We’re singing this new choir anthem tonight at our little Bible church in nowhere-ville, Colorado. Matthew 11:28-30 has been my theme passage for the past few years. In practicing the bass parts, this is so hauntingly comforting to a soul that’s been weary and heavy laden. Tears always emerge half way through as I hear again the voice of Jesus say . . .
I've listened to this often the last several weeks and I love it more and more each time I hear it. In this very troubled world, my soul cries out with anxious desire to find His rest. Thank you for sharing this beautiful message!
Come apart and rest awhile; You’re weary now, beloved child. I don’t condemn you for the things you’re saying; In self-sufficiency, your strength is swaying. Would you rest in My arms, and seek My face? Will you let Me fill your heart with grace? I have the remedy you need; I sow every good and fruitful seed. Without Me there’s nothing you can do; You’ll come to this breaking point, through and through. The enemy wants you to think it’s enough, To receive once from Me, and then try to be tough. To try to keep pushing through the day’s trials and troubles, Without sensing My presence in the midst of your struggles; Without asking immediately for the help that you need; That upon heaven’s Bread your soul freely may feed. You’ve been taught there’s inherent goodness in you- That you could speak from yourself, and the words could be true. But the father of lies lost the privilege of rest, And thus seeks to pry this sweet gift from your chest. But hold tight My dear, please don’t let it go. You have nothing to prove; no merits to show. I am strong in your weakness-it’s My joy to be! That at rest in My care you can truly be free. I entreat you, My child, to be lowly and meek; Only there can you find what you desperately seek. Do you remember how often I retired away, To a desolate place in the mountains to pray? Of Myself I could surely do nothing at all; Without My Father’s strength I would certainly fall. I was tired, I was weary, as even you are; With multitudes coming from near and from far. My humanity had nothing to give them, it’s true; But filled with grace from My Father, His works I could do. I was keenly aware of My need, don’t you see? And this is the secret, to truly be free. So come apart and rest awhile, I miss your laughter and your smile. The world can wait-untie the tether; Let’s go and be revived together.

Our priest has played this music during Communion and reflection within our old church. It is beautiful and emotive. I bow to your arrangement, it invokes lots of deep thoughts and memories. A wee lump in the throat.
Revelation 21 King James Version 21 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. 5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. 6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
Amen! What a wonderful amazing truth is expressed in this song! The arrangement is done so well. So peaceful, I could fall asleep with it. 🙏🧡 Thank you for this.

Hello there- which notes are you referring to? Is it the embellishments in the soloist's part? Those would have gotten too fussy/complicated to notate. We feel those are much better improvised freely rather than notated precisely.
@@BeckenhorstPress, please ignore any comment about being disappointed. It was an absurd comment, and everyone knows it. It was a masterful performance.
I absolutely love this song. Excellent work! You all glorify God mightily with your gifts!
Absolutely beautiful. This is haunting in its beauty. The majesty and love of Jesus shine through. Love this!!
That was hauntingly beautiful. Love this!

Getting the privilege to sing this solo when my choir did this is a memory I’ll cherish forever. Such a beautiful song ❤️

Dear Soloist, Stop SLIDING all over the notes! It sounds AWFUL! Apart from that, a delightful, inspiring song.
Half the notes sung aren't even in the music. What happened to accuracy, beckenhorst? Disappointed.
