Rode this one out in Victoria. Really wasn't bad until 3 a.m. that night. Then we just had this feeling like everything was about to break. What I remember most though is how glad I was it stayed cloudy and rainy with the power out.

I lived in Conroe Texas when this happened pretty much all of our neighbors got flooded except for us God was with prayers out there to the people that are still affected by this horrible storm
Same, it was really bad. They let the lake conroe dam go bc of all the water and it flooded the river and majority of the neighborhood. A guy with only his underwear on came banging on our door at 4am
I was little when this hit. I don't remember anything, I was just happy we got more food, especially Gatorade. I didn't think anything was really going on. I slept usually at 7:00-8:00 pm, so I didn't hear or realize how bad it was at night. I didn't know why my parents were frantic or did all of the stuff they did to prepare us. It was just them and their 4 kids. I went on through the days wondering, "Why are we staying inside?" and 1 year later, I realized the damage it did.

Look at all these people buying into the hype about hurricanes...They are nothing but wind and rain, over grown thunderstorms....I've been through many of them living in Florida. I'm more afraid of drunken drivers.
Charley, Frances, Jeanne....WOW Florida survived....The way people act, a nuclear war head just exploded...Seriouly,with hurricanes, just take cover...The news blows these things out of proportion.
People should have a plan B and even a plan C in place. Emergency money....If you don't , that's your fault for not planning ahead for a rainy day (so to speak). Those without insurance, it's their own fault.
