Gail, my friends and I are taking your course called Money Matters and it is helping us understand things so much better. We are making positive changes to make our lives much more comfortable. The information you share is crystal clear in understanding. My class is so much happier thanks to you Gail. We all thank you very much indeed and god bless. :)
gail has solid lessons to pass along. rock solid good sense. she got me out of debt by watching her shows and listening, paying attention, getting a kid's school notebook for 35 cents at an old zellers. just curious: odd last name - is she Portuguese background?
WOW!! what do you actually get in terms of maternity leave in the USA?? not a lot from what I am hearing on here!! in the UK the employer pays your maternity leave for a year, and paternity for a period of time for the Dad ( that can be a few weeks to a few months). Just like NHS we have all healthcare taken care of in the UK. I dread to think how much it ACTUALLY costs to have a baby in the USA, between paying for healthcare, medical bills and having to return to work immediately afterwards because you don't get paid for maternity leave!! Its incredible that the population keeps growing in this country or any other country that you actually have to pay for any of these things!!! it is also incredible that they can call themselves a first world country or a leading country when they do not put American people first!!! what do their government spend their money on exactly?? apart from wars that is!!
Mel Kennedy this show she spoke about is Canadian, not American. Here in Canada some employers have a year mat leave.having said that you don’t get your whole salary. I think it’s 70%.
Mel Kennedy Well aren’t you a ray of sunshine. The fact is, everywhere has its problems, and people who live in glass countries (*cough*brexit*cough*) really shouldn’t throw stones. As for the US, there is no federally mandated maternity leave other than FMLA, which allows all workers to take up to 90 days off per year for medical reasons for themselves, their spouse, or their dependents. Many employers are more generous. The big exception to that is unskilled jobs.
Honestly, my Hubby and I were in the same Boat! We finally decided to get our butts in gear and face what we had gotten into head on. We found out through Tracking everything that we were being nickled and dimed to DEATH. We have now found a system that works and in 7 weeks have paid off a substantial amount of our debt, BECAUSE we now know where our money is going. It is hard to get past the crap at first, but once you are tracking it you will realize how much you can save/pay off just by tracking your spending!
It's scary and daunting at first, but after a while you actually like it, you see debts getting smaller and saving getting bigger. you find yourself having all these brand new possibilities you didn't have before! I went from barely saving anything to averaging 1 000$ a month in savings. I spent 10 years wishing I had the money for XYZ, HA!! after 4 months I can afford an awesome vacation, I can afford a house I can aford a life. All I had to do was get to it and crunch the numbers and adjust my habits! good luck, it's worth it when you realize you are spending willy nilly every month on crap you don't need!
It's funny how she criticizes individuals that are interested in getting the debt down. While she approves of the major overspending of the lie-beral government in Ontario. It really tells you what she really knows about balancing a budget. She doesn't !
You can either critique her politics, or you can use her tools to get yourself on solid financial footing. Or you can speak out of both sides of your mouth

Gail I love your ability to get across common sense with money. I've had my moments. Thank you!
Your book is really good about how to break bad habits
Never knew Gail was Jamaican! 🇯🇲
Yep. Born and raised
I modified the tracking thing. I had a book that I wrote it all down

I do know she's of Jamaican background
@@MsDonttrythisathome Ahh, that explains the slight Caribbean accent
She is from Jamaica! 🇯🇲 FYI, she emigrated to Canada in 1977.
💚💚💚💚her!!!

Incredibly annoying interviewer. Let Gail talk without talking over her and making it about you.
Keep track weekly if you cant do it daily...its like washing dished...it sucks, but if you accumulate it, then it becomes a mamoth task
I don’t like tracking my money because it makes me feel like a failure that I don’t make more money. How dumb is that?
I’m kind of the same

Just human nature but fight it. Listen to "Till Debt Do Us Part" and make a plan. Think positively! Good luck!

drdecker1 when did she approve that? She’s done lots of interviews where she criticizes the liberal government.
