Thanks to Neil and Neil! Stunning for sure, but I am not sure this one is for me. Rose gold and yellow gold together? Plus, I have had enough cocktails for one lifetime already! Cheers, Jody
The gold/rose gold combo give it a faded-vintage look, which fits the sipping whisky cocktails in the reading room dressed in your velvet jacket vibe, like a well-worn watch handed down from your grandfather. That's a compliment btw, we don't always have to be bold and brash and modern.
The colors are fine together. They play well off of each other. They probably made 10 versions of the case color to match the best one to the dial. It would have been amazing with a bronze case.
29 seconds… Love the Gold/Rose Gold contrast, this might be my first dress watch… wish there was no date though
I wish they had that Matcha dial still available. By far the best one, no gold involved so its more versatile yet beautiful.
I love this watch, and it just adds another level knowing it comes from my home state. Well done to Seiko. Really hoping to see more like this in the future! 🙏
I really like the look. It's beautiful. I wish it was available with sapphire crystal. I am actually contemplating purchasing one and having the crystal replaced with double domed sapphire.
I like the Lark very much! Size, colors, even the date wheel. Prefer a safire crystal of course and wish you had checked the movement accuracy. Every once in a while it's fun to see.
For those in the states (or else where) looking for something similar or even slightly more… ostentatious shall we say, there are all gold versions of this with a similar dial: SRPK48 & SRPK46
Perfect. Thanks for sharing. I was just thinking that it would be a possibility for me if not for that rose gold case…
Absolutely stunning piece! Own 3 Presages but that one beats them all. PS just pre-ordered your Erebus Origin. Can't wait for it-from the reviews it looks like a real spec monster. Great job and good luck.
That's a gorgeous watch. I was in Tasmania back in 2004, I was half way through my 14 month round the world backpacking trip and what a, beautiful place it is. Tahune Airwalk was great, climbed to the top of The Pinnacle, saw the monument to Louis and Joe, Antarctic explorers, and many other great places. Unfortunately I never saw the distillery, though I did get to see the Cascade Brewery 🍺🍺
Hope you're enjoying your vacation in Scotland. Glad too you put some videos in the can for play while you're gone.
This looks very much like a rose gold version of the Star Bar Houjou SRPH78J1. A truly beautiful watch. I wear mine on a dark brown vintage leather strap which makes it look even better.
The reviewed watch looks great…until you compare it your Irish coffee. That’s a cracking little watch. Color, indices, and case size are all just perfect.
I asked Seiko UK for one and they said yup it's Aussie only BUT they do sell a really similar dial called "Beer Julep" with a really bling gold bracelet! £470
And it looks way better than the rose gold.
I’ve been looking to add a dress watch to my collection, however 40.5 mm it’s just a little too large for a dress watch IMO. I love that Irish coffee cocktail time you have though!
Exciting to see the review, and thanks for picking this one up for me! FWIW I also can never stand the stiff (and cheap looking) straps that come with these, and I really don't understand why Seiko don't come up with some straps that are on par with these watches.
When I first saw the Seiko adds for this I loved it, but I'm not so sure now that I have seen a few real world photos and videos and I agree, rose gold and gold don't go together really well. I do love the brown croc strap though.
Wow, that is a stunner. I can see it might be hard to read the time for me, but that dial is amazing. Too bad they don't sell this in the USA.
seiko USA has something similar special for USA market, but their design team are tasteless.the color they come out make the watch looks cheap and ugly
So cool to see an Australia only watch! I'm relieved that it's not to my taste (I'm warming up to the idea of a gold non-vintage watch, but I haven't yet come as far as wanting 4 different colors of gold in the same watch 😮). Thanks for another great video!
That is a really marvelous dial. All in all a very nice watch. I would be trying to chase one of these down but there is a brand-new microbrand commanding my attention before the price rise hits. Maybe in the secondary market I can get one of these at a later time.
This is almost exactly the same design as my Cocktail Time Starlight. The only difference is the colour. That dial looks far more dynamic though. Mine is quite muted until it's in full sunlight.
Judy, you mention that they don't do colour matched dates for the presage range. The Black Velvet Cocktail Time is colour matched. I know as that is one of the reasons I bought that specific model 😊
Nice watch. Thank you 😊.
Why is the date not straight in the window?
Think that's my favourite looking cocktail so far. Shame it's not coming to the UK
I love the green dial one with the numbers it’s more of a modern take on a classic look
Now that looks a lot like the box has been made from Tasmanian Blackwood.
Could be of significance.
Stunning watch and great review! Thanks again mate.
The matcha cocktail time is my favorite one! Not in this video, I know…
Great watch, seiko should make a yellow gold case with same face (39mm) for world distribution with a no date version. They would sell many!
Love the dial and handset but plated watch cases make me a bit nervous, I am easy on my watches so I perhaps should not be, nice review.
I have not joined the Cocktail party yet and probably wont bother, I am pleased for you all that have, if you are enjoying your purchases, I am obviously not seeing the draw though of getting overcharged for a mineral lensed watch.
Looks really nice, but I am not a fan of the plated case, definitely prefer steel cases or even titanium. Thanks Jody 👍🏽
Nice to see Watson's getting a shout out! They're amazing, and always beat prices 😁
Greetings from sunny buffalo, New York. I truly enjoy your content and I eagerly await each new video. You have introduced me to entirely new manufacturers and you honest approach keeps me coming back for more. I have multiple family member that a graduates from the University at Buffalo, so let me know if you are in need of more gear. Thank you what you do for our shared hobby and passion.
Love Cocktail Time dials. For me, the problem with these is that 40.5mm is too much dial in a dress watch.
Would make a nice gift for a larger fella.
Thats an $800 dial on a $340 "rest of the watch" like most cocktails, that dial is sweet.
Very similar to my SRPH78J1. Main difference is yellow gold tone versus rose gold tone
Wow. That dial. Almost looks like it's bronze tempered. Gives the Negroni a run for my money!
That dial is stunning 😍
Terrific case and dial. Why can't Seiko make these a civilized 38mm with 6 o'clock date window?
Looks like a watch I'd love to wear, based on a cocktail that looks like I wouldn't want to drink :D The colours look gorgeous on a watch, but when associated with a drink they make me think of coffee, heavy cream and pineapple. Like if you put pineapple in some Irish Coffee.
Rose gold and yellow gold combination. I love it. They HIGHLIGHTED and complemented the beauty of each other.
I like what I see here.
nice watch ,, i always have my tang with rubber or nato to the inside as u have on that one ,, to me having it to the off side of wrist it always snags and dos'nt look finished to me
VODKA and IrnBru? It was whisky in the mix when I lived in Edinburgh (albeit 20+ years ago…).
I rather like the rose gold-on-yellow gold look. It shouldn’t work, but it somehow does. I just returned a Zodiac Olympos because of poor legibility, but if it had the faceted hands and indicies and longer minute markers that this one does, that would’ve made a difference.
It’s more than stunning. It’s freaking spectacular.
That looks stunningly beautiful
I have the eucalyptus and the Noosa is being delivered as I speak. now I need to buy this one lol..
Does anyone know for sure how thick/thin the gold electroplating is?
nice watch... love that dial.... cheers
Looks very similar to the SARY208 sold in Japan
Hi Jodie nice watch I have the exact same watch I yellow gold. Different ref no and packaging ,Ltd to 5500 I'm in Ireland I researched the dial I think it resembles shardes of rice. Who knows
where did you buy the rolex gmt clock?
Hi Jody, is it me or Seiko have problem having the Seiko logo straight on their watches? That’s kind of why I gave up on Seiko quality control is horrible. Nice video. 😃
That dial gets instant love from me. I think it has taken the right things from both of your versions. That date does stick out though. Not hideous, but more of a nuisance than an asset. Considering the seconds hand, they might have tried a dark red date wheel. Pity that they sized up for this one, as 38mm is plenty. The style of case construction on these is not my favourite, nor are the cost saving features of hardlex crystal. All in all, I guess the shortcomings absolve me from sourcing one from Australia, but yes rose gold on gold fumé works pretty well for me thanks to the texture and the faceted hour markers all around. The handset also seems made for this dial.
Very much agree about the date wheel.
They couldve made it into a bronze (aluminum) case then itll be superb! CuAl will make it tarnish less and stay shiny longer.
great looking watch, albeit quite big for a dress piece
Can't help but wonder, do you prefer the whisky or the watch?
Seiko make so many different cocktail time watches, I think I have a growing chance to buy a Hungarian Limited Edition. It shall be called Házi barackpálinka (home-distilled peach brandy). :-)
It looks almost like my Srph78. Also limited edition.
It's a nice looking watch.
What kind of leather is the strap?
Been mulling over one of these Seiko models but I literally canny decide 😕
Dude ❤ that crown 👑
I have one of these. The dial is ridiculous. The press shots don't really do it justice. In the sun the dial glints and shines at a massive rate.
I dunno. That dial finish reminds me of the ceiling of the house my aunt owned in the 80s. In Bendigo.
Yep, you're right. All out.
It's so pretty!
Unfortunately Watsons watches only deliver to Australia (though their website doesn't make that clear).
Sieko is great, I recently bought the sbt chronograph with the ice blue dial… it’s so nice. 😮💨🙌 the sieko tank is fantastic too.
problem is you can only get it in australia and no seller ships it worldwide
I do not understand the date window on a cocktail watch. You do not need to know the date for having dinner or a dress up day. For regular wearing it is probably the least practical extra. A totally clean dial with 3 hands is much nicer than that sort of ok looking date window. Less is more with a dress watch yet I must admit to appreciating the day date on the ones I have as being retired from day to day working I forget it is Sunday sometimes. Thanks for the show.
Absolutely beautiful-however I have a feeling in the flesh this 40.5 without bezel feels BIG.
The looks have to be astonishing to make up for +45/-35s.
Date cut out looks significantly off centre. Once you see it, you can't unsee it.
I have nearly as many watches as I do degrees from the University at Buffalo, I really know what time it is
Want one
This is very, very close to the SRPK46J1 😂
They could have picked a bronze case, for the occasion. Would both match in colors and spirit of aging whisky, with the patina.
Beautiful looking watch but forgive my nitpicking, I wish, like many of the watches of the 1950's and 60's that this watch was inspired by, that it had little dots of lume just outside of the hour markers on the dial and some lume on the hands. Plus the obvious spec of sapphire instead of hardlex (Seiko speak for Hardly Better Than Mineral).
Never thought I’d see my alma maters t-shirt…go Bulls!
Very interesting for a gold dial. Not a fan though.
I love the finishing/texture, but I'm not a fan of the color. With the Negroni over here, I won't miss this one tbh
What a watch! ⌚
They're available in NZ too but they're costly - $1100 NZD. Too much for what is on offer.
*SEIKO Presage Aromatic?*
Definitely a stunner. A little too good for me. But put one in the win column for the Aussies!
Same case, clasp and strap as the Manhattan.
Like the box, not keen on the watch. Not surprised there's still stock left, tbh
They should release a Snakebite & Black special edition at the same time as the Vodka & Irn-Bru. I feel like Seiko have been neglecting the goth market
And a green and orange Jager- Redbull colourway for the rave set.
Watsons is a great store , I bought a Black Willard from them, the price was excellent
A Rusty Nail covktail time with aged mild steel hands and batons would be different.
IRN BRU… 😂 Need a Buckfast as well!
Yellow gold for the whiskey. Rose gold for the barrell.
Jody tempting us with unobtainium 😤 so mean
Looks great, but not a big fan of gold though.
Jody, this upstate New Yorker wants to know why you have a UB shirt on!
Can you review Invicta Grand diver 3044 ? Its a big watch and I would like an honest oppinion rather than bullshiting on Invicta...
It doesn't need a date complication and the white background of the date wheel looks terrible against that beautiful dial. I understand why it's parked halfway to the pinion but it looks like an afterthought. Without the numerals, (and without the date) it could have been much more elegant at 39mm but that is a gorgeous dial...
It looks like it wears a tad larger than the bambino while still being in that vain. I think the bambino is too small for my large wrist so this would be a nice alternative.
Looks well niceeeeeee
Why are the watch straps reversed? Shouldn't the strap with clasp be present on the top of the watch? 2:53
I noticed that too, strange. But why the wrong way?
