@@WithyShark I know you want to say, the framerate wouldn't handle it, but there is a solution, frames, just putting frames with a picture of wood on it, it doesn't have to be the items, just props! That lowers the framerate by a lot!
In hindsight, its interesting to note that Dave effectively built a miniature version of the Nuka-World DLC months before it was even announced. Heck, I'm now keen to believe that in-Game Joel actually controls Nuka-World, hence why Dave made a deal with him.
In late February Joel issued me a challenge: to build a Fallout 4 custom settlement that was the polar opposite of my traditional Minutemen settlements - somewhere that General Dave wouldn't approve of. Little did he know that I was going to make HIM the main theme of this new build...on Pleasure Island!
Dave, here's something interesting. Spectacle Island, in real life, was actually a dump. They later put dirt over the trash mounds, and it became a park.
+EvilViking13 Is that banner "Joel's pleasure island" is from one of the mods or it's custom made? And that 'Rule breakers get the pit..." sign? Also from a mod? If not, can you upload all those customs to the Nexus Mods? They are terrific.
Hey guys, I'm about to go get some sleep after the editing madness for this video but first let me pre-answer a few questions: 1. When will part 2 go live? The plan is for next Friday! 2. When will the mod list get updated? Sometime after April 15th. 3. Will you release the custom textures? Yes, but it won't be for a few weeks at least. 4. Why didn't I wait for Wasteland Workshop? Because I'm now using almost 100 mods I was worried about the update possibly breaking this build or some of the mods. 5. Will I update this build with the new DLC items? Yes! I'll return to this build once the DLC is out, most likely on my own, to update it with some of the new stuff. 6. Will you release this (or other settlements) for download? I'm hoping to, but there's no set plan yet. If you know of a good tool for sharing Fallout 4 settlements, send me an email!
can i just get your save file, stash everything away, lower my level via console commands, start again but forget the main quest line, and just exist in this world you've made? please
I want a mod that adds in all your settlements complete with quests. How awesome would that be these cities are better than bethesda create and to have them all ingame would be the coolest thing
True. But I think they should a little barren so if we wish to, we can make anything we want. Or make kinda reshape some of the stuff to our own ideas.
Dave you deserve wayyyy more recognition for these builds. Like they are insanely good, absolutely insane. I cant wait for the rest of the Far Harbor Builds. And I love the Podcast aswell, keep it up dude. Watched 150 live loved the nostalgia.
When you say all the materials for the building was gathered or bought it makes my jaw drop because that sounds like a lot of collecting and a lot of caps being used
You guys are awesome! BTW Joel needs to fly the Gadsden Flag in tandem with the Anarchy flag, just so settlers will know he means business. Joel: Don't Tread on Me! Dave: You're hired!
This is the most Fallout-like creation in all of Fallout. I love it. Please make an updated tour. No actually make a quest mod out of this. I dont care if I have to wait years for it, I just want to experience this place to its fullest. If you don’t know how to make quest mods I’m sure many people will help you if all you do is show them this settlement.
The trailer for The Purge Election Year came on and when the girls were creepily singing the pledge of allegiance my brain just thought "What would the pledge of allegiance be for the Minutemen under General Dave's rule?"
something like: I pledge allegiance to the flag, of the United settlements of the minutemen, and to the republic which we stand, one settlement, under General Dave, to liberty and settlements for all.
+SnappGamez For my Minutemen it would probably be something silly like "Something goes wrong, tell Ashton to fix it. Raiders coming strong? Laser turret the perimeter" or something more stupid.
I imagine someone who just sleeps outside the pleasure palace waiting for the master bedroom to be open so they can spend their life savings to stay just one night there
This settlement build was very creative and the same goes for the unique backstory of Joe’s Pleasure island . This settlement build needs to be a mod for us to download . Then we can all enjoy 😉 the full pleasures of pleasure island . Maybe some day we can have this as a mod to the PC and Xbox One and Ps4 .
Wow well done Dave! Thank you for the video, and I especially liked the face cam for added detail. Joel and you have a good thing going with these videos, keep up the fantasic work!
+Dylan Nix Dave is super cool, and you can tell by his fallout builds, that he isnt only insanely detailed in video games, but he has helped me out so much on my movie, and he is JUST as detailed with real life things as he is with games and stuff.
when you were reading the rule breakers sign and said The Pit it made me think of the Fallout 3 DLC The Pitt. and the name of the bar built in the house reminds me of a location in Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas
This is amazing! I can't wait to see what you do with wasteland workshop. Do you have plans for the Slog? It would be really interesting if you had a settlement like that designed as a sort of "technical school"/education-ish center. That would explain what you did with the Institute tech (like the trees) and give you a base for producing armorers, weapon technicians, doctors, etc. dedicated to the minutemen. Just an idea, though.
You know, for a while I thought I had beat you in the detail game...then this happened. DAMN YOU DAVE, DAMN YOUUUUUUU! Anyways, another great video and build. Can you do a Sunshine Tidings Co-Op build? It is REALLY big and has plenty of room for expansion.
Fantastic build Dave, probably one of your best so far! Very dirty - cynical, vivid and immersive! I have one suggestion for part 2: If I remember correctly, there's a cartoony bear sign on Spectacle Island somplace north on the island (?). That would be an awesome area to place an Yao Guai cage. And try to make it cage fighty + circus inspired - ''fight a bear with your bare hands.'' The prize money could be counted in beer (1 beer being 1 bottlecap, just for the fun of it). B for Bear and Beer. Name the bear if possible, Mishka would be cool (russian for bear). The bear owner could be this rather beardy, strong man looking dude... with no pants ;)
+MyOwnRealm Edit: In-game, bottlecaps are from Nuka Cola bottles only (no other kind of bottle, for some reason)* So, the beer bottle idea may not be relevant after all.
I like to watch your Fallout 4 build videos, very nice work and good attention to details. Wish I had something like that too :) I like to build, but decorating - that's not my strong side. I get occasionally an idea or inspiration and then make something, but not all the time and everywhere, so it's nice to see people who's creative mind is always active :)
Guillaume Cabano finally saw this. Thanks a lot! If u want to follow along with the progress. Make sure to like the Facebook page. It's the best place to keep up with news.
+Ian Laszlo He is using a jillion mods, so he didnt want to wait till the update incase it broke a bunch of things. He said he might go back and add some stuff once the new DLC is out, but no timing on that.
I've got to say, as original and thematic as your reinterpretation of Spectacle Island is, the video more than anything tipped me off towards 'Norman', and after following the link and watching the trailer, all I can say is it looks spectacular! Tremendous! A real tour de force! I shall definitely be keeping my eye out for updates/release dates etc.
+Alex Ritchie Glad you got a chance to check it out. Dave suprised me with adding my game and movie into the build. That was really cool of him. If you search for Normanthefilmdotcom or on facebook, feel free to follow the progress. I am hoping to finish the film by middle of summer this year. I have been working on it in my free time for almost 4.5 years. Can't wait to finally be done with it.
It was indeed, and I shall be signing up to your movie mailing list. I shall be very interested to see how you deal with the notion of temporal paradoxes. Personally, I don't believe they exist, or can exist, so it's always fascinating to me to see how other people approach them.
I don't think personally time travel could work, but within the world of the film Norman, we tried to keep things minimal and not too complicated, and we used the idea of time travel as a tool that progresses the story and creates issues Norman has to deal with than going super, super complicated. I think its a really interesting story, and hopefully others will to when it's finished and released. Thanks for your interest.
Sounds interesting. I think time travel is possible, but the creation of paradoxes is not. In other words, the Grandfather Paradox is bunk, and exists only because of our limited perception of time.
Yeah. I think you would enjoy how we tackled time travel. I think we connected things really well. hopefully. "crosses fingers." It can be such a tricky thing to tackle. Norman is very much a movie like Cast Away, but time travel edition kinda.
I know it's not traditionally your style Dave but I'd love to see your version of Sanctuary if ALL the structures there had been destroyed so that's totally 100% all Dave
Oh this is a truly messed up build for Dave (I am not complaining though, the pit workers and all the people being swindled are, but me I don't see anything horrible, just the occasional dead body on a spike, or a skeleton, nothing too concerning), haha, can't wait to see part 2, Joel seems happy with it.
Sarah Misa thanks so much. Check the film out on Facebook to follow along with the progress. I release lots of cool making of videos if ur into that kind of thing.
you should make a deep dark place like a lab to build robot's and run crazy experiments it could be like a second edition to Joel's dark personality on the game
I think Bethesda should hire you for some dlc ideas, at least for building new settlements
Well. Creation Club's out.
Yes and no because if he was hired for anything fallout is automatically a pc only game
They are probably snobs
@@WithyShark I know you want to say, the framerate wouldn't handle it, but there is a solution, frames, just putting frames with a picture of wood on it, it doesn't have to be the items, just props! That lowers the framerate by a lot!

"your last quicksave became currupt"
Dave: *uninstalls game*
Christopher Defreze I think I’d do that if my save becomes corrupt.
@Alijah Danny lies
That's what I did lol because it corrupted the whole game...not even a new game worked
Ha I have Know for mothers for this
General has to investigate pleasure Island...
For sience...
Dave, here's something interesting. Spectacle Island, in real life, was actually a dump. They later put dirt over the trash mounds, and it became a park.

Dave a question was that a witcher silver sword in the right corner of the room
+Hector Reyes Yes! We used it when we filmed our Witcher 3 Gwent short film last year. Keep an eye out for an updated version of that video too.
Will u b doing updated tours of your settlement builds once the workshop is released?
O cool wish I had one anyway love your videos keep up the good work
+EvilViking13 my only 2 questions are are you gonna fix it so joel's npc is back to gaurding and what is the speacial weapon his npc has?
can i just get your save file, stash everything away, lower my level via console commands, start again but forget the main quest line, and just exist in this world you've made? please
I want him to just put his save file up as a mod on Nexus so that I can live in this world
I hope NASA built you a pc
his map is a whole new storyline
could you do a lore video on your fallout world
Dave's beard looks quite majestic.
He could easily play Nicholas II in a movie without needing many changes.
It's better than I could have dreamed. Thank you.
#getdaveajobatbethesda
These guys have such a beautiful friendship. I hope they're still friends today
mooneverland. Don’t worry they are
They are
Where's the bucket where I can pay my 109 caps to get part 2 early?

The pre war resort lore is a great idea. The whole thing is very well thought out I CAN'T WAIT FOR PT. 2!
When you say all the materials for the building was gathered or bought it makes my jaw drop because that sounds like a lot of collecting and a lot of caps being used
Dave must have gone against every building instinct he has to make this one. This is VERY un-Dave-like. I love this
You guys are awesome! BTW Joel needs to fly the Gadsden Flag in tandem with the Anarchy flag, just so settlers will know he means business.
Joel: Don't Tread on Me!
Dave: You're hired!

i feel like joel would work well with obsidian...
Holy shit.. This is fucking amazing! Bethesda, just hire this guy already.
this is truly amazing. I wish this was in the main game with a quest line. I hpe dave makes a quest mod or something when the creation kit comes out
I got inspired by Dave to build my own sanctuary military base. I take pride in it and I will still watch him to get more ideas.
Spectacle Island is my favorite settlement, and so far you did a really go job with it. Also Norman looks extremely good.
I spend all day stalking your channel for both the part 2 and new videos constantly, PLEASE JUST DEDICATE ALWAYS TO MAKING SETTLEMENTS!
The trailer for The Purge Election Year came on and when the girls were creepily singing the pledge of allegiance my brain just thought "What would the pledge of allegiance be for the Minutemen under General Dave's rule?"

+SnappGamez makes sense, imagine the settlers singing that while working or the kids having to stand up and sing it every day during the morning.
I imagine someone who just sleeps outside the pleasure palace waiting for the master bedroom to be open so they can spend their life savings to stay just one night there
been watching these over so many weeks and even though i disagree with the choice but GOD DAM i love the effort to the lore
+leon brown thanks man! These are definitely a ton of work but also a lot of fun to make
Fantastic as always, fellas!
Anyone else get a bit of a Bioshock vibe from the start of the video?
I just looked at the Norman preview, I am really really interested to watch it. Please finish it soon. Keep up the amazing work and never give up Joel
Thanks for the support. Means a lot. Can't wait to release the film. Hoping later this year.

I just realized that Pleasure Island is basically an ancap paradise, pretty damn accurate
i shed a tear when i saw the notification
You need to build an enemy settlement that the Minutemen are having trouble taking over or something like that.
Man I love your videos I can't wait to see what your going to create for the wasteland workshop
My Custom Faction
Huh City full of sin...
Lets just....*Airstrikes*
Perfect place for a forward operating base

Man talk about amazing, you've got some talent Dave, I hope for full fledged mods when the CK comes out maybe?
Every new build is your biggest and most detailed.
I watched this 3 years ago, and all the innuendos only now make sense.
One day Joel's Island will rival Vegas.
I love what you do and I think you deserve more subs because you inspired me to get fallout 4 and build settlements and I love doing it

....
Dave what's in the tub.
XD "Joel "Send help plz"" killed me at the beginning of your video

you should have waited for wasteland workshop to come out then add a Gambling fight pit with death claws and stuff.

oooh the agony! im hooked at this point... GIVE ME MOAR DAVE! NAU!
You need to update this hive of villainy
since the minuteman lore is so crazy right now
What a great build you've made a real post apocalyptic sin city.
After seeing this, I don't think you can call your self the "not so evil Evil Viking" anymore
Not sure if he was going for this but, this looks like some type of cool zombie map. Either way nice job.
That was great, can't wait for part two. I'm curious about the AR mount you're using.
happy to see you back
It feels like a Far Cry campaign. Looks sweet
Finally got to see your face! Do face cam more often!
I am building spectacle island as my Minutemen boot camp-
2020......stilllll waiting for Norman. 😂
The trailer for the Norman movie looks really good
I know it's not traditionally your style Dave but I'd love to see your version of Sanctuary if ALL the structures there had been destroyed so that's totally 100% all Dave
Dave got very "imaginative" with the top floor of the Pleasure Palace...
Ranger Dave you're my hero..

I just watched the trailer for Joel's film and it looks dope as hell. I'm so hyped for it :^)
Sarah Misa thanks so much. Check the film out on Facebook to follow along with the progress. I release lots of cool making of videos if ur into that kind of thing.
A Pleasure island DLC would be so cool!
Just realized, Joel looks like the guy that played Zemo in "Captain America: Civil War"
Norman looks really cool! Well done guys!
I feel like Fallout 4 should have had a location like this in the vanilla version. It just fits the world so good.
I have no idea how many times I've seen this video, but I've always read this as "Pleasure at Spectacle Island." How did I never notice the mistake!?
MAN LOVE THIS SERIES MOAR PLS
A gun casually in the background
Feel like this should actully be a place in the game
Joel is actually a synth and has been running Pleasure Island for more than 80 years
Man, I know that word "epic" is really abused these days, but this is truly epic settlement.
This is now the second time I've had to re-subscribe to EV13's channel. Starting to piss me off. Anyway, love the build, EV~ :3
This is mor daves island then Jouls. I loved the video.
you should make a deep dark place like a lab to build robot's and run crazy experiments it could be like a second edition to Joel's dark personality on the game
This is where i would love to live here, i would work for joel like heck yeah
It's the beard. Your voice. That beard. I'm getting flash backs to Bee Gees
YES! waiting for this for ages!
You deserve way more subs
He should go back and update this settlement with some of the nuka-world stuff and other DLC stuff
Praise the glorious beard! I wish I had a beard like that!
Awesome build, by the way.
Great work Dave!
Woah u look nothing like I expected you to look like
Same
Yeah lol
i expected a beard, after all he is a Viking.
intro got way better 15/10
Best build yet keep it up!
I wish I had Dave’s save so I could then see about modding blueprints for eac settlement
