    5:02 Even thought Tibet was de facto independent during that period, nobody including USA really recognized Tibet as an independent sovereign state that is separate from China. With China not agreeing to Simla Agreement, Tibet never stood a chance of being on world stage despite not being under Chinese control during that time. In order for a country like South Sudan or Bougainville to be independent, all parties involved must agree.

      USA - early industrialisation with massive influence and military might gained after all possible rivals were weakened after ww2.
      Russia - mostly because of the Soviet Union and the power left over there however Russia has the most land on earth to work with a huge amount of resources. It is the weakest of the three however.
      China - absolutely massive work force however it industrialised very late which Europe and Japan exploited. Recent capitalist policies are making it very rich so it is expanding its influence and power in modern times.

      @madladz457 2 года назад

      Short answer is that these three countries were winners of WW2, along with UK and France.
      But in the case of China and Russia, China back then was the Republic of China (ROC), or what we now know as Taiwan (an independent country), they were recognized as victors of WW2, not their communist counterpart, and used to have a seat in the UN until Communist China came along and kicked ROC out from UN (cough cough USA) because of the whole One China Policy. Meanwhile, in Russia, USSR was a thing, and its not just Russia, but also includes the Caucasus, Central Asia, Warsaw Pact, and the republics that Russia has today (Karelia, Chechnya, Sakha, etc.).

It means the north and south sides of the upper reaches of the Brahmaputra. That is to say, the headquarter of the Tubo Dynasty.
      Actually counted by dynasty, Tibet has more than 240 years according to the clear document history. Second, greeks in meddival era Calling theirselfs Romans. They see theirselfs different and superior than helenized people in Anatolia. And people from anatolia are also not Greeks either. Thry helenized, thats true, but thry not Greeks. Other wise we need to say Persians occupied Greek lands in İran . And this logic goes for Egypt to modern day Afghanistan.
      Third, unlike Uighurs, greeks and Turks sign mutual deportation agreement. Affectivelly ended any ethnic conflicts(accept Western Thrace)
      Fourth, the part thry took from Cyprus is Turkic majorty. Thry didn't took greek majorty parts.
      Fifth, Armenia itself is literally a failed Nation. And thry were already partinied by Romans and Persians. Do blame them instead, Turks just took whatever left there. Even the modern day Azerbeijan and Turkey wasnt dominated by Armenians. Thry dominated by helenized anatolians and Caucasian Albanians.
      Sixth, China is literally controlled by Mongolic and Tungistic people until they became a Republic. So this is means, they didnt conqured those lands theirselfs. And their modern day borders are historically limited to Ming Dynastys borders.

    Most people who know literally nothing about China or have been to China shouldn't spread their subjective perspectives on the Tibet. I've been to Qinghai province, which is a province that's next to Tibet with many Tibetans living there. Throwing all the politics away, what Tibetans got are brand new houses with access to water and electricity, highways, railways and high-speed-rail on construction. Their living standard is improving dramatically year by year with visible development. As for the cultural reserve, there are no genocides! Tibetan and Mandarin are both the language that they require to learn. One detail I observed was that all the road sign in the regions are marked with two or three languages(including English if it's a major road). Tibetans get perks. Eg. Easier to attend top tier university in China, high pensions, etc. No matter what you say, Tibet is experiencing the globalization, gradually connecting with the world is definitely a good sign for the people.

Hong Kong developed due to the fact that it was the only major illegal "foreign" lands that connect the rest of the China(land by unequal treaty after the war). As a result, continuous wealth flew to Hong Kong from rest of China, caused Hong Kong to become rich. If Hong Kong is an island in the middle of the ocean, it's development level will be exactly like typical British ruled Pacific islands, or even worse. One thing that I have to mention that the British was the exploiters, Hong Kong should be much better with massive flowing assets, yet most of them had transported back to Britain, like rest of the British colonies. The Governors of Hong Kong were British all the time, they rampaged through the city like gangster, basically did nothing to contribute to the economy.

    You can now travel to Tibet to see and specifically ask the ordinary people of Tibet who are the ones breaking the chains after all these years.
    See for yourself how they live, talk to them, and find out what the former serfdom did, the ayahuasca drums, the human skin thangkas, and get into Tibet now!

    Hey Guys you need to know that a normal human cant go to tibet they would be exhausted by the high altitude and the harsh climate it is no joke tibetans are superhuman for thousands of years the tibetan empire fended off many enemies and took on many conquests even reaching to the mediterian and even reached as far as to bagdhad it is only when the tibetan empire broke of from internal turmoil please do research and the only reason why china was able to invade tibet was that tibet had less population than before it had almost no good weapons only from ww1 and with the chinese manpower and technological superiorty did they invade tibet. but it still took 28 years for the chinese to take the last region of tibet from the people of tibet.

    I guess you haven't been to China to do any actual research. The Han people in the south are a very complex group, with different dialects and lifestyles. Because of this diversity, the northern and western ethnic minorities do not have so many obstacles in the process of contacting the Han culture. Because of the existence of local dialects, Chinese characters and Putonghua are indispensable. Otherwise, even the communication among the Han nationality cannot be achieved. Just like India, South Africa and other countries implement English as the legal language, this is a very common way of cultural communication, and Not a cultural genocide.
