I'm a duckpin bowler. I did not fully appreciate how much duckpin lane pin decks contributed to pin action and scoring until watching this video. Duckpin pin decks are a smooth all-metal plate. The kickback panels on either side are lined with thick gum rubber. The result is incredible bouncing and sliding duckpin pins not present in this video.
And rules state that the pin deck can be lowered I believe to 1/2" so as the ball can hit the center of gravity of the pin better. I used to bowl in a non-sanctioned house in Tappahannock, VA back in the 90s called Printer's Alley. The pin decks were flush with the lane. After acquiring Sherman bowling machine equipment and pin decks from Plaza Bowl in Richmond Virginia when they closed briefly in the late 90s, I installed them and dropped the pin decks to the spec minimum 1/2". We also had crappy rubber kickpads as well. After installing them and making the minimum distance between kickpads meet specs the averages went up 15 pins. Good times. Unfortunately Printer's alley no longer exists as well as Plaza Bowl.
I would volunteer to be a Pinboy too, as a Filipino coming from a country where Duckpin Bowling still uses Pinboys instead of the Sherman Automatic Pinsetters
That looks like fun !!! 🤣.. A bunch of my bowling buddies and I play until wee hours every Friday night after leagues. We love playing goofy games and doing goofy stuff. This would be an excellent game for us to play if we could get a rack of duck pins setup.

The answer is no. The pins knocked down must be cleared. The only bowling in which the pins that were knocked down stay on the lane is candlepins. There is also a distance of 1 foot between the center of each pin. Thanks for trying it.

Combined all three rules. Leave deadwood from candlepins. Only two balls per frame from regular ten pin bowling. (The others use 3.) Pins from duckpins.
Hey BrunsNick, honest question for ya. Why do you have one fingertip and one conventional finger grip on your balls? Very unique and I've always been curious. Thank you.
What company did you get the pins from? They do not look like they came from American Products in Rhode Island. Looks like they had a hole in the top from a string machine and the bottoms look a little different. Also, I would like to see you bowl with an actual duckpin ball. No drop from lane to deck, deep gutters, and no rubber sideboards. You would be lucky to hit 120. BTW awesome shot on the 4 -10 in the first frame.

you say a real bowling ball, i bowl candlepin and a real bowling ball to me is a 2lb 7oz. and a real bowling ball to a duckpin bowler is their 3lb ball. i always did want to try a tenpin ball vs candlepins though but i think it would really mess up the pinsetter and ball return machine. i can see it looks like you are setting the pins up on a tenpin lane, the comparison is interesting.
I have actually done that. We do 5 pin here which uses the same balls and some have convertible pin setters. I did manage to muster one strike and a couple of spares on tenpin with my Softroll balls.
