I like this movie's depiction of Kuai Liang as young and brash, and letting his emotions sometimes get the best of him. It's different from the games where he's mature and wise. Good contrast to the regretful, level-headed Scorpion in this movie, too.

This is exactly how he is in every MK game prior to deadly alliance. He is also portrayed as hot blooded in Mk9. He is only cool and collected after maturing.

Part of Kuai Liang's big thing around MK3 when most of this movie takes place, he's maskless and scarred after escaping the Lin Kuei. I think the bigger question is why they made this younger version of Kuai Liang bearded like his future self from MKX.

I admit, I'm happy we have that divide of WB Looney Tunes and Mickey Disney, DC and Marvel,Star Trek to Star Wars, Mortal Kombat and Capcom (MvC3), the contrast is so apparent that I enjoy Warner Bros' depictions of their IP's compared to what Disney's doing with their.
Hopefully over time he becomes stronger and we finally have a clear image of Bi-Han (Sub-Zero) < Scorpion < Kuai Liang (Sub-Zero) Being able to freeze pretty much anyone in seconds should already make him extremely powerful but I always felt Sub-Zero got the Flash treatment But don't listen to all the words coming from my mouth i've been a Sub-Zero fan for a while now, after I looked more into his character

I always thought that this was the ending that should have been in MKX, with both subzero & scorpion teaming up to defeat Shinnok, the final battle should have been a tag battle with both Subzero & Scorpion. I really don't like the whole "Cassie beat Shinnok" thing.
This movie was ok. It was all over the place though and I felt like they tried and rush it by putting all these other characters in to fit the narrative. Really disappointed in scorpion and sub zeros story line. Could have been more in depth.

Kuai Liang’s mastery of ice projectiles is insane in this movie. He has ice extending kicks and icicle forming palm strikes. Goddamn.
MK9, 10, & 11 have showed he doing some stylish feats with his cryomancy so the fact that he much more substance with his attacks is very fitting
