@billygames7107 I'm going to get the XL version with a locker and use it as my desert truck and for road trips to out of the way places like the Yukon.
Thank you! I am considering a ranger fx4 and there are so few videos on it. I would definitely change those tires out if I picked this one up most likely Falken Wildpeak as I’d be going in snow here and there
There are a ton of videos of it. There are zero on the 2.7… literally everyone and their mama has done a review on the 2.3… meh seen it before. I’m getting an XLT with the 2.7… mmhmm!! Let’s gooo!!
@@DavefromCA2023 you are correct. My apologies. There aren’t many on that truck specifically. Anything else you can just upgrade your existing Ranger. Cheers man..✌🏼
I have the 2021 ranger XLT fx4 and I love driving it whether its highway or rough trail. Offroad in it is a dream after exploring mountains in an '04 ranger XL. Only thing I don't like is the temperature control is +/- buttons instead of a knob
I bought the Exact same truck except in Hot pepper Red. I couldnt agree with you more on the tires but now have a fresh set of KO-3s to go on her this fall... Great video guys... Thanks.
Pirelli Scorpion AT plus or Wildpeaks. I'm actually liking both the interior and exterior of the new Rangers. Might trade my Titan in for one of these in a year or two. Wish they still offered the Tremor package though...😢
It's a shame you didn't give it a little extra time to see what it would do. It was nice to see clearly traction control still active even with rear diff locked, you could see it sending power to the front right side tyre. Also strange when attempting a slow speed off road obstacle to not have it in low. Less torque converter slip and more torque to the wheels. Also will change up the traction control programming a little.
I have the same exact truck and i do agree Ford’s choice of tires are horrible even on my last fx4 but you can upgrade to a different tire on the fx4 but my dealer failed to tell me that i didn’t find that out until after i ordered the truck
2024 Ranger Tremor is in South Africa general grabber AT3 tires Bilstein suspension and 27mm higher but it have no difflock in front only in the rear but it have trail turn assist Wich lock the inner wheels to make a tighter turn offroad
I prefer the Wildpeak At3's and now 4's. I have over 50k on my Superduty and we will wear the goodyears out on the Ranger and then switch. Best all around snow, rain and wear for getting my trailers into job sites
As Goodyears are almost universally meh, to not great, you could probably put some Nexens on there and have a better result. Wildpeaks are decent off road, but are excellent towing and hauling tires, and very good in the wet. BFGs do BFG things. Great in dirt and gravel, okay in mud, and pretty so/so in snow and rain. BFGs are also notoriously under-sized. Nittos are trash, nay, worse than trash because they are kind of pricey. They just look "cool". Mickey Thompsons are excellent off road, if a bit loud on road. Yokohamas if you're over 55 and don't want any of those newfangled "attractive" tires. Toyos are a safe bet, but bias grip over longevity. My favorite brand for trucks right now is Kenda. They make an aggressive all-terrain for a decent price, and their RT is darn near legendary durable and hard wearing at this point. Milestar has good mudders, but their ATs are anemic. Sumitomo also sells a good no-nonsense AT that tows, hauls and wears very well. There are A LOT of options better than those Good years. Also, 255/75R17 is a 30.5 inch tire. it's approximately the same diameter as the previous generation Ranger's 265/65R17. It's just narrower, likely for fuel economy concerns. With some incidental rub at full lock, off-camber, you could fit some 265/70R17s. Easily if they are BFGs, as they are undersized.
It's weird when people test off road capabilities of trucks with highway air pressure in the tires. -_- Lower air pressure and the truck wouldn't have had problems....
Lmao, who does a truck review and never even pops the hood?Haha. I assume it’s because this one is the 2.3 everyone has seen a million times. Show us the real Beast Mode version with the U.S ONLY spec 2.7 engine built like a tank. I can’t wait to get mine… review or no review I WILL have the XLT 2.7 either 2024 maybe 2025… most likely ordering online in July! Super stoked!!
That tuned, this is just the hill test. Our full road test is in edit. Yes it’s the 2.3, the 2.7 has not been produced yet. Which is why we reviewed the Ranger Raptor on the same day 🤟

So glad to see a normal truck and not a raptor!!
Exactly, all the ranger stuff is almost all Raptor, a truck many of us cannot afford
Our thoughts as well!
I agree! I'm looking to trade my 22 Ranger FX4 and waiting to see a review.

I think a good tire (and often overlooked) is the Falken Rubitrek A/T.
My 2 wheel drive 2024 ranger xlt sport has a locking rear differential

Love the Falken Wildpeak at3w tires I've run on my Wranglers and Tundra. Will replace those with the new At4w tires.
The Hankook's they put on the previus generation were WAY better than those Goodyear's and probably cheaper. Like wth where they thinking?

Those tires need to be more aggressive if it's gonna do that hill easily.
Craig, where can I get those glasses? They are slick.
Great video. It probably didn't help that you had 45psi in the tires. I believe the recommended pressure is closer to 34.

I’d make the dealer put a set of Falklin Wildpeak AT3’s on that truck. It would go anywhere in four high.
FX4 is pretty much a Wildtrak in disguise
I will buy that truck if offered in super cab and 2.7, however I can’t find one! Probably will buy a frontier!
This is better than the raptor imo. More payload, towing, mpg, tight parking spots ability, and lighter!
Shifter looks better in the XLT than the Raptor
All this truck needs is better tires. No lift or anything needed. Xlt fx4 is a great package.

Cactus Gray
General Grabber A/Tx
Nitto Terra Grapplers G2
