I got myself the 226 Legion around the same time as you picked up this beauty, and after having watched this review I can't say you went wrong. FOUR 20-round mags is awesome plus the flared 'tactical' mag well.. Love the fiber optic front sight which IMO is as good as, if not better than, the Legion's X-RAY high-contrast front sight.. The reduced profile controls on the Legion can be a matter of preference so we can call that comparison a wash.. That beaver tail, reduced (like on the Legion) or not, is damn sexy..
The biggest difference for me would be the X-5 undercut and the GrayGuns trigger but hey, both the Legion's and TacOp's triggers are phenomenal. The Legion just suits my smaller hand better.
And we've both put a fugly nick on the slide so we can say we're both past that new-gun-babying stage, haha.
    SWEET Sig.

I wanted the legion for the longest time but now their triggers and a few internal parts are made in India. Serious turn off of the weapon.

i miss my old Sig. it was a great shooter... Sig has really been improving quality control the past few years, and they have been a huge 2nd amend supporter too!! great vid thanks

My first personal gun and it’s an absolute beaut. Value for money, there’s no other 226 that beats it. If you want an even shorter reset, an aftermarket adjustable trigger shoe will make it even better, far better than the mid-tier trigger shoe on the legions.
Serves me great in all purposes, competition, duty, and even daily use in carry considering it’s a full-size gun. The mags and other bells and whistles being an Elite model has more than made up for its value and it’s surely one 226 that one should get.

Anyone know how to tell date of manufacture from serial number? From what I have read, Sig changed serial number scheme in 2014 so 47 is P226. Exeter became Newington in 2016. I am guessing the letter A is year of manufacture. The rest is sequence number. My guess is this one was made in 2014 or 2015.

Thank you VZ? What did you do to your stock grips to make them better did you glue that seam shut? I could not believe how much play they had

Good review, Nice looking TacOps Sig.. Really like the 20 round mags and front sight, I have the SP2022 the grips are solid and slide on with good grip. Looking to scarf up a P226 Navy some day.

Thanks Brother, another great video! I've been comparing 1911s recently, but I might abandon that plan for a Threaded Sig Tacops!

I'm a gun dummy, But a lot of these handguns look the same and it seems that you could interchange the barrels...Sig 226 / 227. S&W 9mm /.40 cal . Glock. etc...But I'm assume the manufacture has made small /little differences so this is not possible. What you say?

Hogue makes g10 mag grips that are expertly made. They match up perfectly with little to no flexing

Is that a current production tacops with the long extractor? Or is the current production with the short extractor like the MK25

I love the gun I was gonna get one but then saw the grips. Can I get solid grips like metal or something strong that will still take 20 rd. Mags thanks. JOHNNY LOVE

cheaper than dirt sells the 20 round mags for about $30 I've never had a problem with mine. I bought four so far. there mec gar made. but my factory mags that came with my P226 MK25, that I added the srt kit and trigger to I might add, are mec gar made.

Nice vid, thanks for sharing. But I'm sure if you gotten the Legion instead, you will hands down love it more than the TACOPS. But the TACOPS is still a great gun nevertheless. Respect.

Just bought the threaded barrel version today. It’s also my first SIG. First impression is how perfect it feels in my large hands. Feels better than my Kimber and my Walther Q5 Match, and that is saying a lot. Quality feels better too, slide is smooth as silk, trigger is exceptional, and it looks so god damn cool. I’m a SIG fanboy for life now.

kotaboy32 Firearms Review That's good info. but for a gun that I'm paying $959.00 it should come with high quality steel grips.

    • @909Kasper
      @909Kasper 8 лет назад +1

+JayzBeerz - I'm with you on this one. I really don't like the fact that it comes with cheap ass flimsy polymer grips. I'm in CA and I am sure that this piece would run well over $1,000 bucks. I would expect more for my money. i love SIG firearms but this one dropped the ball by trying to cut corners. For the price and the reputation that SIG carries I just expect more for the money...

kotaboy32 Firearms Review I get MPO price on this firearm of $959.00. Why should I dish out another $120.00 for a grip and magwell. For that price it should come with it. I own 4 SIG's and sorry but this is just a bad design.
