@@ArnoVlmt Didn't really know how "prog dad" A7X had gone. The first thing that came to mind was Yes - Close to the Edge when I saw the phrase. Hail to the King is good but yeah, very dad.
I love each and one of their phases. The creativity and melodies are in every one of them. My favorite album is Nightmare, although I listen on the regular to my 6+ hour long custom pkaylist of A7x music Also your voice is cool!
Still remember first time listening to Bat Country. The chorus is just unbelievable and the solo is just awesome! Interesting that you identified Prog elements in Nightmare (song).
I'd say Nightmare is not necessarily prog, very straightforward song. But I remember the first time I heard it I thought "Ho OK it's going to be a proggy album", maybe Portnoy drumming or smth
Its weird cause it felt like on City of Evil they were experimenting with longer form songs even if they never were properly prog. I feel like City of Evil is probably closer to The Stage than Nightmare was - it has 11 tracks and average length of 6:40ish. I think people forget cause it has their buttrock hits in the first half 😂 Even then, the shortest track is 5 minutes exactly!
😂😂 Beginning is so hilarious!! So is the rest of it 👍. Bat country was the first song I heard from this band and of course had to check the band. Lots of good but also lots bad stuff in discography.
First answer: NONE. I swear I've tried but I can't get myself to like Avenged Sevenfold. Same happens with Megadeth, and I promise I've been trying for decades (I'm in the dad metalhead age range) If there's anyone still reading after the blasphemy, you'll have to worry when a Louis XIV style wig seems not to be such a bad idea after all 😂 Second
2 questions:
- what's your favorite A7X album?
- my wig collection is increasing rapidly... Should I be worried?
the answer to both questions is nightmare
😂😂 That's a good one haha
For real Nightmare is such a great album, probably the one I listened to the most with Avenged Sevenfold album too
@@ArnoVlmt thrash is my favorite genre and what we got in god hates us shows that avenged would've been amazing at it if they decided to go that way
@@toomanyblocks8448 huge Thrash listener here too! And I agree they could have been good in almost any genra if they wanted to!
Sounding the seventh trumpet
This was sick!! So many fucking bangers haha
it's great that my favorite metal youtubers are also fans of my favorite band
One of the hardest thing to do was to not include many more songs, so many possibilities it's insane
"Too much dad, not enough prog" is spot on
Haha yes! Don't get me wrong I still love the album (being a big dad myself) but yeah a bit too much dad energy 😆

This video is criminally underrated. You're pretty great, man!

Yes you're right City Of Evil already had pretty complex tracks in it, probably even more complex than the Avenged Sevenfold album
Nice to see you back making content mate! This is a huge step up in production value
Thanks mate!! Need to get on working on that new song now!!
we need a full cosmic cover!
My favorite song from the new album. Don't know why but it just resonates, that's how I know they are one of the best band out there!
@@ArnoVlmt agreed. made me cry the first time i heard it, and there's not too many songs that can do that to me haha
@@Gloomski totally get it, I'm unable to do anything else each time I listen to it. Just listen!
Love this
So funny 😂... but so true 😁

Sorry nothing but CoreKid 4 Life
Haha to each their preferences! Thanks for watching 🙏
