you perform. I’m sure you already knew people like me were watching your videos, but I felt the need to tell you because I think encouraging creators is important even if they know they already have support! Love your content, Katie, I hope you have a good day!
'Oh, this is a "where did he go?" moment...this ballet has both.' 😂 Your commentaries are fantastic! I also enjoy listening to them, then taking a look at other performances, and seeing how each one differs. LOVE IT!
So lovely seeing you perform with the NYCB members. I think all of the NYCB Juliets perform this role beautifully obviously, but you have such a lightness about you! Definitely my favourite I have seen thus far, though I have never seen it in person.
i love how you give yourself constructive, non-deprecating criticisms and then compliment yourself once in a while. i wish i had such a healthy outlook on my own dancing.
I find myself rewatching these just for your hilarious commentary😂 you’re such an amazing person! I wish i could meet you someday and ask you about literally everything there is to know about ballet!
"Tybald, chill out dude." I love your commentarys so much! It's all in one dancing and the explanation of the story. There are so many videos on youtube of people doing beautiful variations, but they are hard to understand without the context. And your videos show me everytime, that your acting is as fantastic as your dancing.
I LOVE YOUUU😂 these are seriously my favorite vidoes. like i will have a terrible day (or basically any day) and just get home and watch your videos and my day will get so much better😂 thank you so much for making these videos they are very helpful
You're so funny on these comentarys, It's always so fun to watch it. As a not dancer, theses videos makes me understand the ballet "history". Love those!
You are so beautiful in this role Katie! I can see why it was one of your best roles, I really enjoyed watching you. Please do more R and J commentary!!!
I just love every detail you take in count while interpreting Juliet. I think people nowadays just study the choreo and that's all. I would like to have an advice. For vídeo auditions for Trainee Programs or Summer Intensives do you think that I should show exercise in which I'm working a lot of technique or exercise more danceable (if that makes sense for anybody). I would appreciate if you o anyone here sees my video audition in my channel and give me some recomendations or any positive feedback. Thanks Kathryn and all the ballet dancers here!
Lunadiviner Hi there! I've done research and squats are not bad if you do them correctly. You don't need to use weight while doing them or doing the fast because a contracting the muscle over and over and really fast will crete a bulky muscle and we want to keep them lean. And about nails, short are the best. You don't want to risk yourself or your partner/class mates to get hurt while dancing. Hope this helps! Greetings from Costa Rica
Interestingly Kathryn mentions this is her Pilates full body workout she posted recently. Something along the lines of 'yes they are fine, but don't go too hard or low, etc'. I prefer to do the leg pulses that she has done in various leg workout videos anyway as they lengthen your muscles. Hope this helps!
Loving the commentaries! I was lucky enough to watch the ENB perform 'Song of the Earth' and 'La Sylphide' this weekend. I definitely smiled during the #wheredidshego bit and spotted a where did he go moment too!! The choreography for Song of the Earth was crazy... Pas de trois (not sure if actually called that lol) and epic lifting sequences 😯

Can you do a Q & A video 2018? I've got some questions: to be a dancer, how much dance should you do at 10 years old? What do you think are the 10 most important things about being a dancer? How much ballet training do you have to do for a contemporary dancer?
Hi Katie! I might go to this new ballet school next year. Would be okay if I dance 3 days a week but each day be more then one class to be a professional dancer?
Hi Kathryn could you do a video about recovering from injury? I had a very bad ankle injury and it took me 18 months to recover enough to be able to do pointe work again. I always loved it before but now I constantly worry I will get another injury that will stop me from getting on pointe ever again. So I hesitate a lot especially on turns which means I'm not half as good as I used to be. Thank you x
Hey Kathryn! Can you please do commentary on the scene where Lady Capulet and Lord Capulet try to get Juliet to marry Paris, then she goes to Friar Lawrence and when she agrees to marry Paris and then she drinks the potion and then her friends, the nurse, her mom and her dad find her dad?! You’re one of my favorite ballerinas!!! 💙❤️😘
Hi I’m a dance student in Knoxville Tennessee. I’ve had this deep passion for pointe since I was little. I’m 14 and just started pointe for the very first time! My ankles are weak and I have no technique. My pointe class is only 30 mins long. Being in the pointe shoes has only hurt me mentally knowing that I’ll never be able to do what I love. I often dance in my room to the nutcracker not knowing any technique, but it feels so good. I’m trying so hard to improve, but I just have no where to go. I watched your videos and tutorials, but without someone to correct me or slow the lessons I just struggle and lose confidence. Please give me some advice! My passion for pointe is draining me mentally, because I have no where to go! I’ve tried and tried, but without help I do the wrong things over and over!
Hi! I was wondering if you could do a video on how to prepare drawstrings on pointe shoes. I have extremely narrow feet and I'm not quite sure how to get the drawstrings quite right. Your help would be appreciated!!❤️😀
When you were talking about pirouettes from fifth I actually only do single pirouettes from fifth and not from fourth because I think they are easier for me on pointe don't ask why...*goes to watch the balcony scene*
"I'm still here, and I look great in my cape." Lol! Dying.
Haha right? That's what he looks like he is saying. :)
"It's okay, Juliet. I'm still here. And I look great in my cape". kathryn, you're absolutely delightful.
Thank you Shannon!
"You. Here. WHY?"
If that isn't the next shirt, I'll be super sad.
So lovely 😍 it’s so funny to hear you critique yourself because every time I’ve watched a ballet everything looks perfect 😂 that’s one good thing about the majority of your audiences not knowing a thing about how it’s supposed to be done. These commentaries are super fun to watch
aww thank you!
"I'm still here and I look great in my cape." Your commentaries make me laugh every time and are so much fun to watch!
Haha thank you Lauren!

Your commentaries are fantastic! I also enjoy listening to them, then taking a look at other performances, and seeing how each one differs. LOVE IT!
"It's alright Juliet, I'm still here, and I look great in my cape." Her commentary cracks me up man😭😂🙌
This is just lovely! You have the most gorgeous and graceful arms
So lovely seeing you perform with the NYCB members. I think all of the NYCB Juliets perform this role beautifully obviously, but you have such a lightness about you! Definitely my favourite I have seen thus far, though I have never seen it in person.

'Listen Tibal, just chill out dude!' Hee.

Just as I was about to sleep, this video drops! Love this video and the forever seeking male lead 😁😂

I love hearing all the inside tidbits! These videos are fabulous
You're so funny on these comentarys, It's always so fun to watch it. As a not dancer, theses videos makes me understand the ballet "history". Love those!
I love your brief postural change at 4:20 - 4:21, before he whisks you back into being a Woman. I really appreciate these commentaries - thank you!
You looked so graceful! Really beautiful to watch. Great choreography.
I loved this! You are seriously such a lovely dancer! Then and now! I enjoy the commentary to help me understand the story better!
I know nothing about ballet and I love these!!!
“You are here why?” got me hahahaha. So good
You are so beautiful in this role Katie! I can see why it was one of your best roles, I really enjoyed watching you. Please do more R and J commentary!!!

Thanks Kathryn and all the ballet dancers here!
Yay!! So happy you’re continuing with this series 😊
Can you do another ask Katie? Here are some questions
Are squats good for ballet dancers?
What length should dancers nails be?

Yes - I will do another Ask Katie very soon!

Quick #askkatie questions : What are your thoughts on dancing to opera with the singers on stage? Have you ever done that before?
You are such a beautiful Juliet! Thanks for uploading these.
You are so grateful I love your dancing
Kathryn, you're truly amazing!💕💕👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
"It's okay Juliet.. I'm still here... and I look great in my cape." LOLOLOL!!
The choreography compliments Prokofiev’s music really well. There are parts of the ballroom scene that reminds of the Classical Symphony 😊❤️
Yes I agree!
Great video! Love this series! I can’t wait for the next #oncuponapointe 💕
Thank you!
hey! can you do a video on tips to remember barre combinations and choreography?????
Yay! Been waiting for another Juliet clip!

Kathryn I love your videos! One of them helped me achieve triple pirouette
So great, thank you so much!! I might have missed if you addressed it, but was it hard for Romeo to dance with a mask? Seems like it would be awful!
Hello Kathryn! I was wondering if you might consider making a video about how to heal and handle blisters? Thank you:)
Which choreographer is this? I've only seen the version of Neumeier, and this one seems different. I love your comments by the way! :)
Hi Katie! I might go to this new ballet school next year. Would be okay if I dance 3 days a week but each day be more then one class to be a professional dancer?
Which days do you upload? Love your videos by the way
When you're in class and get the notification Katie posted a new video but you have to wait until break to watch it 😩
Those Balanchine cross-over arms! Wow! (I would probably get murdered in-class if I started to attempt to introduce those :p)
I totally get it! We were murdered if we DIDN'T do them haha. "Cross more!!"
"More wrists!" So interesting to hear about different styles. xoxo
Yes I've been waiting 😄
Question for ask Katie ;)
my feet always cramp in pointe shoes even when I'm just one minute on pointe. do you have any tips?

Yay no dislikes!!!!
❤
💕💕💕
Commentary for the death scene!
Does Amar have an Instagram account?
omg is this the one instance where the girl is looking for the guy? Where'd he go?...Where'd he go?
At one point you said that when you where 13 you where a bit chubby how did you lengthen out to be on a company????
Loved the video 💕
