Thank you for the encouraging comments. Unfortunately I'm doing some really boring work at the moment, so there isn't much opportunity to make videos. But I have some plans.
Matthias, from the middle of California I have followed you for a while. This is truly magnificent! Congratulations. It really looks wonderful, and I can't believe how you did it all - including casting your aluminum. Really wonderful job and thank you for taping and posting. Again, well done.
Wow, incredible. I might have to make my handyman husband do that for us :D maybe a family project. I lived in Germany, am from the Czech republic, and here in the US I really miss things like this! Splendid job!
Mathias you are truly a craftsman and you have a great eye for detail and beauty.I have look forward to every video you have produced and I can't wait for the next one. Please don't burn down your lovely home next time once is enough. You are very cool.
Been following your channel for some time but the time between uploads never stops the anticipation of one of your videos. I was not disappointed with this. You are a master craftsman and well worth waiting for. Thanks for the upload. See you in a couple of months Mathias.👏
Insane! You started with a woodstove and brick surround video then created a foundry!? You are the master, I was in awe, very inspiring. I'm gonna have to step up my game now!
Astonishing! You really never seem afraid to take on something new, is it? For a first try, I must say I admire the results. It shows you comprehend the process of sandcasting very well. Compliments, Matthias! I am always happy to see a new video of yours has arrived, worth the waiting. Vielen Dank und herzlichen Grüsse aus Die Niederlande.
This was one amazing project. It's a joy to watch you and you have a great voice that compliments your excellent work. You are a true genius. Thank you for sharing your work.
Matthias, I've been watching your videos for a long time and was just wondering when you might post one when I saw this! Amazing. I became rather obsessed with Kachelofen on my first trip to Central Europe some time ago and have always wondered why they are not more popular in the United States, especially since many people use wood stoves. My very first foray into constructive hobbies was metal casting in bronze and aluminum like this, so I was doubly excited to see you tackle that for this project. It looks beautiful, especially the decorative cast plates.I'm sure your family will be able to enjoy and admire that for generations! Cheers from California.
04:08 - OMG! Hi Honey, I built an iron smelter in the basement out of old iron scraps, bicycle parts, grampy's old homesteading bed, and junk from the Hobby Lobby dumpster. Next week, I'm starting to work on the nuclear reactor... This guy is The Bomb! Cheers, Mate!
It's been a year since you built this wonderful functional piece of art - How has it been working? Does it keep the home warm? How's the wood consumption? Now that it's all done, would you have done anything different if you were to tear it down and build a new one? Thanks for your videos... they are inspirational and testament to a capable master craftsman.
What is the second chamber in the chimney right next to the fire box? It looks like the exhaust is being down drafted. Is that correct? (Viele Grüße von einem Deutschen aus Kanada.)
I am in awe of a man who has all these building skills. The casting was AMAZING!

wow, amazing. That aluminium casting work would have made a fine video all on it's own. I assume this is at your new house?
Yes, this is the new house - slightly improved since you visited it, but in essentials unchanged.
You two guys are my heros.
Dozer1642 I agree. Watching two of my heroes interact just makes it...so...much...better.

You do amazing work Matthias. Interesting especially to someone in the Southern USA, everything is quite different over there.

Fantastic! Would loved to have helped with casting to learn a few tips
That Looks fantastic....!
In America "intuitive design" means we listened to the wife and followed her directions
That's exactly what I did ;)
Good to hear that German is still a germanic language like Yankee english
Holy sh**! It’s happened! The internet has coaxed out the smartest man in the world!
Beautiful!

Great job, as always.
That's a lot of money in aluminum.
Awesome! There's no way you could get an insurance company to insure something like this in North America though.
Absolutely amazing.
300 years later.....2318 AD, wow look at this brick fireplace........
Art that will be a round for thousands of years....
What was that metal assembly buried in the masonry? A heat exchange? Very nice work!

Amazing!
