BEST INTRO TO A VIDEO EVER!!!!! She’s sooo cute!!!!
So great to see a dad interacting so positively with his children teaching them essential skills!
Love the way you include the kids even though we all know it takes so much longer, but they are learning life skills and quality time together.
So. Much. Longer! But worth it 😀
Thank you for teaching your daughter to build and use tools! You deserve that “special” tool for the job!
Courtney, you are IN FOR IT!
Emerson is SOOOOOOO a mini you!!! LOL!
100%
Love seeing GREAT DADS in action!!! Great Job Kids (and Dad too)!!!
a quick tap with a hammer starting those screws helps a ton. I do it for my kiddos so they can get it done effiencenlty
I love seeing the girl involved. Keep up the good work! Good parents!
You're an awesome Dad. I love how everyone is helping out . Family is beautiful ❤️.
Good job amazing
We Are!
Penn State!
Go team Archer!
That roof looks awesome. Especially nice attention to detail with the drip edge. That will be standing strong for decades.
Anything worth building is worth over building 😂
Oh my! I want to see more of that cute young lady LOL! Emerson you are going to be a star carpenter if you want to be!
She absolutely could be!
When I was searching for “attaching the roof of a chicken coop” I really didn’t expect to find the exact tutorial I needed. So happy! 🥰
Same, we are building a coop with a metal roof. Never installed a roof, let alone built a coop. Machinist by trade. I figured I'd take a shot at it. I'm glad I found this video to show me how to install this roof.
We’re years in the and the roof has held up well!
I like how much you have the kids involved!
They’re so capable of you let them learn!
It's beautiful weather. And the added bonus is, you have your children helping you.
They are good helpers most days!
Nice work .....
Oh she is Adorable. Oh nice coop.
Love your channel!
Thanks!!!
Life is good on Beagle Road. Thank you for allowing us to share in your adventures!!
Our pleasure!
I LOVE that Emerson helps you build! I see her having her own channel one day! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I love that you allow the children to help
Always! Hoping we can pass on as much as we can to them.
I’m getting ready to put a roof on my coop and build my run. I was going to do a gable roof but you made this look a lot easier. Thanks for slob the helpful tips. I also love that you are teaching your children how to build.
No worries!!
This is why kids need dads!
Well done dad!
Luv that the kids were involved... Teaching them basic life skills... 🖒
We figure it takes twice as long now, but eventually they will help speed up the process!
Now this is Homesteading at its best, a true family endeavor. The build is really looking good, thank you. Robbie you got better and better as you did more drilling. Nice work young man!
He will get there for sure!
You did a great job and I learned it wasn't that hard once I learned what to do.
Kids are learning allot though this project. It looks good.
Hi from northern central West Virginia this is the first time I seen your family and yes I subscribed love how you get your kids working with you im looking forward to seeing more. Yes I see this is a older video. God bless family
Looking great guys! Love all the family teamwork. Have a great rest of the day. Blessings
The run is looking great, Kenny! Your kiddos are awesome helpers!
Thank you for all the pointers. Also, appreciate showing how to incorporate the whole family
They're good helpers!
20 seconds into video and had to smash that like button. The fastest ever for me
Two thumbs up!!👍🏻 👍🏻
That is looking good. I love the gutter. Great way to collect water for the birds.
Thumbs up!!
Oh I have missed soooo much while moving!!!
I am so out of order -but I do t care I’m just so glad to see you all!!
Love your work with Emerson!
Love how you include your children in your projects. This is missing in the lives of city kids.
All kids! People need to pass things on to their kids... builds confidence and teaches independence!
Super GIRL comes to daddy’s rescue ! Just in time .
Kenny, your helpers are fantastic and Emerson seems to have a pretty good grasp on the construction process. Nicely done there.. hope you get the remainder of the screws you'll need to finish it!
Great intro, Bridgette!!! Emerson & Robbie were great helpers too! Loved the goat peeing & chewing on apron at the same time at the beginning! Hahaha!
The goats are so helpful 😂
Awesome intro such a cutie..
Great helpers as well
Have a beautiful day 🌻🌻🌻
wtg Emerson! Great intro and great way to be daddy's big helper! 😇
Great job!
Love the intro! So cute!
DeWalt makes a screw holder that might be something to look for and pick up there's two sizes.
Loving this project mate! Also love the sense of humour
You need to put a sleeve on the drill for the bit until Robby gets more experience with the drill. Being the vertically challenged person I am...He also should also be one more step up using a bigger ladder so his arm is in line with the drill for leverage. You're a good dad teaching both kids how to use tools. They will definitely appreciate it when they get older.
Yeah, I ha e one with a sleeve but the sleeve slipped completely off and didn't work anymore. Need a new one. I would have let him go up one more on the ladder but the ground was eneven and didn't want him to fall off. You know how it goes... If it's not one thing it's another or all the things. Hahaha
Lol, I don't think your son is into building or learning about it either. Thankfully you can do or redo what he messes up, or let Emerson finish or fix it. Thanks for the laughter and much respect to you. Peace
I remember being thos age and building with my dad and being a mess. He said I was more helpful at 4 than 11. - Courntey
Awesome introduction epic delivery. Great vlog.
Thank you. Funny part is the video was all done and she told me I missed her part. I thought she was just going to be silly and then she banged that out. I was knocked to the floor with how awesome she did!
Get Robby a screw sleeve for that driver. 😄
He is so my kid! -Courtney
I am adding a metal roof to a 4 panel pen i have but im not sure how to do it. It is a 10x10 pen and i have 10 2x6 boards and some misc 2x4's. I have 4 12 1/2" by 3'3" metal sheets (the type for metal roofs on a house)
Kenny, first of all. You have great helpers. Emerson seems like a natural in front of the camera. I'm building a shed with a slanted roop (because I can't build rafters). Is there a reason why yours has such a high pitch? I'm still learning. Great job on your run.
We tend to get wet, heavy snow, so this will help keep it from piling up on the roof.
Thank you. This is very helpful! Do people normally notch the perlins? How do you secure the gaps in the roof on the sides?
I AM Robby. Hence, my husband the tools from me...
So much to watch in this video (I actually watched it twice!). I'm impressed with how it was a family affair. Nice to see the kids learning self-sufficient skills from you. 👏
The goats were trying out the shop apron......and, was that a channel cat(fish)??? Might have to watch again.....😀
Yes! We have two cats now and they help with everything.
The Roof is On The Run! Is the refrigerator running too? OMG you better catch them! Don't put them where the goats are, though. Do you have Prince Albert in the can?
We love a good pun!
This will collapse with two feet of snow. Need 2x6 rafters minimum to cover 10 ft or more.
Ryan what size beam would you use on a 10x24 with a 4x4 every 8 ft , I was thinking 2 2x4s on top of 4x4 s with 2x6 rafters. I'm no carpenter , do you think that would work, for metal roofing sheets of course with purlins, thanks
He got the bird mouth and the hurricane ties for super support !
Great video! What are those brackets called that hold the roof?
Simpson Strong Tie H1Z Hurricane Tie if your talking about the the ones on the rafters. Pretty much all hardware is Simpson String Tie and very easy to find at HD or Lowes. You can also just cut a birds mouth notch and save the cash
Did you have any problems with condensation from the metal roof dripping down?
Emerson, Honey, sometimes I want to hammer stuff too.
It's that so true?!
What do you use to attach the flashing to the wood? Thanks, doing my chicken coop roof now.
The roofing was attached using roofing screws with a neoprene washer. The drip edge was attached using galvanized screws.
Do you ever put the wooden gap filler strips made to fit the ends of the tin roof on? Or, do you use the gaps as part of your ventilation system?
We have left them as vetilation.
Life On Beagle Road, after I saw those ends I had to ask. They even make then for the wavy sun roofing panels.
What size of purlins are you using?
1x3 - the cheap stuff the Home Depot bundles up
On your leading edge of the roof, do you get any water running under the roof since the flashing isn't wrapped over the roof panel? I was thinking of doing the same for a small wood shed but don't want water dripping in.
We added flashing and intend to do water collection.
Life On Beagle Road cool. Thanks
Anyone know what this roof is called and where can I buy it? Thanks
Corrugated metal roofing. We got ours from a building surplus supply store near our house. They have similar stuff at the big box store.
@@LifeOnBeagleRoad Thank you for the fast reply. I have one more question. How do I over lap my run is 20' wide and 20' long. I only want it covered from the coop to 10' out for some shade and in case it rains. I'll be adding tarps for the winter to the sides. I wish I had a husband right now. lol or I was younger, but at 65 I'm still determined. So any advice will be appreciated.
@@mima4392 so I layed the first two inches over one another and followed that pattern. Our run is 30' but only 10 9f it has a roof. So the first 10' have a pitch. The rest is the same height front and back. There's a tunnel from the run to the coop which I did in a different video I think. That allows them to go from the coop to the run and back. It also allows me to cut off the run from the coop if I need to do so.
@@LifeOnBeagleRoad Oh I see. My run is attached to my shed/converted to coop. I used 4x4x10 all the way around with 3 doors. So I can bring in mulch from the front and not go all around my house on a suburban lot. And 2 doors in the back. Good thing because only one fits my full sized wheel barrow for cleaning out the coop instead of the small cart. Mine will be a lower pitch because it's connected to the shed/coop. My shed it pretty tall with a floored storage area. I want this roof mainly to catch water.
This is not good. A pára lecsapódik a belső felére, és csöpögni fog a tető befelé!
Too much bs.
