fun fact! Lana didn't want to release this album because it was extremely personal. But she had to because of her label. And she hated when interviewers asked her about the album because it was too personal to answer. So, this truly is an insight to her past
Also, Lana is very inspired by the 60s and 70s era. I’m convinced she lives in a fairytale that is centered in 1964 Los Angeles where it’s summer all year around and she has this extended summer fling going on the entire time.
May I ask…What is the word she said after this sentence? The one sounds like "esercier" or something. I'm kinda confused. I"be grateful if you would answer my question.❤️❤️❤️

OLD MONEY. Brooklyn Baby (Lou Reed was supposed to sing with her, but he died ! So the producer (one of The Black Keys band members) sang it with her instead. Lana is very 60s and 70s oriented... You got it !!! I don't know how much you know about Lana... but she has been sober since she was a teen (except marijuana). She was from a very upscale area and a teenage Catholic schoolgirl who was a total alcoholic... went to rehab. Went to Fordham... dropped out. Went to NYC and NJ and was a drug counselor for runaway teens. Is a Bruce Springsteen fanatic. And a Jim Morrison fanatic... a lot of Lana is a creation... she's been there, done that, and she writes for people going through it. In some ways it seems glamorous, and a lot of younger females don't seem to hear the sadness... or they think it's just always gonna be that way... I love this album, and Lana... but I think she knows a lot about music that most people don't... she knows who Nancy Sinatra and Dusty Springfield were !!! Love your reviews, you are always honest about how it's hitting you !!!
I personally like ultraviolence more than born to die. I like the dark vibe too it and there are so many songs i LOVE like Ultraviolence, Shades of cool, West coast, Sad girl and Pretty when you cry. My second favorite album would have to be honeymoon it is Beautiful.
It's so hard for me to choose between Ultraviolence and BTD, they are completely different from each other. Yet the same in a way. Idk how to explain it. I got into Lana because of Ultraviolence so I love that album.
David Turner could you not feel the emotion the blackest day? There's something about honeymoon that's so cinematic and emotional. Religion and freak are masterpieces in terms of instrumentals. The whole album just creates such an ambience that you get lost in.
You missed Is This Happiness and Flipside from Ultraviolence album. Also Without You, Lolita and Lucky Ones from Born to Die. REACT TO PARADISE AND HONEYMOON.
Juan Rodríguez I've never seen Flipside on any album versions? I heard you can only get it from the Japanese version and target deluxe which I doubt is still being sold.
Yeah I know, but you can find it on the internet. On RUclips it is. I think before someone do an album reaction, they should look into the album like idk, Wikipedia, have all the info lol.
I remember when Ultraviolence came out I was a little let down because I was so obsessed with the sound of BTD when it came out that I expected a continuation of that. Now, I consider Ultraviolence to be her most beautiful album to date. Her magnum opus. She'll never be able to top it. Ever. Ultraviolence >>>> Born To Die >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Paradise > Honeymoon
I felt this exact same way when it first came out. I was dissapointed in the snippets but when me and my friends fully got into the Album we now think it’s her BEST album

As far as Born to Die or Ultraviolence it's a progression with Lana's music which was much more mature by the time she did Ultraviolence.
This is my favorite album of all time, of any artist. SO GLAD U REACTED TO IT.
It's a grow on you album. Dark and rough. You either love it or hate it haha
Edit: NFR beat it. Sorry.
Austin R how can anyone hate anything by lana del queen
THANKS FOR ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO QUEEN OF RUclips
I mean Old Money is really sad but when I first heard Black Beauty I was so fucking devastated, when I listened to it live it was so sentimental, it's incredible!!!
QUEEEEEEN, I LOVE YOU GIRL S2
It’s crazy. I always told my brother my fav song by Lana is hands down old money. It’s the only song ever that made me cry the first time hearing it. The fact that you had the same reaction is so beautiful to me.
Ultraviolence song is about how a woman that can't realise that she's in a abusive relationship feels.
I would sell my soul to listen to this album for the first time again. It’s my favorite album of all time.
BROOKLYN BABY is absolutely everything!!!

I never had this particular experience but the empathy i feel for "the other woman" has me sobbing
I love how you pay attention not only to the song itself but also to the lyrics and instrumentals. You're really interesting to watch 💙 UV is my fav btw!
