  • The Panasonic Lumix GH7 Mirrorless Camera enthusiastic live interview with Sean Robinson, Senior Marking Manager Lumix, during Hot Rod Camera CINEBEER. GH7 has RAW Recording with the latest Phase AF and ARRI CLOG3.
    This video did not use 32-bit float audio. Sean talked about 32-bit float audio while we were using the LARK M2 microphone, which features a 48kHz/24bit audio format. My voice requires 32 bit float!!!!!
    After exhausting two days of recording interviews during the Cine Gear Expo LA at Warner Brothers Studio with my rolling interview studio stand, I was extremely excited to sit and talk with Sean from LUMIX GH7 in the shade during CINEBEER. I'm sorry, Sean, for cutting you off a few times because of my excitement about hearing about the Panasonic GH7 and two new lenses.

    I'm new to audio so I'm still learning. Recorded this NOT planned interview with the iphone 15 Pro Max and not with 32-bit float audio. Sean talked about 32-bit float audio while using a 48kHz/24bit wireless audio. I will not be using non 32 bit audio recorders ever again as I get way to excited and my voice really needs 32 bit float to bring down the gains. This was an iPhone recording so I apologize.

      Thank you. It wasn't a planned video so it was just my iPhone and cheap wireless audio. Plus, my excitement is genuine which does blow out the non 32 bit audio.

    Current prices for the LUMIX GH5S and the LUMIX GH7 (without the ARRI LogC3) are only $100 difference on B&H Photo Video website. Having fewer but larger pixels than the GH5, the GH5S has dual-native ISO, wider dynamic range and very good low-light performance. I wonder if there will be a LUMIX GH7S with fewer but larger pixels (say, 18MP), even wider dynamic range (perhaps 14+?) and even better low-light performance (compared to the GH5S), and come with dual-native ISO? If the trade-off is no in-body image stabilization, I would still go with a GH7S.

    So we cannot use the XLR2 32bit float on any Lumix cameras apart from the GH7?

    talking audio... fix your levels. 32BFloat seems to be your saviour.

      My guess is that the MF clutch was engaged by mistake - happened to me once with an Olympus Lens...

    I don’t care how good you imagine the camera is, it’s a micro 4/3… So in low light it will suck and the blacks will be noisy. If this was a full frame camera I would be buying it in a heartbeat. Micro fourth third sucks… Whether you believe that or not
