Is the airframe tube stock cardboard wrapped in fiberglass/Epoxy? Did you do a tip to tip layup on the fins? How high did this rocket fly on an H motor? Sorry for so many questions I am going to build an estes big daddy with a 38mm ply hop up kit.
    Thank You

@wyliewesty Stock cardboard body tube, no fg anywhere, just got construction techniques and epoxy. Airframe gets soaked several times in thin CA on all edges, 2" down into the BT. Essentially turning it into a composite. Cardboard and plywood is far stronger than people today give it credit for. I fly the 38mm upgrade on I motors all the time.

What is the largest motor you believe that can be used with your modifications ?

So far I have FLOWN this specific rocket on an I161W (38/360) and an I225FJ (fast blackjack) in the 38/480 case. The 38/480 was a squeeze, but it fit and even had a chute release. You could do the 38/600 case but you would have to do another transition to even smaller tube to get further up into the far end of the nose cone.
Both I motors absolutely ripped and flew spectacularly. The I225 was especially good, and I am not a smoky motor kinda guy, but the Black Max propellant (fast blackjack) is very stout. I225 maxes out at 62lbf of thrust and that rocket, loaded, doesn't weigh 2lbs. Too bad its not popular and not really carried most places. Better marketing I think could have opened peoples eyes to a rather bitchin propellant.
